  1. The DoY didn't feel that crappy at all when I unlocked it yesterday or was it already today?

Let iChase illustrate why I quit the game yesterday.

Criticism would not be a problem, flaming people is. Yes a lot of us do call upon the righteous hammer of anger to strike down on the team of random button mashing monkies... however most of us do so in private without an audience or at least with just a very limited audience and rarely with the recipient ever noticing it. If you do so in a stream or social media, it is a wholy different kind of evil and has nothing to do with safe spaces. There is a kind of anger culture forming around certain people that believe, just because they found like minded individuals an no one is sanctioning them, that it is all right to flame just about everyone. On the other hand, Flamu could change his username so that it might become more obvious to some... FlamesU could be appropriate.

    [Therory crafting] After Musashi...?

I think I'm (partially) responsible for the Kitakami not being in game... I remember those battles in alpha with 3 Kitakamis, a bunch of BBs and 120 torps sailing right for them...

    Report???

That's especially funny when they are extremely close (but not yet spotted). They shoot and shoot and shoot and you can easily make out position and even orientation due to the pattern the guns are firing. Best aimbot accusation so far though was: Blindfire at a enemy NC @20km last seen in a turn Seeing all shells go wide and thinking about the wasted salvo Suddenly recieving 4 citadel and 1 kill badge and seeing some very angry accusations in chat

Low Victory rate? Here's a reason

You Only Live Once In this case it means you're getting yourself in a very bad situation because you want to shoot enemy ships and don't really care if you can get out of it again. In WoWs BBs are there to tank damage, but to be meaningful, you have to stay alive long enough for your team (and ideally yourself too) to deal more damage than you take. You can't do that if your ship is burnt to crisp within the first 4 minutes of a battle. As a BB you have the highest hit point pool of any ship class around. You have to tank damage for your team or your team will soon only consist of you, but also your team needs your guns, thus you have to stay alive as well. In order to do the last without ignoring the first, you have to be able to disengage when things get dicy. For example if you see that you are about to enter a narrow channel and six ships are bearing down on you and your team are in no position to do anything to help you, then get the hell out of there. Get distance between you and the oncoming ships, even if it means sacrificing a cap. Because if you don't and engage in a 1 vs 6, you will lose the cap anyways but also you will gift the enemy team the points of your ship while your team loses your guns and your tanking capabilities.

Low Victory rate? Here's a reason

With a 14% survival rate and only 29k average damage in a T6 BB you are not too aggressive, you were passing YOLO with flying colours. You get yourself in situations where you will die without contributing much. The problem with a BB is finding the balance. Getting too close without support means you'll be burned to hell and back by every enemy ship in range, getting too far behind and you will not be a help to your team either because you no longer hit anything. What you need to do is learn to disengage when the odds are extremly against you. In a BB at T6 you should try to keep at around 8-14 km range. While there are many enemys, rather stick around at 14km, try to keep above half health if possible and only disengage when you take too many hits. Later when there are fewer ships alive, be more aggressive and stay up with or in front of your remaining CAs, they need you as shield then more than ever.

Mikasa, give it protected MM WG!

I'd prefer the Brandenburg-class or Deutschland-class battleships. They were true pre-Dreadnought BBs. Schleswig-Holstein of the Deutschland-class even fought in both World Wars and is infamous for firing the first shots of WWII at Westerplatte. She shelled the Polish fort repeatedly until the Poles ran out of supplies and had to surrender. Nevertheless the Polish held Westerplatte for a week while being completely outnumbered (17 : 1) and outgunned (SMS Schleswig-Holstein and several Ju 87 dive bomber attacks).
  8. Well that is a completely subjective point of view. They do use consumables, but at the least useful moment. Since the introduction of Conqueror it became blatently apparent. They instantly repair a fire... only to be set on fire in multiple places 15-30 seconds later.
  9. Eoww... No, there will not be any XP farming done in such rooms. No, there will not be any kind of mission trading done in such rooms. Move along, nothing to see here...

    Public Test 0.6.13 regarding carriers

    0.3% HP / sec and fire. So 30 secs * 0.3% = 9% total HP.

    [Contest] Create a WoWs Guide

I think my initial beginners guide from two years ago is still pinned on top in the newcommers' section... Don't know if it still counts, but I do have an Emden already anyways.

1st nerf of Conqueror and Lion published

I kinda like this new trend of shooting HE shells at everything when you're in a BB. Have never had so many times where sailing broadside to a BB in a CA wasn't punished.

    Water splashes and aiming

This was filmed from Prinz Eugen towards Bismarck during the Battle of Denmark Strait. You can see the splashes from KGV's / Hood's shells rising far above Bismarck's height. Also you can see the fireball and smoke from the main batteries almost completly obscuring the ship for a moment. Granted it won't be as large for a DD shell, but a DD is smaller as well, and a 30 kg shell detonating under water will still produce quite a plume.

Belfast - To keep or to sell ?

I will definitely keep my Belfast, don't mind buffs or nerfs, but is the only ship in game that I've set a foot on IRL so far.
  15. Correct. Post Battle Resulsts Team Overview Screen is what matters.

Why do I get happy memories of our 4 Kitakamis going for 3 Yamatos?
  17. Yamato, average game, 110k damage, 2 kills - 2400 base XP. Anything tier 7 and above with a reasonable good game will most likely get beyond 1600 base XP threshold on a standard ship.

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

It wasn't even OP a little. It was borderline god mode. If you can win a 1 vs 2 reliably there is something very very wrong going on. The initial burst was so strong, that you could take out two players hard and don't even bother with enemy heals or defensive skills. I know it because I played it (having a faible for stealth classes I actually played both stealth classes in SWTOR). Assassin/Sentinel wasn't even close to that kind of OP although it adhered the same stealth mechanics. Going to the other extreme for psychological reasons aka overcompensating because after being confirmed OP every dimwit and his mother still called for more nerfs although once it was brought in line and his death had nothing to do with how OP the class was but how bad he as a player was, was the expected thing to happen.

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

Have you ever thought about WHY it might be considered OP? The Cleveland at T6 has about the same armament as the Belfast one Tier higher. Yet the Cleveland isn't considered OP unless you are a CV, so what exactly does the Belfast have that the Cleveland doesn't? Or another example the Flint. It is basically the same ship as the Atlanta, yet the Flint is suddenly OP conpared to a rather mediocre ship like the Atlanta. What's the difference between the Flint and the Atlanta?

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

Yep. Passive gameplay like sitting in a smoke screen that forces everyone NOT currently having a smoke screen and/or radar available to hide behind islands or stop firing to become unspotted again.

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

Then why do I get the exactly opposite feeling? It just means that you need half a brain to position your ship and use smoke effectively compared to now. Okay that means that a few players will indeed not be capable of using smoke anymore.

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

Well in random battles that might be the actual outcome, but idealy it would make you need teamplay even more. You have to actively scout in front of your smoke to actually help the people inside. Besides, if a radar CA gets detected inside a smoke, he's guaranteed to find something hidden from his view outside the smoke.

Rewards for not torping allies at low tiers

Wasn't driving. The correct nautical term would be sailing... although the ships don't have any sails... ah well, I guess naval types are loving their traditions a wee little bit too much sometimes.

Rewards for not torping allies at low tiers

Don't be so sure... I've had a monumental brain fart on Saturday (maybe in combination with a few beers and whiskey). A friendly DD was trying to spot an enemy DD. When the enemy DD plopped up I fired a full 12 shell salvo at him, was a little bit annoyed that I only hit him for 4k damage at 6 km range. Then it dawned on me, 6 km range? What the, he was spotted at my 10 km detection circle just moments ago. I looked at the DD again and noticed which DD I just fired that salvo at - and nope, I didn't pay any attention to the colours at that moment. Corrected the mistake by blasting away 8k HP of the enemy DD with the next salvo but our DD was (understandably) not very happy. A case of intentional and unintentional friendly fire by a T10 CA that could have very well been the end of him all in one go.

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

As a side note: Considering your overall WR of 52% the figure of 69% does seem excessively high so a nerf might be well warranted. But more to the point, if you are close enough to get spotted at 5-6 km in a smokescreen in a British CL, you are in way too close to the cap anyways. You're even closer than the DD you'd try to support would be in most cases. When you play CA/CL and want to support your DDs, you will keep about 4-6 km distance to your DD anyways, because otherwise you will be spotted and blown out of the water before he can even spot what you want to help him against and what is spotting you. So when you support your DD and lay a smoke screen yourself you are more than far enough behind to still remain hidden in your or by his smoke screen anyways.
