There are 4 designs of the Lion-class that can fit between Tier 8 and 10: Lion 1938 - Tier 8 (3x3 16" Mark II) Lion 1942 - Tier 9 (3x3 16" Mark II) Lion 1944 - Tier 10 (3x3 16" Mark IV) Lion 16E-38 - Tier 10 (4x3 16" Mark II) And also a possible tier 9 and 10, one design existed, one* didn't: Battleship X - Tier 9 (2x3 16" Mark IV) Battleship X* - Tier 10 (3x3 16" Mark IV) This is on top of other Battleships from Tier 8 to 10: Fast Battleships: J3 (3x3 15") G3 (3x3 16") K3 (3x3 18") Slow Battleship L2 (4x2 18") M3 (3x3 18") N3 (3x3 18") Main Battleship Line (2 Tier 10 Battleships) Lion 1938 (3x3 16") Lion 1942 (3x3 16") Lion 1944 (3x3 16") Lion 16E-38 (4x3 16")

I just hope WG use their brains. If they are smart, they'll start with a slow BB line first with Revenge, Nelson, L2, M3 and N3 from tier 6 to 10. Tier's 3-5 are pretty obvious, with Bellerophon making more sense as a standard ship and Dreadnought as a premium, Orion or KGV at Tier 4 and Iron Duke at tier 5.

Britain has 5 candidates in for tier 10 anyway. I3 (3x3 18" Mark I) N3 (3x3 18" Mark I) Lion 1945 (3x3 16" Mark IV) Lion 16E-38 (4x3 16" Mark II) Incomparable (3x2 20" Mark I) All are paper designs and requires no need for a fantasy Battleship.
-
As far as I'm aware there is no such design with 14x15" guns. British Tier 10 Battleships in anycase will likely have an armament between 16" and 18" guns.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017

Iowa conversion would have been USS Lake Erie iirc. -
Spamming HE and the Dive bombers isn't really the same as saturating a large area with bombs.
-
At no point did I say whether you thought the Lancaster would be player controlled or not. You don't know what Carpet bombing is? LOL! Planes sinking DD's with HE Bombs, those planes are Dive Bombing for precision bombing of a target. And you can't carpet bomb, simulated or not, with a Gearing OR Atlanta as neither can fly and neither carry bombs.
-
We don't even know if Lancasters will be useable in game. They may even be in the game files for an event. And I don't lack experience, it's historically well known that Carpet bombing does not work against a moving Warship, and even worse vs a Destroyer.
-
Tallboy was only used against one ship, and numerous U-Boat pens and V-1 and V-2 sites. They were never designed to be used against ships and carpet bombing is not effective vs naval vessels (see Battle of Midway).
-
I just wish they would add high altitude Bombers of the ability to change the armament in battle for planes that could act in different roles.
-
In the final engagement it was a Royal Air Force Coastal Command PBY Catalina that spotted Bismarck, she was sunk hours afterwards. Edit: In one of the WoWS Dev vids there is a model of Habakkuk, I'm assuming that is what the Lancasters would be for and would be awesome to play at Tier 10.
-
And it was the RAF who found Bismarck
-
Heard of RAF Coastal Command before? They operated planes like PBY Catolina.
-
Perhaps British battleships can call an off map spotter aircraft or has the Defensive AA Fire.
-
40 I think that's from corner to corner. Edit: Correction, biggest maps are 48x48.
-
Plus the Dual Purpose guns, yeah it definitely higher than the top NC Hull.
-
Supercharging I think was used to extend the range of the guns.
-
And had better AA, with 10 Sextuple (60), 1 Twin (2) and 11 Single 40mm Bofors (for a max of 73), backed up by 8 Twin QF 5.25" Dual-Purpose guns. It's AA rating is likely to be higher than North Carolina's stock hull. Edit: Thinking about it, of Fire Control and type of mount is taken into account, the Vanguard might just beat the North Cal in AA with her fully upgraded Hull: Each 5.25" gun had American Mark 37 DCTs, the Sextuple 40mm guns had separate CRDFs fitted with Type 262 Radar, and the 40mm STAAG mount also had Type 262 Radar. This could give it AA range and accuracy (which translates into the DPS) that is unrivalled at Tier 8.

11" guns which have better belt penetration than the 14" guns at range and is performance wise on par with the 14" guns.
-
USS Tennessee didn't no, but other ships did get them before 1942, and these guns were planned to be used for the North Carolina-class in 3 Quadruple Turrets.
-
15" guns, with the new rounds from World War 2, make the Vanguard-class equivalent in firepower to the Bismarck-class Battleships, those same 15" guns have much better penetration than the 14" guns used on the King George V-class Battleships, so you need to relook at your data as the 14" guns are not as good as you want them to be, as even New Mexico and Tennessee-class Battleships, with modernised armament from 1935 have better penetration performance than the 14" guns on the KGV-class and worse penetration performance than British 15" guns with more modern rounds developed just before and used during World War 2. USS Tennessee is likely to be a Tier 7 Battleship, being an improved New Mexico-class, with USS California of the same class and boasting better AA being a premium. In fact, Tennessee would likely be the first battleships in the US Tech Tree, order wise, to utilise the 5"/38s in Twin turrets, 4 per side. USS Tennessee: 12 × 14 in (356 mm)/50 cal guns (4×3) 16 × 5 in (127 mm)/38 cal Mark 12 guns (8×2) 40 × Bofors 40 mm (1.6 in) anti-aircraft guns 41 × Oerlikon 20 mm (0.8 in) cannons USS California: 12 × 14 in (356 mm)/50 cal guns 16 × 5 in (127 mm)/38 cal Mark 12 guns (8×2) 56 × Bofors 40 mm (1.57 in) anti-aircraft guns (11×4, 5×2) 31 × Oerlikon 20 mm (0.79 in) cannons

Vanguard is likely tier 8
-
Actually the 15" guns used on the QE with modernised shells used in World War 2 had better penetration than the 14" Mk VII.
-
Nor is 731.5. But Bismarck will strike first still with 820.
