But the main armament of the KGV-class as a whole is lackluster and makes it tier 7. In fact even at tier 7 it's limited in what it can do.
-
NC has 128mm which were more effective than the British 133mm gun. And it wouldn't be like Scharn at all, it's slower, heavier armoured and has bigger guns and lacks torpedoes, so playstyle is going to be very different. And with reduced AA it will work at Tier 7 without being overpowered.
-
As VC381 has said, Scharnhorst guns are backed up by a combination of things and not just her guns such as Torpedoes, something KGV lacks.
-
Because I'm thoroughly against overbuffing the guns or or making the guns perform better than they did in real life in comparison to guns of bigger calibre.
-
Worst thing to do.
-
They didn't have better penetration than the guns used on Bismarck and Tirpitz, they had worse penetration that the guns used on the Pennsylvania and Tennessee-class Battleships after modernisation which was still worse than the Bismarck and Tirpitz. It will either be tier 7, or tier 8 with the 14" guns replaced with 15" guns (which is the only way it will be tier 8).
-
15" guns of the French Navy have the penetration vs ships like Montana and Yamato-class Battleships. Also, fictional AA, Secondaries, armour and speed buffs are OK for ships that never existed outside of blueprints. What's not OK is over buffing something that already exists outside of blueprints.
-
Along with fictional armour, AAA and secondary refits would also come with propulsion refits, so likely they would be doing around 26-32 knots.
-
4x4 380 would be the most unique and what I would go for.
-
They would need to be given fictional AA and Armour upgrades but it's doable and I think WG would be wise to use them. And a Super-Lion would likely confuse things.
-
But Britain has 2 with 3x3 18" guns anyway for the Slow and Fast Battleship lines with the K3 and N3.
-
I think the French will likely get eithwe 3x4 16" or 4x4 15"
-
We already have 2 with that configuration and, 1 in the Fast Battleship/Battlecruiser line and the other in the Slow Battleship line. So something more unique would be better, but 4x3 16" guns may work, but my suspicion will be 3x3 16" guns with an RoF of 3 rounds per minute.
-
12 gun Lion design actually exists, it's the 16E-38 design.
-
Sure thing.

The Royal Fleet of House Targaryen is now recruiting! To join, you need a warship of any class at least tier 6 or above, and have Discord for communication. Soon as Clan Wars is available we will be active in this activity assuming we have enough members. There is currently no age limit, though it is preferable to be 18 or over. A sense of humour is also required. We have no restriction on your global location, but you must be able to speak and write in English without aid from Google or Bing Translators.

Should be.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017

Wonder if they'll add the De Grasse as a premium along with the French Cruisers? Might be good as a tier 7 or 8 considering it's armament of 8 Twin 127mm/54 Model 1948 guns backed up by 10 twin 57mm/60 model 1951 guns. -

Depends how many people are working on the BB's, they will have several people working on multiple ships at the same time, so French CA's and BB's are likely. And who wouldn't want to play this vs the North Carolina? -

I disagree, it makes more sense to have the French Cruiser and Battleship released first before other French ships, British BB's being first. -

I think it may also hint towards French Battleships as well. -
Accuracy and dispersion aren't exactly the same thing.

I was referring to British ships without looking at the German. -
I'd rather later than sooner so they can actually get it right and don't [edited]it up. From my point of view, this ship with reduced AA should work at Tier 7. The ship itself though is Tier 7.5 so likely it will also face nerfs in other areas. Also, size difference between 3 of the Lion-class BB's that should be at Tier 8, 9 and 10 with KGV. King George V: Length: 227.1m Beam: 31.5m Draught: 10.2m Displacement: 42,923t Lion 1938-39 Length: 239.3m Beam: 32m Draught: 10.2m Displacement: 47,100t Lion 1942-43 Length: 241.7m Beam: 32.9m Draught: 10.4m Displacement: 49,670t Lion 1944-45 Length: 283.5m Beam: 35.4m Draught: 10.7m Displacement: 66,330t

At the thickest points yes, it's 14.7", which is thicker than on any other battleship of that time, but this was around the Magazine.
