I really want more camouflage options - even if paying for them
Panocek replied to WarDax's topic in General Discussion
What about "custom paint tool" of sorts? Not necessarily create your own camouflage patterns, because that would require uploading user made content onto servers and god forbid WG putting effort in moderating that for sensitive content, but use existing camouflage patterns with rotate and resize tools and apply own colors to them, either from RGB palette or WG provided one. Also obligatory "randomize" button, maybe even with option to randomize camo every battle, so one can embrace RNGesus later edit Expanding on idea, detach economy bonuses from camouflages and move those onto signals entirely. I'm pretty sure WG can create set of new signals as economic replacements for rare camouflages, while players can apply "camouflage" onto ship with fixed concealment/dispersion bonus and then pick style of said camouflage based on previously owned paints, with new styles purchasable for credits/doubloons/whatever as well custom paint tool if they want to get creative. Just a thought. -
then go and play other games? Its not like WG holds you at gunpoint to play boats Or stop playing tier 10, there is fun to be found on midtiers, somewhat barren of long term potatoes who failed their way to tier 10 and stayed there. Bonus points for little to no radar and not as broken carriers.

Azur Lane held some time ago collab with Hololive. And then in the far east, whole "virtual youtuber" is kinda popular, so WG went on to get slice of that pie as well.

Or its purpose is to deprive players of their Free Exp stockpile

Flamu said that Siegfield is not a good ship, just okish

Siegfried stands out with 38cm guns out of 305/310 crowd. So, like Yoshino with torps, would be one reason to with her I suppose. -
Most players who see non DD with SE thinks "oh, another idiot" and tend to ignore you. Which makes for actually very effective concealment if you ask me
-
Primary issue with Brit CVs is they are entirely balanced by RNGesus whims. Fully aimed rocket strike on DD? 3 rockets (our of 36) on target. Panic mid turn rocket splat on the same DD later? 10 hits. Tier 10, Audacious, while no longer is handicapped in squadron size or replacement times, have severe lack of anti cruiser tools - rockets have only 27mm pen while bombs can reliably miss a continent, let alone cruiser.

New interface will take some time getting used to, but I've noticed one can't check armor plating thickness during ship preview
-
There isn't much reason to do so, as the moment you get captain to level 19, you start collecting Elite Exp, which then can be used to level up other captains. And for credit earning, very few ships have "improved" camouflages to spend on, thus tier 9 will be better pick in terms of making money. Jean Bart is gone, so no croissants for you. Brits don't have T9 prem, Germans are about to get two T9 large cruisers/lidl battleships, one for Free Exp and other for Research Points. One, if not both will probably also appear in the store as well. From captains from the armory, doubloon ones aren't really worth it unless you absolutely positively scream for that improved Expert Marksman or other skill. From Coal captains, particularly Kuznetzov is worth, albeit prohibitively expensive.

Taking arbitrary "AA rating" seriously in 2020

When was the last "Doubloon" discount in "Premium" store?
Panocek replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
WG probably replaced "discounted" doubloons with armory ship discount. That and rare coupon given on anniversaries or other nonsense. -
Only DDs that can actually hope to extract themselves out of radar range are french and maybe russian. Rest have to figure out some hard cover because usually radar will run out of duration before you get out of range
-
Kinda this. While Daring can be extraordinary tool for colonizing on sight, very unforgiving and outright unfun nature of T10 only games means Jutland is simply more fun.

The one you quoted in first place.

And have you checked date of the post?

What fun is, to play against an invulnerable (sub) ship?
Panocek replied to anonym_WHY4JO92xZKJ's topic in General Discussion
Max depth reduces damage taken, doesn't prevent it. On other hand being "surfaced" completely ignores depth charge damage. Yes, you'd be vulnerable to gun fire, but how many players will notice that and how many ships will be able to train turrets on you fast enough? Also you can try facetorping when balancing between gun shots and derp charges around 6m mark -
Personally I'd remove whole ping mechanic and go with different torpedo types for subs and switch between them just like you switch ammo on a surface ship. For example, Germans: -unguided torps (normal damage, normal speed, normal detection, 8km range) -acoustic homing torps* (normal damage, normal speed, high detection, 6km range, acoustic guidance) *torpedo guides towards nearest source of noise within 3km. Can be foiled by cutting speed down to 1/4 or stopping Russians: -unguided torps (normal damage, slow speed, normal detection, 10km range) -unguided torps (normal damage, high speed, normal detection, 5km range) US -unguided torps (low damage, normal speed, normal detection, 8km range) -unguided torps (low damage, low speed, low detection, 13km range) Issue with that would be sub vs sub combat, as Germans would have massive advantage there. Thus, either add torpedo lead indicator that can work in vertical as well or just give everyone unguided + acoustic homing torps, with latter having shorter range and high detection, so evasive maneuvers can be taken earlier.

Thats Wargaming balancing for you, fight broken with broken. Still, sub can (ab)use glorious depth mechanics (invulnerable to guns at 6m, invulnerable to depth charges at 5.9m) and try to torp at point blank. -

You see comrade, thats how you add new content and solve "too short battles" complaints from playerbase Still, recharge battery on surface only might be a solution. -

But you know you can outrun submerged subs even in beached stock Colorado? Sub HAVE to use ping mechanic to actually hope for torps to hit things when underwater, otherwise dumb fired torps will happily stay at their launch depth and miss their targets. And to use ping thing, you need battery. The same battery you drain when moving faster than 4kts You mean feature that was IIRC present in all submarine iterations? -
Whats wrong with ship/particle animations made by sound team?

Given both russians and americans squeezed nuclear warhead into 152mm package... Nuclear Worcester when? Just because you can IRL, doesn't mean you will in game.

Kildin class DDs were one of the first to be designed around SSMs though

Venezia turns "insane" for ship of her size, but in terms of numbers, she is, unexpectedly, worse than Amalfi. Venezia also for some glorious reason sits very low in water AND have icebreaker bow/stern unlike previous ships of the line

Main line of "gunboats" is powercrept by French. Sidekick of "generalists" is all over the place - Ognevoi is freaky torpedobote simply because 4 guns with 5s reload doesn't cut it by tier 8 standards, Udaloi competes with Tashkent for "open water jackass" role while having ALL the consumables and is scheduled to get 10km torps as well. Grozovoi is supposed to be "gun oriented hybrid", in practice you end up with ship that leaves something to be desired on all fronts. Germans are purposefully kept mediocre (low gun dpm, low torpedo damage, crap concealment, handle like a barge) to "balance" Hydro+Smoke combo, which can be extraordinarily annoying to deal with when trying to cap things. They are scheduled to get 1/4 HE pen, so they might get some purpose by pestering cruisers with their anemic HE. AP damage output is nothing to sneeze at though when you get opportunities to do so. There is no other DD line that comes close to utility and versatility of UK destroyers.
