What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017
SeaMonsterUK replied to mr3awsome's topic in General Discussion
If we do it sensibly though, it's most likely going to be a design of battleship with 3x4 406mm guns, either 45 or 50 calibers in length. -

Personally I'd put the "Magonate" at Tier 10, fictional Battleship, basically an enlarged Alsace armed 2 triple (fore) and 1 quad (aft) 18" gun turrets -

That makes no sense, Strasbourg was the sistership to Dunkerque with the same exact main and secondary weapons. -
What's the best way to use the Colorado-class BB?

I've been playing on and off. But I do keep active on the forums too. -

That tactic also depends on the position of allied ships. Best thing a BB is to do is go in with support from the Cruisers. -

My aim's already good in terms of a BB, just wish I could swap out the Artillery Plotting room. And in comparison, that extra gun helps you get hits. Worse spread per range, but the extra gun per turret really helps. -

Your shells don't always pen the target, some over pen, and the situations where you got the ship perfectly zeroed, and all your shots go either side (that last part really goes to all BB's). -

I might hit more if the guns weren't so bloody terrible. -

Pretty much, I've tried with the Colorado, even when upgraded, it just doesn't last long at all, I'm able to get 60K+ damage with the NM but not even 20K with the Col. -

Colorado is completely pants in comparison to the NM. -

With the Colorado you can't get close to anything. -

I've had more fires with the Col than with the New Mex, especially around the Stern. -

In anycase I can see the Jean Bart as a premium tier 8 in very much the same way Tirpitz is currently tier 8. Or Tier 7 lmao 17x2 5" guns 20x4 40mm Bofors -

Lyon-class as double the guns of Dunkerque, tier 6 would be putting it too low, tier 7 it should be. -

How would the French Battleship tree work? As looking at their ships, it would most likely start at Tier 4 rather than 3 with the Courbet, followed by Bretagne, since you got the Dunkerque already, you can perhaps put in the Strasbourg or Normandie at Tier 6, followed on by the Lyon, Richelieu and Alsace. Still leaves nothing at Tier 9-10 though. -
Hello everyone, I'd like to post a suggestion, a proposal for a possible improvement to carriers, including the ability to customise your squadrons as well as the reorganisation of Deck Aircraft based on their slot These pictures, using paint, should give the general idea, using the Saipan as an example. Customisation of aircraft: The customisation of Aircraft is something that I really want to see in the game, something which hasn't come due to balance reasons, but I believe I have a simple solution to solving this issue. each slot would be able to have specific aircraft, for example on the Saipan and most American carriers, the first slot will exclusively be for fighters, where you may on carriers like Bogue, have a slot which is universal, capable of carrying 1 of either 3 of the aircraft ingame. Each icon would also receive a number, marking how many aircraft, deck and stored in the hanger, are in that particular squad. This way, it will allow players a little more freedom on choosing their loadouts, with the number of slots being determined by the Flight Control upgrades. Deck Arrangement The deck arrangement would also change, based on the slot, where the deck aircraft will be placed, for instance, on Saipan, Slot 1 at the top will always be for fighters, with slot 4 at the back, and the rest in between, allowing for a more historical late war configuration of aircraft, and presenting the order they would normally take off in in real life. Hope you like my suggestion, as I believe it would be very welcome by CV captains.

I disagree, some imbalance is needed. -

Seems you are 3 light years off the mark. As each slot would be limited to specific aircraft types. -

The DB set up is the stock Flight Control, though personally I feel that only seems to limit the carrier's ability just for a better DB squad. If this got in, I'd probably say it won't get the huge squadron of DB's anymore but would get an extra slot for fighters or dive bombers, the the last slot being exclusive to Torpedo Bombers. So Slot 1: Fighter Slot 2: Fighter/Dive Bomber Slot 3: Fighter/Dive Bomber Slot 4: Dive Bomber/Torpedo Bomber Slot 5: Torpedo Bomber -
Carrier Aircraft Consumables and deck placement

This is just a rough example in the images on a Saipan with 3 aircraft per squadron, rather than a Midway's 6 per squadron, so logic would say only 1 squadron on the last slot for all US aircraft Carriers, with the exception of the Saipan. -

Don't think that would happen. -

Considering that would be be post war ammo, it is quite plausible.
