My Tirpitz says different, it struggles but can handle Tier 9 Battleships.

Scharnhorst: At Tier 6 or 7, the Scharnhorst 11" guns are still effective at penetrating a Tier 8 with a good Broadside. The Torpedoes it carries is also pretty good for a Battleship, or a cruiser at that tier, being 2x 533mm Drilling Armour of the Scharnhorst forces it to the tier it will be at. KGV At tier 7, it will still have the capability of penetrating most ships at Tier 8, with no chance of doing that to a tier 9 with a good Broadside, even the New Mexico can penetrate the North Carolina and Tirpitz without any real trouble. Point one really is the only one I need for the KGV. Most I Battleships in game are capable of penetrating ships of at least 1-2 tiers above it where the KGV would not have this ability. The only thing you'll be left with is World of Warships very own KanonenJagdpanzer, a Tier 7 trying to act like a Tier 8. And if it does turn out that I am correct, please do remind to type "I told you so" in your whine threads.

And Yamato Armour with 12" guns would mean the ship would have 6-8 Triple or Quadruple gun turrets at best with the size of the ship.

You certainly wouldn't be creating a Cleveland situation at all. And KGV is a Tier 7 ship, not a Tier 8 ship unless you gave it 15" guns. But I'm just glad you ain't one of the Devs.

I certainly wouldn't say 2x the power of Warspite.Some of the AA rating is from Range, rather than the guns. Even with range added to it, it's around the same as a fully upgrade Colorado.

14" guns, 8 Quintuple 2 Pdr AA guns (4 more than the Warspite at Tier 6), 20mm Oerlikons were only added in 1945 so not necessarily included in a premium, 10x 40mm Bofors, it's AA essentially would be under 60, only things really going for it is Decent AA, good Armour and Speed, which is very Tier 7 to me with exception to armour. Only way it would be Tier 8 material, is if they give it the 15" guns.

And? All of that doesn't mean it's Tier 8 material. And North Carolina is restricted by the Panama Canal hence why it's longer and less armoured.

From what I can find, only the main belt and deck is stronger than the NC, doesn't mean it should be tier 8. So I'm sticking with Tier 7 imo.
