    Literally standard issue, build, heavy cruiser, mark 1 thats in game since last skills rework back in 2016? With last 4 points spent at your leisure I guess. Same can be used on CLs with last 4 points going into IFHE

    Radio Localization is good for making people buttsore, especially when you learn to drop torps based on direction and general clues like "why A is capping itself"

    Except it is a Smolensk buff against AP - yes, 16mm will be overmatched. No, you need seriously steep angle to actually arm the fuse on that. And finally Smolensk will be viable threat to other Smolensk I suppose. Lesson learned, don't spend on ships as you never know when they might pull "global change" card

    Aaaand 105mm got effectively nerfed with introduction of 27mm plating on T8 and T9 Buffed Scharnhorst secondaries should be quite dank in Narai... but that requires having Narai in first place

    While there is very little difference in terms of stats between stock and top planes, sometimes you get bigger squadron, which in turn translates into larger reserves. Rockets seems to be the biggest gain for Shokaku, getting 3/9 squadron instead 2/8 AND planes get heavier rocket payload. So, instead throwing 8 rockets per run you throw 18, considerable improvement when dealing with DDs and occasional cruiser 19 point captain on Zao, or any other CA is IMO a waste, there aren't any interesting/useful skills past PT/PM, EM, AR, SI, Demo, CE for heavy cruiser. CL can use the same setup and throw in IFHE. AA skills are worthless, Vigilance becomes increasingly obsolete as you learn with preemptive torpedo evasion. Radio Location? Maybe, as "least useless" I guess.

    Daring also competes with Harugumo theorethical dpm and unlike EU derpstroyers, have plenty of smoke and outspots both. And as Daring torps are questionable to begin with, you can go full gunboat, while EU will be torn between torp reload and gun reload upgrades.

    Except no, as they (for now) use /6 HE pen. So 180mm shell have the same penetration as 152mm where is bussian rias when you need one

    Mogami as of now, due to glorious IFHE REEEwork got even better - 155mm guns with IFHE can penetrate up to and including 38mm HE, thus you can inflict hurt to hightier USN battleships like Iowa or Montana. 203mm I suppose are serviceable, but if you intend on keeping Mogami, I'd eventually get spare captain, get IFHE and use 155mm Amagi fixes one main flaw of Nagato - being overmatched by 380mm guns or bigger. In Amagi, only BB that is actual threat (AP shell wise) is Yamato. Rest you can ricochet with angling. Top speed of 30kts doesn't hurt either. Shokaku might be one of the best silver CVs in game. She isn't exactly forgiving due to IJN specialized plane loadouts though. El2aZeR replays would be one place to start I suppose

    Well, WG just shaved off meat because players asked for Smolensk nerf Or pray EXTRA hard to RNGesus your overmatching shell somehow clip through deck. Or ask Smolensk to angle harder, preferably almost bow on - 16/cos 75 degrees gives merely 61mm effective, not enough to arm even 380mm.

    152/5=30.4, rounded down to 30. 30*1.25=37.5, not rounded thus 37mm plating is thickest that can be damaged unless you find 37.5mm plating somewhere. On opposite, German 15cm is rounded up to 38 (150/4=37.5). Which conveniently goes with Mainz being in the works german bias

    Result of dividing caliber by 4, 5, 6 or whatever is rounded mathematically. Further IFHE shenaniganery isn't. Also NC had 37mm deck for since always, so Nopeburger always could damage that. I've dared to assume WG used common math rounding, ie 1-4 go down, 5-9 go up. I know, logic and WG aren't best friends at best of times.
