    Dunno about Skane, but Oland I've found good/interesting enough to keep her, with rear 360 turret being saving throw. Ostergotland not so much, as she is too similar to Halalaland, and in not a good way - same concealment, same torp reload despite using quad fishlaunchers, turret traverse becomes bothersomely annoying with main gun reload upgrade.

    Shell behavior is actually predictable, its just guns sending shells randomly AP bombs follow the same pattern as AP shells. As in, you need to arm the fuse and projectile needs to meet with citadel hitbox without ricocheting off or otherwise being stopped by armor plating(s) along the journey to give you that juicy black ribbon. German BBs have rather massive superstructure, which is overmatched (shells cannot ricochet) by 283+ guns. Thus, even when angled, red BB/CB can simply blast you with overpens in superstructure, damage type that also happens to ignore damage saturation While you can attempt to mitigate that by going bow on, to hide as much superstructure as possible behind turrets, with poorly armored German turrets it can and probably will mean losing guns permanently, 360mm plating on turret front on Gneisenau/Bismarck/Tirpitz is nothing for 380mm+ guns you are pretty much guaranteed to face. Armored all around armor scheme used by Germans/Russians is effective at stopping HE and small caliber AP, but also guarantees AP pens from CA at shorter distances and CB/BB at any distance when effective armor isn't thick enough to stop the shells.

    IJN high alpha guns have more value than one thinks - when you play around that with smoke and islands, they can be outright nasty. Add to that concealment advantage on hightiers and IJN DD might be one of the best cap contesters in division. And then there is Shima, which can be absolute [edited]to deal with with other DDs, which are slower and considerably outspotted. And can go with full gunboat build and still have 3x5 of remarkably hard hitting torps for targets of opportunity

    German 203mm are more than adequate to deliver citadel massage to broadsiding cruisers at most combat ranges, penetration might start failing against large cruisers, especially when they angle. On other hand, almost 2k per AP pen is hard to ignore, so, 12gun salvo of such shells, aimed pretty much anywhere else than main armored belt definitely fits into "hard hitting" in my book.

    Well, guns and shells are literally the same on Hipper class, Roon and Hindenburger. Turret goes from twin to triple though and then reload goes up a notch. I disliked Roon because it combined 2 turrets in the rear, combined with meh firing arcs and no 360noscope from Konig/Nurnberg. Hindenburg fixes that by giving you even amount of guns in both directions. And then you have two quad torps for additional brawling. And then there is beauty of 12gun salvos every 8s or so. AP won't score many citadels, but regular pens are more than nasty. And then 51mm HE pen. Firestarting is surprisingly good due to amount of shells you spit out.

  13. Only if AA wouldn't be completely automated. Because as patch 0.8.5 has shown, with high enough dps values AFK Minotaur proved to be damn tough AA platform.

  15. I still think AA acting more like accuracy/aim time debuffer for CV instead plane killer could work, with flak and sector having to say on the matter. Basically, CV against targets with AA disabled (or completely stripped off) would have nigh pinpoint accuracy and quick aim time. AA enabled and at 100% would bring dispersion and aim time roughly in line with current stats. AA overlapping would, with diminishing returns, slow aiming time, even more so with Sector thingy enabled. Flak instead "lol u ded" would act as stun for planes, temporarily stopping aiming on affected planes. Not quite sure what do with DFAA, but I think yeeting that one out and focusing on available for everyone Sector could work

    Just because I did that stunt once months ago, doesn't mean I suddenly have expertise at the matter. BTD turned into Skyraiders for Midway I did though and they still seem to work. Kaga seems to be broken, crashing the game upon loading. But to do so, I'd have to relearn all the stuff. "Show all ships in tech tree" mod refusing to load 2/3 of the premiums doesn't help with diagnostics. Funnily enough, WIP ships I can browse just fine For ship swap... I haven't tried to swap models and given amount of files needed to rewire, it will be enormous amount of work with "no idea" whether if it would work. Given Hipper -> Prinz, simpler task would be changing ship name, but a) haven't tried that b) you would have to redo mod after every patch, as IIRC you're altering translation file, so reusing old one might lead to... interesting results to say the least

    Buying advice

    Thunderer is somewhat glass in terms of durability, as she "enjoys" all-or-nothing armor used in UK/FR battleships, so anything with 32mm HE pen will have field day with you. In return, Thunderer doesn't have magic heal of the british or speed boost to disengage like the french, so mistakes might hurt. Guns are remarkably accurate, quick reloading (by BB standards) and hit like a truck on both AP and HE. But, good accuracy works both ways, as with bad aim chances of putting entire salvo into water only increases. In terms of making credits, Georgia beats Thunderer. And as mentioned, improved secondaries makes her viable for farming secondary hits missions that happen every so often.

    First impression on Oland, acquired with Free Exp powers and manned by Błyskawica captain with equally Błyska build of PT-LS-SE-CE-AFT-BFT. Not impressive turning radius and acceleration, top speed of only 35kts makes little room for positioning/torpedobeat mistakes Guns are okay - ballistics are on worse end, comparable to brit 113mm I think. Rear turret is 360 degrees so thats nice, what is not nice is turret traverse, barely able to keep guns on target. That and disturbingly short range on guns, 10km all the way till the end, 12km with AFT. Torps are... difficult to elaborate. Very fast at 80kts with torp speed upgrade, making them less susceptible for random course changes, very quick reload of 70s out of the box, but damage is meme tier and flood chance leaves something to be desired. 12km range coupled with speed as well "narrow" and "very narrow" spreads makes them workable, just don't expect many devstrikes. They are remarkably anti smoke tool though with their speed. AA... its not "AA powerhouse" yet, but slowly getting there. Won't stop rocket run if CV knows where you are, but ambushes with DFAA and Sector blazing can prove costly for flyboys.

    Seattle isn't "not as good per tier as Cleve" as she is straight downgrade over Cleve. Thinner, more exposed citadel, much worse firing arcs, slower turret traverse. Only thing going for her would be access to 6th upgrade slot

    Usually you take captain to next ship, while you start training new one on ship you've decided to keep. Be warned tho, Seattle is disappointing after Cleveland. Once you get 19lv captains, you start getting Elite Exp, which, alongside Free Exp you can use to train new captains. Which in turn becomes snowball effect, the more 19lv captains you have, the faster you gather exp and the faster you level up new captains

  24. Precisely why I'd check thermals, as prebuilt computers are build on absolute MVP - Minimum Viable Product.
  25. How are thermals? If cooling solution is inadequate (fan failure, mounting not holding properly or no/very wrong thermal paste) then core, be it cpu or gpu, downclocks HARD to not roast itself, which will be visible as noticeable performance loss. Other idea, games somehow run using integrated graphics card, but that would require plugging screen to motherboard video output instead graphics card one. Power supply issues should result in shutdowns/bluescreens than performance loss
