Give Scharnhorst the Cruiser accuracy or alpha it deserves.
Kartoffelmos replied to Cpt_Mooney's topic in Battleships
According to the other thread, Hydro is not a big deal on battleships, so I propose that Scharnhorst receives that consumable instead of better gun handling. -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

Battleships had too much durability, was it? So, not only stealth firing but also the general firestarting ability had to be removed/nerfed... A happy new year to all non-battleships, I see... -
Wait, am I that unpleasant? (at least I hope that it is a typo :< ) Sadly, I do not remember the game but I have a suspicion that it was after one of my losing streaks: at those times, I focus more on team compositions and will often miss familiar names. Sorry about that. If my PC wasn't busy updating to Windows 10.2 (or whatever), I would try to find the game. As for the London port, I quite like it. Contrary to New York which I find bland and boring, the port has a lot of character and nice details (but I have no idea about the historical accuracy). I only wish that it had a different police siren and perhaps some unique music.

By using lots of lubricants . I don't think that little details like the ship being too big to fit is what Bagel is looking for though.

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?
Kartoffelmos replied to bigbramble's topic in General Discussion
quoted post removed It must be the holiday spirit! I'm disappointed in WG EU since they apparently have learned nothing after the Kamikaze R-fiasco, but I'm also questioning why they took the "extra effort" to remove the missions just so that we could get the luxury of using our wallet. Even from a business perspective, handing out the Graf Spee for free but not creating any incentive for players to buy the ship (after all, WG is selling her) is idiotic at best. -

Kartoffelmos replied to bigbramble's topic in General Discussion
This. There's also the issue that the NA players can get everything for free if they finish the Graf Spee missions quick enough. To top it off, the achievements for completing the convoy missions are included in the EU client (just checked and they are there), sooo... well done WG EU, you outdid yourself this time . -
No, it has been that way since closed alpha, just like the removed "3-second-rule" of Situational Awareness... Seriously, information from iChase should be taken with a pinch of salt, especially with regards to "advanced" game mechanics (same with Jingles, actually). As for the destroyers themselves, they get decent torps (and Hydro which might be somewhat too good) so I will see for myself if I really need the stealth fire to perform in them.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Kartoffelmos replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
To be fair, it seems to me like they interpreted the question as "Can you open a crate at a later date and get new rewards that weren't available when you initially received the crate?" since the answer focuses on new content and whatnot (and not on supercontainers/determined rewards). -
Something really needs to be done about the Bismarck.

"KV-1S is balanced, it just so happens to be the most played tier 6 tank (by far) on all servers because... reasons"* "German battleships (alternatively battleships in general) are only popular due to the historical aspect while the Japanese destroyer line (pre-nerf) was popular because it was OP/broken/easy-mode" Nothing wrong here at all, move along! *For you non-WoT/new players, KV-1S was an extremely OP vehicle that was allowed to stay that way because it was played by a lot of terrible players that had heard/read that it was OP but didn't know how to play the game. It only took WG 3 years (and a more advanced way to analyse statistics if rumours are to be trusted) to fix the issue... -
Didn't you leave like five times already? Also, I'm pretty sure that you "owe" some money due to a lost bet... Lastly, 0/10, please try the tutorial.

Kartoffelmos replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Yaaaaayyyy... And even better, it seems like they are planning to simply remove the feature and then see what happens . -
I wasn't really referring to balance issues (or non-issues), but the fact that the server was flooded with the damn things. Since we already have a boatload (høhø) of battleships already, the release might prove problematic due to the IJN BB players who have been starving for a proper premium battleship. Wait, when did those two get added to the game?! I can see the ship work at tier 6 if it gets balanced properly, but the guns might prove to be problematic due to the overmatch mechanic. As long as we don't get a "pre-nerf Arizona" again, I will be happy.
-
Let's hope that we don't get another Tirpitz situation with this ship (after all, she is the first IJN prem-BB). I don't think we need even more battleships at tier 6 and above...

Maybe someone can answer this three Questions
Kartoffelmos replied to DeletedUser's topic in General Discussion
We can't see them. They're supposed to be an indicator on how well/bad you are behaving yourself on the forums and are issued by moderators whenever you break the rules (after a warning, I'd believe). Not sure about the second one, as I don't visit the German section. Correct. You received camouflages that you shouldn't have received and WG removed them at a later date. -

Arguably the Royal Navy (due to the phrasing of the comment): You also have the original comment which Octavian responded to: -
I think that you shouldn't waste your ship in a standard game mode since your team actually needs the points. () Hard to tell without a replay or a better understanding of the situation. For all we know, he could have launched torpedoes well within your field of view (or even behind your ship) while you tunnel-visioned or ran into them when you normally would have been fine if you hadn't done something highly irrational as a suicide ramming attempt at the very start of the game.

Weekend Special: Happy Holidays Preparations
Kartoffelmos replied to indefatigable's topic in General Discussion
As far as I know, Belfast isn't in the tech-tree and therefore you cannot buy her with doubloons. As such, she is not part of the sale/special. -
Seriously WG? Since WoT you still can not make a good MM?
Kartoffelmos replied to Rozbrus's topic in General Discussion
And here I thought that it was the destroyer balance that was the issue and not the tier difference. Oh well... -
Dear BBabies, Stop being terrible at this game and start going after the objectives. Kind regards, Everybody else

One on One - Battleship vs Cruiser
Kartoffelmos replied to Sterling_Archer_UK's topic in General Discussion
Either that or you live in different time zones . In any case, I think the battleship would have won most duels (though, Hipper's citadel placement might have yielded some problems). -

Marvin will probably post the Twitch link for the finished broadcast . -
Well, my case was a little different. I noticed two torpedoes coming towards me in a high-tier game quite some time ago. Naturally, I figured that the rest had hit an island (since no ship at that tier range had access to double launchers) and easily positioned my ship outside harm's way. Then it turns out that there was a third torpedo of the realistic long lance kind: my ship got the torpedo hit effect (and damage) without any visual collision. So yeah, great fun. I knew that desync was possible when you lanch the torpedoes (as well as "dodging" due to the detailed models), but I thought that the server-client connection would prevent that from happening with torpedoes from other players. And since I already was errr... contributing to the thread, why not confirm my experience to be possible?
-
Although most have been answered, I believe that if you press the middle mouse button instead of the left mouse button (or whatever you use to fire your shells), the game will track your shells from the instant they are fired. At least, that's how it used to work.
-
You meanie! :< I do have one serious question though: can torpedoes desync? As in that the torpedo won't show on your screen or is in the incorrect position? I believe it has happened to me once, but I'm not sure if I was merely being unobservant. Also, do we (still) have some decent map guides? Like where BBs should and shouldn't go, which caps that are considered "failplay" and whatnot? Would be informative for new players. I know you link to those from WG in the OP, but some of them are quite outdated. EDIT: Never mind, my memory seems to be faulty: the oldest map guide is "only" 6 moths old .
