Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Alternatively, just follow my example and wait until the 8/9th of January before you do the last mission of Science of Victory. Yes, I'm as cunning as I'm stingy .

    Invisifiring - A simple solution.

He has ten times more games in tier 8 than you have. He also have tier 9 and 10 ships/games, as well as having more games in tier 8 than tier 4/5 (something you don't), so what's your point exactly? Don't tell me that you only looked at top ships without looking at the tier/games played distribution? The issue I have with this is that the same logic can be applied to destroyers (you need another destroyer/carrier to spot one) so I fail to see why team work is required for one class but is suddenly bad for the game when it comes to a situational tactic employed by certain ships. In any case, I do not understand why stealth-firing should be removed before addressing the elephant in the room that is the BB-heavy meta.

    Invisifiring - A simple solution.

The point was lost at sea, I see. You can't just claim "muh realism" in one scenario and then completely ignore it with everything else. Fine, remove stealth-firing because it breaks immersion/is unrealistic, but then you'll have to have more RNG on BB guns due to the same reasons and carriers should also be much, much stronger than what they are now. You know, because it is realistic. More things we need to add: Less manouvrable battleships Less battleships in general since they were expensive Torpedoes should wreck most ships No instant repair, and no healing at all More sailing before reaching the enemy Battleship-free zones near islands Realistic acceleration times (this one will undoubtedly be fun) Etc., etc.
  4. Isn't one more charge good enough though? I like this change since getting one extra charge and a considerable cooldown reduction was too much of an improvement over the regular version. At the same time, since I had no issues with the economy of the old system, I'm slightly disappointed that my try-hard equipment will be nerfed . Will be fun to see the reaction to the anti-fire BB brigade who will use this as an excuse to "nerf fires" but with the new Demolition Expert, WG has acted proactively (although I do not think that they had this in mind when they changed the skill).

Era of US dd OPness over?

    Yes.

    Secondary Targetting

Heh, I've always used that combination (due to the similarity of the "lock turrets" hotkey). Oh well.
  7. Kartoffelmos

    Secondary Targetting

CTRL + P. This deactivates your AA and secondaries (I cannot think of any reason why you want to have your AA/secondaries active and not having a target focused). Pressing the same combination again (or focusing a target) will activate them.

    Gotta love the children

To be honest, I don't really care all that much about the thread but I found the "logic" of the OP quite silly. Having said that, I like how she ate the poipoipoi by sailing into them instead of dodging .

What I've learned in this thread: I can complain about the playerbase based on an isolated incident, since the players involved in said incident belong to the playerbase. As such, the state of the WoWs playerbase is sad/bad since it includes judgemental and narrow-minded individuals. Oh wait, those players are not representative of the playerbase (nor the state of the playerbase) since they are an extreme minority and therefore my earlier statement would be misleading. What a shame. I better start throwing personal insults to make my case better.

Yes, those riffraff beta testers have no class. Fools, imbeciles and tossers, the lot of them! Back in closed alpha, we did not have any such nonsense!
  12. Met gr0pah who managed to carry me after I got focused down by two Leningrads and an Atlanta in a division (while all the ships behind me refused to give support for some reason). Lost my rudder twice and due to that, I managed to beach myself whilst dodging torpedoes. After that, the enemy shelled my location for about 10 seconds after my SA went off. Great fun .
  13. (At least it won't be super-easy-mode to dodge torps now, though I'm a bit unsure if the difference will be all that noteworthy)
  14. Don't need the new skill for that, everybody knows that they're at the B cap anyway . (Sorry, I had to)
  15. People are unable to see the capture points every day ingame. This is nothing. But yes, why wouldn't you pick this skill with every class? - Cruisers will pick it to have a semi-radar 24/7 and as a tool to see if it is safe to stealth fire/push, if one should chase the destroyer or retreat, etc. - Destroyers will use it to contest caps, torp smoke, chase each other, etc. - Battleship will use it to pre-aim at hidden cruisers or to dodge torpedoes. - Carriers? Eeeh... (Is it even working for them? Not sure if I should interpret the skill as not "targeting" carriers or if carriers cannot see if they are being "detected") I wonder what happened with "we do not want skills that give too much of an impact" which was stated with/after the AFT/BFT nerfs...

Here you go, not sure if there is a larger version available:

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Ph3lan, on 27 December 2016 - 06:34 PM, said: We considered this experimental double-campaign approach used in other regions and saw flaws in it. The double-campaign system does not cater to our audience in the usual manner we prepare offers. It was experimental and as we were not convinced it would work with benefit for the general audience, we decided to opt out of this part of the End of Year activities. So despite all the other servers trying it out, you were not convinced that it would work? I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one, but I'm not convinced: the reasons for this will be given below. Except said period would come after the eighth of January (at the earliest), a time not really known for family time, Christmas or New Year celebrations. As such, every player would have nine-ten days to complete the missions. As it is now, only paying customers have the option of getting some of the items, the rest is either unavailable without grinding (tech-three ships) or using doubloons. So instead of limiting the prizes to top players, you limited them to players with a doubloon reserve and removed the rest (effectively limiting it for the entire player base). Your decision to remove the event contradicts therefore with (one of) the reasoning(s) behind the removal. First of all, see the above regarding family time. Second of all, the content is not cheap, nor is it available without time investments if you consider the tech-tree ships which were also excluded. As such, the content is still limited to certain parts of your player base. Lastly, "disconnected from bundles"? Are you seriously writing/implying that we should be grateful for the fact that you didn't sell the items in bundles when the other servers had the option of getting them for free? I hope you are not referring to non-WoWs activities, but can you honestly say that you are surprised with the reaction? It's not like there hasn't been any shitstorms regarding unequal treatment previously. For instance, you have the Kamikaze R-lottery fiasco which clearly showed how the community feels about the very issue and even though the result and general impression of the special was positive, the controversy left a bad taste in the mouth of many players/forum-users. This is where I personally fail to understand your logic. You say that any event plannings requires a meticulous analysis, yet the decision to remove this event seems to have happened without this analysis. One might even say that the removal happened rather hastily. How else can you explain that you didn't predict the reaction from the community, the fact that the achievements for the second campaign are still in the game or that some of the content was translated into the Polish language? To top it all off, the situation right now is far too similar to the Kamikaze R-travesty, which actually means that you have learnt rather little and this doesn't bode well for the following year either. Now, you can clearly see why I'm not convinced by the statement and even worse, I'm not sure if I should feel slightly insulted by your illogical argumentation. I will end this "rant" by apologising to you, Ph3lan, if you feel offended, as my intention was not to criticise you, but rather the person or persons that decided that this entire thing was a good idea and who most likely wrote the "quoted" text (or the argumentation/reasoning behind it). I have also used a good deal of money on the Santa event, as I found that to be genuinely fun (although not good for gambling people -.-') so I'm not writing this as a player who merely "wants free stuff" (as, if I recall correctly, was stated in the past regarding complaints about unequal treatment), but as a player who wants to be treated the same as everybody else and have the same options as all the other non-EU players.
  18. You mean like how WG has addressed the BB meta since "no one" is playing cruisers? I will try it out if I can download the test server, but I suspect that my opinion won't change.
  19. I like how the "Radio Position Finding" skill will make my Zao the best radar cruiser in the game. Who needs the exact location when you can torpedo those little underage ships in smoke? But seriously, the concept should have been scrapped the moment it was suggested. I too have a skill that I would like to have implemented: Fire panic: Fires caused by dive bombers or HE-shells will automatically disable all AA of battleships (4 points). I cannot see any problems with it. It's not like it will negate one major strength of another class or anything.

    Christmas-achievements

Standard crates has a 1% chance of being a super container, you know. And no, I was 500 XP (and still am) away from my next container so that was not it either. So yeah, my non-SC streak has ended but I can't say that I'm overly happy with the result (got enough camouflages from the Santa event -.-').

    Christmas-achievements

Well, I got a super-container with 50 Ocean Soul camouflages just now. Was I only lucky (Why didn't you give me a ship, you cheap b******s?!) or was/is it the same for everyone else?

WG INSULTS Royal Navy and UK - what is going on?

Take it easy, it's just how the flags are textured in this game (saving client size by using the same texture on both sides). From port: From starboard: EDIT: Or maybe I'm just silly (should stop posting this late ) and the original image has been mirrored (before placing it on the advert) without thinking of the consequences. Oh well...
