    Because And then, Shokaku have clear advantage over Kaga in rockets (same kind of firework, but 8vs18 is hard to argue). Torps and bombs are... it depends. Shokaku torpedo deals more damage than Kaga, but Kaga throws 4 fishes instead 2. Three on target already surpass Shokaku damage output. AP bombs are clearly better than HE bombs... against targets you can actually citadel, otherwise its "waste of time" tier of damage dealt. Kaga HE bombers on other hand are ineffective only against 5 ships - Yamato class, FdG when you land bombs on 80mm deck around turrets and tier 9/10 battlebalans due to insufficient bomb penetration. Everything else is mastercard. And then Shokaku player have to actually worry about plane reserves. Kaga can go full pepega and still have something to throw at the red ones.

    Then don't believe but check numbers. Stock Shokek and Kaga planes are identical sans squadron size, attack wing size, replacement time and payload for TB and DB. Upgraded Shokek planes have marginally better speed and hp. Kaga, Shokek stock and Shokek top, side by side

    Plane =/= ordnance. And then Kaga HE bombers, while lacking "impact" of AP bombs against correct targets, are useful against pretty much anything. Kaga TB are nothing to sneeze at when it comes to molesting battleboats as well

    IFHE remain necessary for all CLs, if you wish to damage battleships. Tier 6 and 7 become hard spot, as they require IFHE to damage higher tiered cruisers and lose ability to damage 32mm plating, ergo can't do damage with HE to T8+ battleships except superstructure

    PT gives you info someone else might join the party. Also its a tell tale about incoming torps. PM reduces chance. Which means engine/rudder/whatever will break anyway when you need them the most. IFHE is a no brainer for Akizuki class. BFT gives you flat reload increase, Demo on other hand have diminishing returns the higher tier ship you're firing at, T10 having 50% fire chance reduction means your Demo effectively gives you 1% increase. Also once you set fires/DCP is active, you can't set any more fires, making Demo useless

    "More guns" are often countered by worse firing arcs. Better armor on a cruiser usually means less chances for overpen. And then "more guns" + "more hp" usually means "bigger ship" thus camo does down the drain.

    Against the most common DD, Shima its actually a buff compared to old upgrade. And then new upgrade removed +50% proximity detection buff, which was more valuable than fish detection.

    Gulag skins and dorm are... controversial. But base skins are pretty damn good . Not sure what to think about Sov. Rossija (Sov. Soyuz class BB) getting Enty faced tho Also twin 130mm and Chapa 152mm guns from point exchange?

    You could use some of the elbow grease and determine yourself. -what armor plating you're most likely to see -what HE pen you have now -what HE pen you will get with IFHE -how important fire chance is for you Now? No reason to use

    Are you sure? 1/5 should be 152/155 thing and shouldn't apply to DD caliber guns. Colbert/Smolensk with 1/5 HE pen would be absolute top kek, able to pen 32mm plating with IFHE.
