  1. You don't want 2 Hakuryus or even worse 2 Midways per side in a battle. They simply go all strike loadout and flatten every ship they approach in one go. Not even CA defensive fire can do anything about that. Imho the strike setup has to go and the rewards for planes shot down need to be increased. Currently not even a CA with active defensive fire really has a chance of stopping a Midway or a Hakuryu from sinking a target if they really want to, let alone two of them. While Taiho and Essex seem a tad too strong, Midway and Hakuryu are simply OP in terms of sinking ships with their strike setups. Also MM should maybe be tweaked a little... with 12 ships per side the ideal setup would be 1-2 CVs, 2-3 BBs, 5-6 CAs, 2-3 DDs. Currently especially in high tier you often end up with a battle of 6+ BBs or 6+ DDs. That is simply game breaking.
  2. Yeh. In turn that means that the bonus XP was rather hardcoded directly into the formula (with a * operator instead of a + operator).
  3. Weird though. 9060 XP means that you should gain 453 free xp. 453 * 5000 = 2'265'000 xp and not 2'264'750. The later divided by 5000 would be 452.95 xp.
  4. For a standard DB admin I'd say it is about 2 days worth of work. You have to crosscheck and verify that you do not cause more problems with your adhoc statement that you would solve. Now considering that a lot of people take their vacations around the new year and considering that a weekend was that close by that date, my guess is that they wouldn't have the staff available until today to even consider that solution. In an environment like this, you can't have people go wild in your database that don't have a clue what they're actually doing right then and there.
  5. Well WG will likely be the last willing to give out free XP like that. They have a business to run. The people that were affected by this bug (yes, that it was, simply a bug) couldn't even prevent to get the XP in the respective battle. If you want a (rough) technical outline of what WG has to evaluate now if it is worth the hassle to undo it: Identify the people affected by the bug (that is rather easy, but it still needs to be done) Identify what they did with the free experience and what they couldn't do with it (mildly challenging) Undo all that was affected by the free experience and undo it (now that is a rather tricky part) Especially the last point contains not only removing the free XP from their accounts but actually identifying what they did with that experience and undo all that too. That can range from removing researched ships etc. again and reinstating any sold ships/captains to the state before the bug occured WITHOUT actually punishing the people affected by it. That last part is very important because the majority of people affected by it didn't do it on purpose. Besides are you envious because they got something and you didn't? That is the last thing you should worry about.
  6. The problem is to go reverse through the transaction logs of all the changes. That simply takes some work and can't be done ad-hoc.

    I've downed 70 planes yesterday by just playing Atago (trying to get the DDs for Myoko). Besides you can do that in 5-7 battles in a T5 CV.
  8. I did kill a lot of planes with barrage today but still got awarded the medal. Maybe because I targeted one fighter squadron and then barraged over all fighting there with the other?

    Nope. After refit 1936 she was enlengthed by 8m to make more space for additional machinery and to increase bouyancy to carry heavier armour. After the refit she was reclassified as a fast battleship.

    I'm really afraid of Torpizes... You sail happily along in your cruiser and suddenly the torpedo alert goes off mere seconds before you go out in a loud bang. You look around, no DD possibly in range to launch those. You look behind you and there you see the reason. Torpitz decided to launch torps at a BB 20 km away...

    Stay preferably with a DD that is drawing a lot of attention you mustn't be primary target at all because you will get hit badly by BBs. When you use the 155mm guns, you should try to get AFT for your commander asap. You can keep your distance and avoid a lot of incoming fire when you're far enough away. Also camouflage is rather important on the Mogami. With stealth module alone you can get down to 10.6 km spotting distance, with camo captain skill you can get that down to 9.6 km. Also you will need the hull and range upgrades for rudder shift time and additional firing range. Mogami reacts rather sluggish when stock compared to the upgraded version... and the range is obvious. At extreme ranges (17-18km) you're likely better off focusing BBs. CAs can usually turn out of your hail of fire when too far away. If you're not to close in and have the time, try setting fire to multiple enemies to put their damage control on cooldown. Then set them on fire again.

    Just take an anti air CV and you will get that in like 5-8 battles depending on the CV... just waste your squadrons and be done with it... not very helpful for the team but...

    Mh... the RGM 84 Harpoon is a sea skimming sub sonic anti ship cruise missile. It flies directly above the water surface and only does 240 m/s so it neither has the speed nor the flight arc... however it is actively radar guided and has a range of 120 km...

    Is he by any chance sailing away from you? You know your shells travel quite some time to the target and when he is sailing away, your shells have to travel a longer way while his have to travel a shorter way...

    150 m/s = 100 seconds flight time for 15km add to that rearmament time and landing time you're at 2 minutes or more. So even when you are 15 km away from the target - any closer will likely get you spotted by the DDs, you save more than 60 seconds for recovering the planes by simply having the squadron destroyed. So near the front, you will still wait 2 minutes for recovering the planes opposed to 30 seconds cooldown on a fresh squadron.

    As for the penalty for losing squadrons... the time seems still very short. It's still just 30 seconds for the carriers I played so far and usually that is a lot less than having the squadron return and rearm. Maybe the time added should be dependent on the distance the squadron had to the carrier. The further away it gets destroyed the longer the cooldown on the squadron.

    ALL of what you describe is below the waterline and behind the armour belt... and when the rest of the ship gets hit, that doesn't mean that the engines will get damaged. That is kinda the idea behind having multiple layers of armour etc. Btw. if you want to, I can send you all my BB replays of today... you will find some hits for a lot more than 1350 damage in most of them...

    You know, you have to hit the engine first? Usually they place these things waaaay down in the ship, even below the water. If you really optimized steam turbines, you should know that these things are quite heavy and having a low center of gravity is somewhat necessary for a ship. If you want to see that for yourself, maybe visit HMS Belfast in London. You can crawl down even through the engine room... and when you are down there, think about that the Thames is actually above you now... If you manage to hit there, you will deal like 10 times that amount of damage you mentioned? That kind of behaviour usually comes with a relocation to some rather small housings... on the other hand, since the developers are in Russia, you might also end up in a work camp for doing what you suggested... they kinda have a knack for these things over there...
