  2. Long range fire support in first half of the battle and WSAD keys are your friend - you don't rely on armor in a cruiser and Konigberg is no exception. And this trait continues down the line, though from tier 8 onwards, Hipper, citadel is covered in "turtleback" armor, which can make them embarrassingly tough cookies against AP shells at shorter ranges. Those are rather straightforward and descriptions are rather clear. Basic cruiser build, covering IMO all the bases would be this Priority Target->Adrenaline Rush (if you find turret traverse unbearable then Expert Marksman)->Demolition Expert (unless you find yourself notoriously running out of utility consumables like Hydro or Heal, then Superintendent)->Concealment Expert. Then spend your points at your leisure And then basic DD on top of that you pick skills you think you might find helpful, like Basic Firing Training, Torpedo Armament Expertise and other stuff https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-guides/how-it-works-spotting-system/ In WoWs if you get ammorack, you immediately sunk and get awarded with "Detonation" achievement. Which in turn gives you 10 Juliet Charlie signals, removing chance of detonation. So citadel hits are more likely. 10 or 12km is medium if not bordering on short range in WoWs terms. "sniping" usually starts past 18km and at such distances you usually have over 10s time to use WSAD hax to get out of the harms way. Priority Target with number increasing would be one tell tale of someone lining up their shot, alternatively "Incoming Fire Alert" skill, warning you when shells are already fired

    7 quickly recharging smokes means you can spam them at your leisure. CV incoming? Smoke. Opportunity to pew pew? Smoke. Breaking off detection during gtfo? Smoke. Yes, smoke last 40s, but that can be a positive - by time most torps arrive, smoke is gone so are you. Also you're not "locked" to one location as with normal smokes should enemies sail away of your gun range And number of CV players aware of how brit smoke works can be counted with fingers on one hand

    Haven't you thought its brit cruisers that are overbuffed in terms of handling than large destroyers being fat as you'd expect from large destroyer? And you're missing one tiny detail on Minotaur - citadel. Its hard to NOT hit it.

    Get camo instead RPF. While Akizuki and her knockoffs aren't "true" DDs, having camo to semi comfortably cap comes handy more often than it should be. Last points into SI and PM I guess, Akizukis do love smoke when no convenient island is available... which may or may not be their demise from torps. Personally I'm disappointed with Harugumo, mostly because Daring exists and Kitakaze is a thing at tier lower. Yes, Harugumo can brutalize cruisers, no, she can't gtfo fast enough from smoke when sonar operator starts sweating. Also being limited to 3/4 normal smokes after playing so much with Brits feels like a handicap. On IFHE, I start leaning towards ignoring it on CLs, as fire penalty is massive and when facing RU/US/Ger BB you don't get much in the way of benefits from it.

    Skill indeed cuts fire chance by half post 0.9.2 patch. But, Mogami 155 fire chance by default is already so-so 10%. 5% with IFHE, 8% once you throw in Demo Expert and both signal flags. Keep in mind fire damage can be FULLY restored and on the likes of USN or UK battleships with improved heals, it can take daaamn long time to burn through all the heals on someone who specced into survivability, which when maxed out, cuts fire duration by almost half. In return, 155mm can pen up to 38mm platings, which not only covers 32mm threshold, standard tier 8+ BB plating, but also deck and upper hull on USN battleships as well Alaska CB. Obviously, if you keep bumping into RU/Ger battleships, too well armored for that HE pen, then fires are your only option Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you can't respec captain later, stick with 203mm.

    Boise while is solid ship, suffer from very short range, which may or may not leave you wanting when uptiered on larger, more open maps as well recent armor/IFHE changes left her hung to dry. Atlanta is even more extreme version of her and requires dedicated captain to get the most out of her. She can be very fun and very effective when stars align though. Graf Spee lost considerably on her "overmatch potential" with recent armor changes, as all tier 6-7 heavy cruisers can ricochet her guns off central part. If you have experience with USN heavy cruisers, Indianapolis should be up your alley, being as bog standard USN CA as its possible. Bonus points for almost 17km range, handy when uptiered and/or on less than favorable map as well 10km radar at tier 7. Considerable surprise for unaware Sims is okay DD, albeit powercrept by newer additions. At least have perfect synergy with USN DD captains West Virginia and Arizona share two critical flaws - 20kts top speed and all-or-nothing armor layout, which means any guns big enough will overmatch you on entire length as well you will be one big exp pinata for any cruiser with enough HE pen. Somewhat similar issue with IJN Ashitaka, RN Warspite and RN Duke of York. Former at least have speed and 10gun salvo, Warpie have accurate and hard hitting guns (by BB standards), Duke have usual UK "nuclear" HE shells, but her AP with improved ricochet angles is nothing to sneeze at... when you find cruiser and RNGesus actually sends shells where you want them to be. From German premiums, T-61 is definitely solid. Back in the day, I'd also suggest Scharnhorst, as she is remarkably flexible ship when it comes to captain skills, she works fine with both cruiser and BB skillsets. Unfortunately, 283mm guns of questionable accuracy, leave too much to be desired, even more so as she, just like Graf Spee, lost on anti cruiser effectiveness with armor changes. The only "dis is gud" midtier premium ship would be Haida, but she requires solid understanding of DD play to make her work AND she requires dedicated captain as Commonwealth tech tree literally consist of three premium ships only. Not exactly "novice friendly". From premium ships overall, Alaska is GOOD, as in "borderline overpowered", but she is tier 9, requiring either 60€ to fork out or spend considerable amount of time on gathering Free Exp for her juicy 1mil pricetag. Similarly with tier 10 "coal" ships like Thunderer or Smolensk. Long term goal or whale HARD on event containers when they *can* drop coal currency if you want ship now.

    Attacking "marked" target in the middle of bigass blob usually means sacrificing entire squadron to deal, in most cases, chip damage assuming guy on receiving end plays with keyboard plugged on. The squadron that could be "spent" more efficiently against isolated targets "they don't support the team" - I find players who give such claims also b!tch and moan about CV planes "being too fast". And when CV role is reduced to damage farming only, no one sane will sacrifice their own damage output for some random dude to make pew pew noises or to drop fighters that won't stop attack run BY DESIGN.

    Thats a new one. Try "check and repair" option in WG Launcher and see if that help, also you can run game in safe mode, where it will ignore installed mods without yeeting them out manually

    Flak doesn't render for friendlies and does no harm, as was tested by overlapping mine and Yoshanai TB squadron and then flying through flak. Fighters don't do damage as well.

    When you angle, its only natural everyone load HE. Show broadside then you will see other colors of tracers sent your way Well, its always red cruisers that are OP, not the green ones
