So i realy enjoy playing the Japanese Destroyers but in domination modes i just don't know what to do. I know desi's are supposed to rush the caps and try to apply some pressure or even get an early cap for the team. But it seems like every time i do this i end up facing an equal tier US or Russian Desi and they just outclass me completely in a DD vs DD fight and i either get away barely alive without my damage repair party consumable or i just die. Any advice from experienced DD players?

So i don't know if im doing something wrong but i feel as though playing a japanese destroyer is like playing the lottery. Jap desi's are all about the torps and the guns are pretty lackluster. But their torps are long range and fairly slow so it requires the enemy to sail in a straight line for 30-60+ plus seconds and although this is fine at lower tiers as players have less experience, at higher tiers it's completely unreliable. I've had games where i've landed 10+ torpedoes and done great. And then i've had games when i've hit with 1, 2 or even 0 torpedoes because the enemy are not stupid and they vary speed or maneuver even when they can't see me. What am i doing wrong? I'm firing from outside detection range then making sure i sail away to avoid being spotted and yet a lot of the time they still dodge them.
