Alaska by far. Alaska have survivability - 27mm bow/stern, 36mm deck, underwater citadel. Alaska have American Piercing, decent AA and Radar for utility Azuma have slightly better accuracy and more potent HE, at expense of massively sticking out citadel, no "team" utilities besides usual Hydro or DFAA. Balanced ship in age of broken ones. Which means, mere "balanced" doesn't cut it, especially as for the same cost you can get Thunderer, delivering much more balans per displacement.

Furu have 6 guns too. But in very functional AB-Y layout. Stock Furutaka have only 2 barrels facing forward, half of the the upgraded hull or Aoba class and 1/3 total.

Myoko is still gold standard to compare CAs to. Heavy broadside, considerable payload of torps, hp, speed and 25mm/32mm hull/deck... well, 25mm is no longer unique to IJN CA of midtiers, but reinforced deck doesn't hurt. Kongo still have one of the punchiest guns, the best speed and range, lacking only in weight of broadside. But, compared to other T5 BBs, she have the best firing arcs, so can use all guns and remain relatively safe. She also doesn't suffer from joys of all-or-nothing armor, so her "thin" by BB standards plating can actually shrug off quite big munitions and stop HE shells.

You have sample of six single 203 guns on stock Furutaka and its absolutely mediocre setup. To make viable T6 CA out of that, you'd need massive buffs. Mikuma or other Mogami class 155mm as T7 prem is my speculation, once WG gets around and remove 155mm option from Mogami "to make ship consistent with rest of the line". And then, 155mm with IFHE at tier 7 retain 32mm pen, so just like Mainz, premium solution to artificial IFHE rework problem

Because russian grade RNG can be fickle. Like scoring 300ish hits on single BB with no fires in sight

And then there is RNG. I've lost count in how many battles I've got 300+ hits without fires in Smolensk or other "supposed firestarters"

Helena used to be MONSTROUS ship with old IFHE, but since changes IFHE is "damned if you do, damned if you don't" case, making Helena not as awesome. She is still fearsome firestarter without IFHE and 15gun broadside with AP is nothing to sneeze at when applied to all-or-nothing armored ships broadsides -

Cossack, excellent T8 destroyer that uptiers EXTREMELY well with her above average gunnery and 5.5km concealment, while the same guns and concealment is outright unfair plane against lower tier DDs. Anti Air doesn't exist, but you don't need one, as you have 7 smokes on board as very handy "oh " button or for occasional pew pew, without being locked to one place for too long. Excellent ship handling, long lasting brit hydro, quick reloading torpedo launcher, unfortunately only 4 fishes, so any excessively horny battleboat will get away from bumrushing you. -
This is part where you become slave to @DeviousDave02, because if he withdraws payment, your account will be locked until you pay for the gift Sometimes less is more, as any shells or shrapnels will pass relatively harmlessly through the plane without detonating. Obviously, pilot, fuel line or linkage to steering controls might suffer, but this is part where you add redundancies or add armor to relevant places.

And this seems to be reasonable approach - ikea torps already reload fast enough and I never had need for faster reload. Gun spec captain also can freely be used on Błyskawica/Friesland. On other hand full gunboat Halland keeps up with Daring/Harugumo in terms of gun dpm, which certainly can help when interacting with other DDs

This is part where normally you wouldn't put CV at the frontline but 5km+ away from the map border. But then, reducing cycling rate of air attacks would inevitably lead to increasing alpha damage, and that would bring us back to pre rework state

Tbh most planes fly their average cruise speeds, even when boosting. B7A, Shokaku torpedo/dive bomber could reach 300kts when pushed for it, SB2C from Lexington could reach 250kts buff rockets speed so much they can't aim at DDs

UK utility package will probably mean Yueyanging HARD Jutland/Daring. Waiting for WG to realize Lightning is a thing and to pull out Cossack "for balancing reasons" And then WG is perfectly aware how DDs are capable of carrying and they don't like it. Otherwise you wouldn't get so many fun and engaging means of countering DDs.

Cossack have one fishlauncher with 66s base reload and focusing on them, when you have so much dakka is kinda waste. And personally I have gun focused captain (PT, LS, SE, CE, BFT, SI, AR, PM) and as of now, running torpedo reload upgrade on Halland.

Nerf marathon continues. And I wonder when Jutland will go below Lightning reload Daring with 2.8s reload almost equalizes with Gearing HE damage output. Ship that also happen to have much meatier torps and actually team useful smokes.

Special ships do not have increased credit gains, unlike premiums. And Smolensk showing as "premium" is probably a bug, as she definitely doesn't have improved credit coefficient

Not happening as WG is aware of destroyers having too high impact on the game. I mean, when you see in spreadsheet situation, where team that manages to not throw all DDs by 5 minute mark have noticeably higher chance to win, it must be clear DDs are OP -
West Virginia is absolute overkill on most things you will face in T6 Ops, Warspite is more sensible pick. Also doesn't have 20kts top speed, which may be useful. Fuso is pretty much mainstay of T6 BBs - armored enough to withstand most HE, tiny superstructure, 12guns with decent accuracy and above average reload. Leander, Budyonny, Pensacola are IMO go-to T6 cruisers. London have some utility with smoke and heals as well. Trento is usable. Molotov have pretty good guns and high pen (by "CL" standards) but is absolute glass. I don't think destroyers are good on Operations, simply lacking gunpower to mop up ships fast enough and then quite a few cruisers carry torpedoes as well.
