Bonus points for New Jersey making ripples in Azur Lane recently, so she can be monetized once more with weeb flavor

    YOSHINO'S ARMOR

Either you're mistaking ricochet (shell glancing off due to steep angle) with non penetration (shell stopped by effective armor thickness) or you're high, because again, you don't want "magic thresholds" to ricochets but you want them to stay as they are now (0-45 no ricochet, 45-60 rng, 60+ guaranteed ricochet for normal AP) And issue with "armor pen check only" is, shell normalization exists. And even weakest one, on BB calibers at 6 degrees is well enough to make even most extreme of angles to became guaranteed pen unless you bring 16 century grade cannons into the fight. 32mm/cos 89 degrees is indeed hefty 1833.5mm effective, but with 6 degrees normalization, it does down to measly 262.5mm effective, well within reach of any 283mm+ shell in game at basically all ranges. With 10 degrees normalization found on DD calibers against the same 32mm plate at 89 degrees, its 167mm effective, which in practice means 32mm bow would have hard time stopping DD sprinkling your nose with AP. While lowering normalization could be a thing, where do you draw the line? Because with existing "simplified" shell penetration being yes/no, at some point you will end up with exactly the same situation as we're now, with some battleships being effectively immune to each other when bow on, with few exceptions. At the same time, ricochet mechanics allow anyone without BB grade armor to actually shrug off big AP shells with so-called "skillful play" via angling - for example, 100mm plating, rather common among cruisers even at 80 degrees (74 with normalization) is only 362mm effective. It will held up against cruiser calibers just fine, but BB grade projectiles are going to basically ignore that plating. And ship in question is already almost bow on. TL;DR is, you can't just change one mechanic and hope for the best, you'd have to make entire shell-armor interaction from scratch. And I must say, given constraints as well most ship properties (plating thickness, shell penetrations, gun firing arcs), Wargaming made an actually thought out job with AP shell mechanics the first time for an arcade game. At the same time, I'm thoroughly convinced WG can't be arsed to do rework them nor I have any faith in them carrying out such REEEworks with any degree of success. Only change that could have been tested and possibly implemented without putting entire game upside down, violently, and repeatedly, is "overmatching shells can not arm the fuse", thus they can't deal pen damage unless they hit something armored. In return, cruisers would have their bow/stern/deck armor downgraded by one notch, that way Montana vs Hindenburg that is smart enough to stay angled won't be as frustrating for the former, ricocheting all the time, while the same Hindenburg won't be casually chunked for 10k+ just because Montana player got pissed and brought Ohio for a change.

    YOSHINO'S ARMOR

AFAIK overmatch as we know it, where shell diameter in relation to plating thickness does exist, obviously with way more variables than just 14.3 times caliber. At the same time, for "somewhat realistic" approach you'd skip bow/stern or even deck armors for shell interaction, effectively reducing ship hitbox into the shoebox, something you might already experience by playing Yolorado or New Mexico against any overmatching guns, though probably without being chunked for 8k+ from penetrations. Heck, even "icebreakers" probably wouldn't hold well against anything bigger than CL caliber At the same time, armor that withstood AP projectile probably doesn't stay in pristine condition, so some after effects like armor weakening or spalling should also exist, though latter is probably less of an issue on the ship than on the tank. While "gradients" to overmatch and ricochet would make some sense, in practice it would only bring randomness, instead binary (yes/no) mechanics we all got used to. Just look at WoT/AW, while there is no "gradient" to ricochets, randomized shell damage/penetration as well fluid spotting can be both exciting when you roll high damage and frustrating when you fail to penetrate on what should be "solid penetration".

The return and economic nerf of Missouri.

Maybe, but I've found Georgia to be way more consistent at making credits. Trolly 406mm guns are just that, trolly and 406mm aren't cutting it against not completely clueless T10 cruisers.

The return and economic nerf of Missouri.

Probably not At the same time, ship didn't aged well with the game, being effectively powercrept by all metrics by Georgia, especially in "fun" department.

So you want ricochets to be gone but you're fine with variable ricochet angles?

    404 brains.exe

Well, I've meant you need to score 12 kills AND 12 torp hits AND 12 citadel hits for task to be completed because glorious programmerings

    General CV related discussions.

I'm positively convinced horse called "CV REEEwork is broken in so many fascinating ways" is so pulverized at this point it ascended to godhood by now. Then raise tickets to WG support about server stability, unless issue is on your end, either due to patchy wifi connection or ISP having a stroke. At the same time, desync was affecting surface ships with varying severity for as long as I remember... so working as intended comrade

    General CV related discussions.

If "DD protection" would actually exist, then people would flock to them to play "ez" class... which is not the case, as battleships hold firm superiority in terms of battles played, while destroyers reign supreme in terms of how fast one can return to port. "meta" doesn't exist because players agree to play one way or another, instead players in great majority of cases go with path of least resistance. Which so far, almost universally involves rather big guns mounted on big hulls
  12. IIRC patch starts at midnight and maintenance lasts 5h. Preload is available for day or two by now

    The torpedo paradox

Kamikaze twins when they were introduced were seen as "meh copy of a tech tree Minekaze" back then. But the moment WG took those 7km 68kts torps away from Minekaze, suddenly they became "OP" ships
  14. French BBs from Richelieu onwards have Engine Boost. Not so much for top speed bonus, but acceleration one is handy on a battleships. Similar story with French cruisers, especially from tier 8 onwards they can be fast for "repositioning" as well juking shots in open waters with Engine Boost active. Italian cruisers and battleships have their gimmick smoke, which can be handy as "oh " button for tactical gtfo, cruisers are also surprisingly fast and nimble for their size.

Game loading like 3 times over

1)launch game in safe mode to ignore mods 2)carry out game repair 3)reinstall game If noticeable slowdown is present across the board (slow system startup, other games loading slow) then either hard disk is on its way out (mechanical ones, SSDs tend to die instantly without any telltales) or Windows could use some cleanup, preferably reinstall.

    The torpedo paradox

Or its residue of WG balancing hammer from early days, when "20km Shima spam" was deemed by Wargaming as no bueno, so they axed torps in entire tech tree and spawned "OP premium" when doing so (Kamikaze twins)

    T10 Russian CV - Nakhimov

Blyatwagons supposedly also have "rocket boosters", so close-ish parked hull should have faster plane turnover. What is actual speed when fireworks are on, no clue.

    Chapayev commander skills

Issue is, Wargaming to "promote captain build diversity" went with "which skill is least useless" approach. Thus, practical difference between 10pointer and 21pointer is going to be marginal once you have best skills covered. Destroyers are in somewhat similar spot - once you get "mandatory" skills, actual gains from most skills are superficial at best and situations where "if only I had skill X, I'd win this" would be extremely rare. If anything, you could move your best captains to other classes that could make use of extra points, with battleships coming to mind - secondary build went from "highly situational on select few ships" to basically useless, while survivability one was nerfed as in made more expensive in points.

    Chapayev commander skills

The same story as in your Tallin captain topic - get Concealment and you're golden. IFHE since nerfs and then proliferation of battleships armored enough to withstand even IFHE'd HE shells made that skill effectively pointless, while basic 30mm HE pen is enough to handle most cruisers.
  20. Lesta made 220mm guns with penetration of an actual battleship guns once, so they can do it again "for balance reasons". That or being testbed of main guns of varying calibers and reload time. Or heck, controllable secondaries WoWs Blitz style.
  21. Panocek

    Tallinn commander skills

Tbh only captain skill of actual relevance is Concealment Expert. Priority Target is useful if you're used to it, Superintendent can be useful for extra radar and then heals, once you move onto Riga/Petro. So 10pointer with [whatever skill you consider least useless, though Petro might need extra turret traverse] Priority Target Superintendent or Adrenaline Rush (both?) Concealment should work just fine. Anything on top will be just "nice to have, but hardly gamebreaking" extra.

Detonations. A poll to help WG hear the player base

Well, if they can monetize the fluff out of "player feedback" without much investment to begin with... why not. You know, copy/paste premium ships to save on modelling time, removing economy/combat bonuses from achievements to combat "grind is too fast" complaints or "captain skill could see some updates, here is REEEwork that needs you to fork out 1.2m exp to get worse version of what you had before" Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Fenyang/Yoizuki happened mostly because of my suggestion of "just ctrl+c, ctrl+v Akizuki into PanAsian and call it a day for ship that actually existed for once" back in the day. Well, I don't think there are many people who would ask for premium Akizuki clone?

And paid solution to detonation problem is already contributing to their bank account balance, so odds of Detonations going away are... unlikely.
