What your average "CV OP REEE" player want is ability to deny first strike from carrier, thus completely deny damage taken from planes. Something that was possible back in RTS times and apparently WG didn't liked. But what the same "CV OP REEE" players miss are inflicted plane losses - if you knock down 5 planes out of 9. Yes, next same squadron type will be full, but any casualties inflicted means any next takeoff will be with incomplete squadron because reserves 404 not found anymore. And thats against single target. If you lose rockets on IJN CV, you're out of options against destroyers unless you somehow plant torpedo into one. And given completely automated AA, any "make AA great again" attempts will result with carriers lagging behind in average damage in spreadshiet and soon after in popularity. Which would end with AA buffs rolled back or CVs getting massive alpha buffs to bring "averages" to expected values. TL;DR damned if you do, damned if you don't

Only "AA skill" that can be considered useful would be BFT due to improving continuous dps, but even on "AA powerhouses" like Halland or Worcester we're talking about one, maaaayyybe two planes shot down extra. Improving flak with AFT is nigh pointless because even remotely competent CV players will avoid it, while DFAA is much better solution for improving flak. Manual Massive AA makes pinch of a sense on low AA ships, but since removal of stealth sniping it lost whatever value it had. On ships with decent dps values you're actually losing on AA as you're losing dps bonus from sector.

Still, there is some overlap on "new" and "old" content. And then WT doesn't even try to balance their own game, basically play (and whale for) flavor of the month or bite your pillow... again.

And yet, those few 12v12 BBs games I got into were definition of snorefest. When everyone are spotted and everyone can reach each other from caps... why press W?

To be honest, most upgrades and skills besides Concealment and Last Stand have so small benefits you would be hard pressed to notice the difference.

Funnily enough, its always "the other DD" instead your own EU line, or rather Halland in particular is purpose crafted DD solution to CV problem in T10 games, if not outright clan battles. In return you get slow and clumsy DD with torps for pacifists and guns that are handicapped by lack of smoke and gun range. And then US DDs gets another DFAA dps buff, should you actually equip it.

Though next time pay bit more attention who she fits more for cosplaying. That or spend more on characterization

When WG gets around to adding guided missiles, they won't add them on existing Iowa, but will be more than happy to sell you Iowa class with missiles as T10 premium

And amount of paper turrets, guns or kitchen utensils to design ship around is still limited Though AL could go with "new era" ships that would include guided missiles as w15+ content, if they decide to not give Enty two retrofits in meantime.

And they did with Suruga and Rossija. Even then, amount of paper designs to be based on is finite, even in russian archives.

Or you could keep tier 6 to 8 RU cruisers, given they are no slouches on their own both in Randoms and Operations I had more than enough exp stockpiled on Shchors to get Tallin immediately

You still need about 110k exp on Shchors if you want to start new line.

I'd say Arknights is more f2p friendly as storage for items and characters is unlimited unlike AL, where you will eventually have to expand dock or scrap characters. And given fictional setting, AK shouldn't have long term content issues into which AL start running into.

Even "single player" games with microtransactions like Azur Lane or Arknights have this issue. And Azur Lane, just like WoWs suffer from the same "running out of content" issue.

But when you got all the ships from previous event run, getting that one new addition would be nice.

Then you get WG grade middle finger and 400ish cubes aren't enough for character you're after. Only recently recovered them to 150 or so.

You still can buy cubes for gems.
