All recent DD additions are gunboats of varying sorts, adding actual "torpedoboat" for a change wouldn't hurt I think. Heck, we have ship that would be perfect "US Akizuki" pressed as torpedoboat, so sky is the limit when it comes to WG. "Proximity" guidance could be very much a submarine gimmick without that whole derpy ping mechanic. That or being German sub specific - average speed, low-ish damage, acoustic guided torps. US having balanced stats, RU having slow and stealthy, IJN fast and hard hitting but slow reload.
-
I'd start with 6km Hydro and US smoke on top of Z-52 top torps inb4 5.6km detection as well "for balancing reasons" Or "acoustic guided torps", start homing to nearest source of noise (moving warship) when x kilometers away. With torp detection distance equal to homing range, so you can embrace maximum fun and engaging in BB... nah, won't happen. Can't do harm to main customers, that would be bad for business

128mm have reasonable reload at 4s. "slow and clumsy" is universal trait among hightier DDs, as most of them fit into "large destroyer" bill, being, well, quite big and chunky. And then WG will tack some proper gimmicks to make ship borderline broken interesting, because balanced ships doesn't sell.
-
Fletcher have the same gun layout and is still staple of T9 destroyer. Wildly guessing Z-35 will get Z-52 top torps to compensate for one gun less over Z-46 and then 6km Hydro for additional balancing reasons. That or different kind of smoke, maybe long lasting US or quick reloading UK.

What nations have good - very powerful AA.
Panocek replied to this_simple_username's topic in Newcomers' Section
SAP is major issue when dealing with battleships of lidl and glorious variety. US CA line have pretty good AA as well and ballistics are ok. Hightier French BBs have considerable AA and AP bomb immunity while having decent handling for torpedobeats UK and Aliexpress (PanAsian) DDs have the best smokes to deal with CV, simply because of having so many of them with quick reload. -
Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)

Or another RU event very soon, to push the plot forward. not Taiho kind of plot, story plot When you give Unicorn proper planes and doublestack her with steam catapults -
Spreadshiet says GZ bombers are fine, given how many ships were sold

*Looks as early access WG been pushing for like a year by now*

Anchor... funnels? reminds me more of a FdG hull tho. Nothing with Lenin, just cloning it for (probably) AL collab.

If that doesn't say AL collab, I don't know what will. Unless KC/Arpeggio out of blue decides to collab with WoWs AND embrace napkin designs -
H-42 would-be conversion to CV?

White one, regardless of plane type shows attack distance to get fully aimed drop WITHOUT any adjustments Green one should be self explanatory once you do at least one drop, as it shows expected torpedo path Yellow is rather obvious as well. If you have "green", color usually associated with "good", then yellow is usually associated with danger or warning of some sorts. In TB case, shows arming distance, where you might score hit, but no damage as torp didn't armed.

You still have control via keyboard and then flak doesn't spawn when you're closer than 3.5km (or was it 4km?). And then, if you're turning around for second pass, you'd have to be very unlucky to catch flak mid turn
-
Right click and manually look back to see how hard you've missed. Other than that... Practice, practice, practice.

It applies to most ships tbh *cough* DoY *cough* Błyska 180mm HE have rather meh 2500 dmg, same as German 203mm. Tallin also have, what, 13s reload, more than double than Mainz. 180mm AP also can overpen on broadside cruisers and lower tier BBs, requiring 30mm armor thickness, so bussian rias AP can work both ways.
-
Add to that option of removing 155mm guns from Mogami "to make her consistent with rest of the line", which just happen to have 38mm pen with IFHE and then selling T7 Mogami class CL, whom, again, by accident can reach 32mm HE with IFHE
-
Nothing is more permanent that "temporary"
-
Mainz is essentially this:
-
If WoWsft is any correct, Mainz have improved shells over Nurnberg, solving issue of losing too much speed (and thus, penetration) with range. So 12gun rapid firing, 38mm pen by default with terrifying AP damage output against all-or-nothing armored ships Tallin have only AP pen at her side, something not quite relevant when target is angled.

Which Class On Average Is The Biggest Damage Dealer?
Panocek replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
The class you're most familiar with. There is little reason to give you "play BB" or "play CV", when you have little experience in them and/or you have them at lowtiers, where their effectiveness might not be up to expectations. More you should get by focusing BBs in you ship class of choice, though focusing big guns instead small ones might compromise your win rate. And obviously, the higher tier the more hp to farm. -
Randomly generated link and "you're invited by MrConway" instead usual "you are invited to wows server" looks like of private one

One would guess WG would aim for Discord Partner server instead private one

Armory changes in patch 0.9.3 and first coal ship buying question.
Panocek replied to AshGear's topic in General Discussion
Doesn't mean you can't apply quality slap with 457mm HE when you have no broadsides to abuse. Same goes with Conkek, her AP is nothing to sneeze at when presented with nice target -
Don't play ships that can have their guns punched out. Any upgrades, skills reduce CHANCE of that happening, which means it will happen anyway Yamato class, Republique and Kremlin have the thickest turret fronts, but even those probably will fail against point blank hits against their own guns.

For starters, its rare enough to see first post not being full of buttsore On carriers themselves... there is little difference IMO between planes on T8 and T10 in terms of survivability, so if you can't make planes live long enough on T8, T10 carrier won't be the solution you're looking for. AA dps becomes substantial only when engaging 3+ ships tightly packed together, but doesn't prevent first strike unless you misplay horribly, as designed by WG. Flak is rather easy to avoid, as it spawns in regular intervals and on PREDICTED path, based on your speed and direction + some random spread. Thus, changing course every +-2s and letting the W key off during final approach (assuming you were boosting when in AA range) should get most of the flak out of the way. When not having singled out targets to molest with your heart content, you should try shortening squadron to one attack wing+one in reserve and immediately F key after dropping payload, to make use of accelerated bailout to cut down returning losses. Payload quirks - US from tier 8 onwards have two types of rockets, HVARs (multiple small rockets) with horizontal spread, thus you want to engage ships from broadside. TiTs, or, officially known as Tiny Tims, few in numbers but accurate, hard hitting and high pen firecrackets, have vertical spread just like IJN rockets, making them better suited when attacking ships lengthwise. But, with some practice, you can get good hits on broadside targets as well. US dive bombers were nerfed in the past in terms of accuracy, to make them less effective against destroyers and maneuvering targets. Only reliable clue I can give with US bombs is "get bigger RNGesus shrine and pray harder". On Shokaku you might want to get rockets researched ASAP, as you get massive firepower bump with those, going from 8 to 18 fireworks per run. IJN AP bombs are primarily anti cruiser tool. Not because battleships have too thick armor, as in quite a few cases, distance between deck, where bomb arms and citadel itself is long enough for bombs to detonate before reaching juicy bits And completely skip UK carriers, they are beyond redemption. You might return later to them, to challenge yourself and appreciate how actually useful US and IJN are in comparison.
