    Amount of times "working in progress" went to live without alteration is rather high. That seems to be the gist of it. To make premium vessels more interesting, as you can use existing captain instead raising a new one.

  3. From actually new "anti AA" skills for carriers you get only -33% flak damage reduction, which might be relevant for potatoes at best. CE no longer giver plane concealment bonus, which yeets stealth spotting from IJN TB and overall increases time to take evasive action against incoming planes. Also induces penalty to returning planes, so picking skill becomes highly questionable.
  4. On other hand, you kinda have to choose between +7% AP or fire duration. Or AR, as it will become 3pointer skill. If you get both, you lose something else.

When spreadshiet says your main customer is A1 humping Tsunderer driver... yes @Tanatoy Small idea - with current version of reworked skills, some skills are not available to other ship classes, so one can't spec survivability build for Large Cruisers nor cruisers armed with DD caliber guns can't extend their range. What if, keep all skills in one pool as they are now, available for all classes, but let captain have two-three-four skill presets and change them the fly? That way idea of single captain with multiple skill sets is preserved, but without restricting access to certain skills, which can be useful on some ships.
  6. On other hand new skill selection is highly questionable. Feels like whatever you pick, won't matter in the end, besides old LS-SE-CE build for destroyers.

I suppose thats the WG way to "curb" those pesky and bit too effective ship archetypes as well means to "nerf" them, to justify returning removed ships back into store Battleships gets no SI as you know it, closest to it would be new lvl 4 skill, where they get one heal and DCP extra. No extra MBRB, Radars etc

If I may add to "player concerns" - Expert Marksman equivalent of new skills. +20% on proposed skill is improvement over +0.7 deg/sec currently available on EM for guns above 139mm, but its substantial downgrade over 2.5 deg/sec on smaller caliber guns mounted in slower turning turrets, notably IJN torpboats. Even on DDs with "moderate" turret traverse of 10 degrees/sec (or 18s as portrayed in port) new skill will be an downgrade over old one.
  9. For the same reason DDs and cruisers are shat on as well. Smolensk will be nerfed? Technically yes. Will this nerf be an actually meaningful? No, because Smol reloads fast enough out of the box and can compensate for lack of AFT with range mod. Try doing that with Atlanta

    And technically they are. Issue is, the moment spotted guy opens fire (because he's spotted anyway) all spotting rewards effectively do to drain, because most WoWs maps are rather open unlike WoT with lots of vertical details breaking LoS. Probably you'd get much more if you were to spot someone sitting behind island or alternatively, blind entire friendly team with own smoke and then proceed with spotting

    Or, you know, "git gud" so you don't bleed credits when playing hightiers without premium content. Alternatively recover credits by playing mid tiers, thus populating them. In WoT it worked just fine and in early days of boats it also was the case. But Lesta decided at some point to let players play and fail at tier 10 with premium camouflage blessing.

    Torps are very easy to counter with good ol brain, let alone Hydro, Vigilance and what else you can throw. "Improved AP pens" on USN CA means you possibly can score AP pens... when BB is aiming at you with all guns. Not entirely the best situation. And it requires BB with all or nothing armor, as Ger/RU battleship will just shrug those puny shells off with upper hull. And thats assuming you don't hit turret or main belt. And you can't really fix randoms, because by very definition, first one to get ahead will be shot. Only way would to apply global scale gitgud to everyone, so everyone charge at the same time. Or go with some battleroyale thingy with ever decreasing playable part of the map. Yea, I'd go with the red dragon

    Doesn't solve issue of two ship classes being forced to rely on fire damage against battleship who learned to not show full broadside at every opportunity...

    Except it was exactly the case in first two years of WoWs, as hightier ships were considerably more expensive to play, with T10 carrier costing 270k when sunk + plane costs if memory serves me right. Ammunition was also considerably more expensive back then. But alas, WG bent under pressure of speschul people, thus anyone who can fail their way to tier 10 and can afford premium paint can play like finest potato field can produce and get away with it. The result being T10 being the most played tier by FAR, to the point WG had to hardwire MM rules to save tier 8 from constant uptiering. Besides, "oh so cruel WoT economy" was there from the very beginnings in 2010 and it was one of the reasons why Wargaming turned from backwater small company to worldwide corporation.

    Except it was WG reason of reworking carriers in first place. You might be fine with CVs being "giga unicum class only", but not everyone might agree with you. WG certainly didn't and whether you like it or not, you aren't the one who pulls the strings when it comes to game development.

    Currently you have sample how "average" CV player manages with "manual only" attacks... Manual only RTS would change nothing in this matter, which kinda defeats the point of making CVs more accessible.

    If you introduce manual drop on T7 onwards, you're simply pushing this magical boundary from tier 6 to 7. Besides, autodrops allowed potato players to do at least something when they failed their way to tier 10, as bottom of reworked carriers shows. And one of principles of the REEEwork was to "lower skill gap"... supposedly

    -remove manual drops across all carriers -limit TB and DB to one squadron of each, scale torpedo/bomb load with tiers. In return squadrons have shorter rearm time to solve "nuke" issue -give toggle for changing TB formation and DB bomb load when squadrons are on the carrier -replace fighters with "spotter plane" which is the only one capable of 3d spotting of enemies (instead minimap only) and buffs friendly ships accuracy if they are within 5km (so either do the spotting or do the buffing) RTS was IMO very much fitting for carriers and their unique nature of warfare, hamfisting them into "3d action" is just that, hamfisting square peg into round hole.

    WG sets detection to keep roughly constant 8s reaction time on non IJN, non FR and non deepwater torps. First two have around 10s, last ones have around 5s. Even "railgun torps" of Halland are easy to evade with good ol preemptive WSAD hax, even more if hydro is up. But you can and you should play "unfair" with your own smokes, even more so as Jervis have concealment advantage over all mentioned DDs. Skane while she does have heal, she also have one of the lowest hp pool of all T7 destroyers.

    Given most "gpu specific" drivers from manufacturers are repacks of original drivers with some fancy sprinkled on top, I see no reason why you shouldn't use original nVidia/AMD drivers.

    Imagine gun and projectile designed to defeat 300mm plating at 20km actually being TOO effective against plating that can be considered "thin" at the best of days. After all, rifle round doesn't obliterate paper target, simply makes nice clean holes

    Neither wows nor drivers nor windows care about whether you have fan or no on your gpu by default. But, there might some software, or rather bloatware that added itself alongside other programs which sends such push notifications about "check your fan" because it doesn't see any. Most programs for hardware monitoring won't bother you with such notifications unless you specifically set them to.

    With normal smoke you're bound to one place for some time, and if you leave smoke because, I dunno, entire enemy team is coming your way, you will be out of smoke for 2 to 3 minutes. Not entirely optimal should you get spotted by CV or enemy ship(s), while with fast reloading smoke you can just use it. Short range hydro and smoke are all about being selfish and for good reasons - randoms never were about 12v12, but 1v23, maybe 3v21 if you play in division.
