Neither. French can be fun and exciting to play when there are no carriers or can be reduced to long range gunnery at best when enemy CV is present. European destroyers are on other hand low impact DDs that struggle to kill stuff fast enough and can't disengage immediately should fun knob go above eleven. And then "supposed AA trait" appears only on tier 9 and 10. Even then, you need to use your AA competently, as leaving it on will result with you getting rocket smacked anyway. Closest to UK "do it all" destroyers would be Aliexpress ones. Or USN, but then you will find lack of smoke on demand disturbing

Premium ships with tiers up to 9 have increased credit gains, tier 9 also comes with better permanent camo than tier 8 and below (+100% exp, -20% maintenance instead usual +50% and -10% respectively). Tier 9 ships also have benefit of not seeing tier 11, because there are none in this game For "getting the most bang for your buck", you could spend said coupon on doubloons and then spend those doubloons on premium ship from Armory with another -25% coupon. That or premium time when you feel like playing the game.

Repair party heals less the on B hull compared to A hull
Panocek replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
And are you sure you haven't run out of India Delta signals? Though numbers you've posted seems to be correct, but for other hull+SE skill as stock Skane+SE have 14550hp (giving 145hp/s) and top being 15450hp (154hp/s) -
Petropavlovsk can bowtank with the same 50mm plating everywhere, bonus points for better protected citadel when caught with pants down and WAY better concealment.

No discount on RU cruisers atm, so Moskva should sell for about 9.5mil. Any clan discounts AFAIK affect selling price tho.
-
Don't worry. T10 "premiums" cost 45k in repair, so you can play like absolute potato and still make money when doing so

Alternatively first for spanking.

If War Thunder is any indication, adding respawns would only lead to nice and cozy spawnkilling because teams fold as usual

Balancing those would be quality PITA. As battleship, they would be tier 6 materiel at best - Renown in her late war config packed about as much AA (in terms of AA mounts) as in game Queen Elizabeth, so you'd be trading one turret for speed. Repulse would be even worse unless WG theorycraft some what-if refit. Keep in mind, Warspite is a thing for fulfilling tier 6 BB niche. As "cruiser", you'd be dealing with inadequate AA by tier 8-9 standards unless artificially buffed. On top of that, 31kts top speed doesn't really cut it compared to existing Alaska/Azuma, though you might mitigate that by giving UK CL kind of handling. And given Siegfried is stuck in development hell, I assume even WG noticed putting 380mm guns on ship occupying cruiser slot isn't the best idea regardless what spreadsheet says. derp double post

Anchorage seems to be a reboot of ancient Buffalo, that appeared back in 2015. Though secondaries were changed into older type mod.29 behind main guns and wing turrets were changed into single open mounts. presence of 28mm Chicagos also suggest it might be "USN cruiser without AA" in prewar config.

Khaba UU, while it will reduce size of smoke you can create, doesn't shorten smoke duration. Thus its definitely "smoke oriented" build... and then you discover new and buffed Udaloi, which can reach the same 14.5km range, have better concealment, 10km torps, heal, smoke, engine boost and DFAA for good measure. Something for everyone.

You see komrade, real ships in paper line are a no no. You can go to gulag for that

Playing Aircraft Carrier in 2020 is just like...
Panocek replied to WG_IS_BAD's topic in General Discussion
While tier 4 is tragically bad when it comes to learning CVs due to next to no AA dps and flak, with tier 6 being where you start seeing an actual amounts of flak that should punish any maneuvering mistakes. Once you get hang of flak evasion, it should struck you how futile AA is when it comes to preventing aerial damage unless you literally bump into entire team onto single map square. Which is as designed, because if you can deny CV doing damage, whats the point of CV with no utility besides "hehe bombs go woosh" Imagine "you reap what you sow". You came up with buttsore, you received answers of equally high quality. Should you ask normally "what I do wrong" or "how do I carrier" and you would receive plenty of good answers -

The same way plenty of people get to tier 10 - just click "battle" button enough times. That is the only skill required. -

Best Tier VIII choice for ranked in 0.9.6?
Panocek replied to luokailk's topic in General Discussion
Not a Ranked player, but I assume Cossack/Lightning should do just fine with their concealment, solid guns and 7 samples of smoke to trigger carriers. Chapayev with long range radar, NC/Amagi still being solid. And obviously carriers, with emphasis on Shokaku, Enterprise -
Best credit earner? Maybe. But is she an actually good ship and fun to play at that? Not exactly.

Getting frustrated after about a week and a half playing
Panocek replied to xZExPISCOx's topic in General Discussion
Welcome to game as a service, where player engagement is key word That said, tier 9 ships are almost universally more expensive in terms of credits than tier 10, when you factor in modules costs like hull or gun fire control. Iowa, tier 9 US BB is no exception. And then Iowa isn't really an improvement over North Carolina - yes, guns have tad better muzzle velocity, thus ballistics and AP penetration is tad better, but as ship, she is a downgrade - no armor improvement, while you lose excellent turn radius for 33kts top speed. Speed you will rarely see unless running away from collapsed flank and with your pants on fire. Did I mention absolutely abysmal player quality at hightiers? There is no gold pot at the end of grind rainbow, but there is plenty of frustration, either due to credit shortages (unless you let WG go full Moby [edited] on your wallet) or complete lack of not only teamplay, but even will to play. Half of your team refuses to even attempt to challenge map objectives? Normal random behavior. So, yeah. Stick with ships you like or you think you might like at early/mid tiers. Not because hightiers are hard, but are also absolute mess. And then ship characteristic, their weight of salvo, DPM or other traits makes them more punishing when exploiting someone mistakes, so fun shenanigans you might get away at midtiers are unlikely to be repeated at high tiers. -

In era of broken ships, merely "reasonable" or merely "balanced" doesn't really cut it, does it?

Getting frustrated after about a week and a half playing
Panocek replied to xZExPISCOx's topic in General Discussion
Looking at last half year of WG marketing shenanigans, I'm afraid times of "spending only 60€ on a single ship" will become fond memory. Puerto Rico, Smaland, Hayate, all could cost you up to 200€. Or nothing, depending how you value your own time and sanity -
Getting frustrated after about a week and a half playing
Panocek replied to xZExPISCOx's topic in General Discussion
Frustration is part of "game as service" model, after all spreadsheet says tilted players are more likely to spend on the game And then, "only doing 1300 damage" means you're aiming tad too high, as you've overpenning stuff or you're adding too little/too much lead and you're making holes in bow/stern. After all, 406mm guns were designed to make holes in battleships, not cruisers with barely any armor. Unfortunately, due to desync (ship position you see doesn't match one on the server) which recently increased in size and frequency it can be annoying to get good guess how you should aim. And for "single player games" - well, it holds true in WoWs you play 1v23, instead 12v12, which always was, still is and with overall deterioration of the playerbase quality, will be the case -
Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
Panocek replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
While BBs actually prioritize firing at repair ships on auto play, that would require having salvo of one available instead, I dunno, spending it on command ship or to clear AA ships so carriers can stop being useless for a while. Or having battleships in first place in the (mob) fleet. -
