If anything, how come battleship grade guns, designed to perforate battleship grade armor can't delete battleships? Ah yes, artificial overmatch mechanic that conveniently protects BBs unless there is equally artificial tier difference as well purposefully lowered citadels, unlike cruisers, on which entire armored box does count as citadel. BB players are more than happy to camp, borderhug and come up with any and all excuses to not play aggressively even in 12v12 BB games. Without "those pesky cruisers, DDs, carriers, only big gun slugfest at 20km because why get closer"

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Panocek replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
You're not going to shot down anything of relevance with current non Halland AA, while, I suppose, 40-50 percent better aerial camo will be much more useful to play cat and mouse, only to end it with good ol smoke. With this change cruisers might get 3-4km aerial camo, so, you might be up in for a surprise should you bump into DFAA ready Wooster at 3km and not in position for immediate attack run. This change also might prevent aerial detection of battleships outside of their AA range -
ST, changes to AA and detectability ranges by air (DB 63)
Panocek replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Yes, ones that aren't under direct CV attack Besides, such tests should happen, I don't know, in 2018 when REEEwork was taking shape instead 1.5y after release? -
Or he just overdosed boats in general

If yours "WG decided" would hold any water, then BB AP wouldn't be able to casually shave half of the DD with "merely overpens" in one salvo. I wonder how IJN cruisers line up in your "WG decided", first cruiser branch together with USN and they carry one heck of a torpedo payload, convenient for *gasp* countering *gasp* battleships. Preposterous!!
-
Kinda this. Otherwise I wouldn't have topkek survivability in my most recent played DDs, bordering on 70%. You mean rock-paper-scissors that never existed in this game to begin with, besides ONE trailer?
-
Not every cruiser have radar. And then, very few cruisers have radar matching ship detection. Besides, if "radar cruiser" is in position to radar DDs, it means its usually overextended and ready to receive thorough and merciless spanking, or is tucked behind island, where you rarely can put guns to use.
-
Detected by cruisers themselves? Rarely.
-
How EXACTLY cruiser flex its "superior dpm" against undetected target that is usually faster, thus capable of dictating the engagement?
-
I wonder if constant adding of increasingly more accurate, hard hitting and overmatching battleship guns to the game have something to do with cruisers not willing to risk back to port on nearest occasion Besides, "cruiser hunting DDs" is a nice joke, in good deal of cases it requires DD to actually be potato enough to get themselves to be found.

ammo weight and propellant type from UAD type systems
Panocek replied to SkollUlfr's topic in General Discussion
Variable propellant charge to fiddle with shell velocity and thus AP pen could be a thing, but in practice it would mean everyone would go with overcharge unless it comes with significant reload penalty. Ammo load... you're physically incapable of burning through standard ammo load within 20min timespan, even if you were to fire constantly. Also I doubt reduced ammo loads would give any measurable advantages. Maybe 0.5kts speed improvement, but also raise citadel? If anything, most people would go extra ammo to hide citadel even further at speed expense -
Standard and SHS AP shells aren't that far off in terms of penetration, 30mm at best, while standard shells on Pensacola/Nope Orleans and soon to be Anchorage have shorter flight times than SHS.
-
https://replayswows.com/ would be one way. Besides, AP pen difference between 406 and 419 isn't big, and stock 406 overtake Iowa/Montana in terms of penetration past 11km. HE performance is also very similar, so if anything you can save exp on getting top guns. Welcome to all-or-nothing armored battleships. But, most BB grade munitions as long as they don't come from Yamato class, will probably deliver overpen damage as BB grade AP fuse needs quite a lot of effective thickness to arm the fuse.

I've skipped researching torps entirely on Yugo, as my main issue wasn't lethality or range, but inability to get myself into position without being shat on in the process one way or another.
-
While her turn radius is worse than on Kagero/Yugumo, her higher speed means she executes turns faster, thus tightening it will make sure you won't be able to keep turrets on target, as Shima already have hard time doing so with EM and MBM3.
-
Also all those convenient islands are effective torp blockers, while you can lob shells over them.
-
Rudder shift is already one of the fastest among T10 DDs at 3s, 1.5s from neutral to max. Turn radius is eh, but then Shima isn't exactly small at 130m long. I can't really think of any reasonable buffs, because I have feeling its not the ship that is the issue, but environment she is into. Maybe Brit/Pan Asian smoke, as this is one of the best CV counters, but thats something I'd like to see on all DDs.
-
Yugumo I've found to be an upgrade only in guns compared to Kagero, with meaty 4.5s reload in gunboat spec. But hp staying at T8 levels, coupled with still clumsy 35kts as well proliferation of radars/CVs wasn't making her fun experience. Shimakaze on other hand doesn't give gunnery improvements, retaining the same 4.5s reload while losing on concealment a bit. That said, speed improvement is nice and handy for getting into more torp friendly positions.

Georgia, does really have battleship armor layout?
Panocek replied to MNR1978's topic in General Discussion
Big superstructure says hi and overpens ignore damage saturation Especially from Alaska, which is incapable of scoring ricochets from 19mm superstructure due to overmatch -
I don't really care about Kitakami, but I'm certain WG can get... creative when it comes to crafting "controlled bugs". Or straight up official mission for "live test volunteers" when ship is at stage where no NDA is needed. Though knowing WG marketing department, they would more than love to sell temporary access to the ships
-
Based on quick training room shenanigans against bot CV, 20s spotting delay after AA opened fire isn't on live yet. There still is +-1s delay between planes entering AA range (based on UI) and AA actually opens fire

Not possible to collect both German Navy and Azur Lane?

Check what kind of container you've opened. -
The newt they (WG)invent anything (newer, any BB has torpedoes) to make money
Panocek replied to Dorulis's topic in General Discussion
I'm afraid you're like 4 years late, as Tirpitz is very much a thing in this game. And carries the same guns, torps, secondaries and is tier lower -
Never was. Yamamoto, Halsey, Dunkirk or any other captain never had in their development more than 19 points to spend.
