Trying to rationalize: Played well but still lost 11 out of 13 games...

I just realized I have a good way to test these results: I'll start firing without the target being locked, I will unlock it if it gets automatically selected. This way the game engine won't know who I am aiming at and shouldn't interfere, let's see if I get same statistical results. This way I'll probably also avoid the 4% bonus the target gets from their camouflage.

Admiral Noodle, your points are valid, and I am too lazy to start a full-scale debate, so I'll just answer briefly: - indeed, 60 games are not relevant, I will continue observing , yet results have been pretty much liniar and it doesn't. Win % is altered by being paired with LSP, while hit % is being altered by smaller hitboxes As I said, I only check their stats at the end of the round so I don't get biased by such values. About 5% of the shots which I consider "suspect" (on my own and very personal scale) prove to actually be against players with high stats, some are for med stats while 65% are for low stats. HSPs move better and in my subjective criteria of selection they should appear more just because of their movement skills, yet they don't. I totally agree As about profitability of such tweaks for game owners , that'd be a full new debate so I'll just pass. If you are willing to see more numbers and far better documented, please read the article which I linked and its two follow-ups. I guess we can agree upon one thing: if it's profitable for WoT it also applies to WoWs

If you don't want to be convinced, why should I try? If you want to verify, you try what I said. I did, results for almost 60 battles now are so obviously distributed towards LSP=small hitbox that I personally have no doubts, but I accept it as it is.

What world are you guys living on? Surely not this one. Ohh, this will be long .... Wargaming Public Co. ltd is a company which designs free games for money. There is a contradiction there, your first impression is that they won't earn too much, but in reality they make more than companies which charge fixed fees for their games. In games with fixed price, developers have no interest in touching the sandbox and you get what you payed for. You're good? You kick [edited]. You suck? Well, you'll probably quit pretty soon, nobody likes having his [edited]handed to him all day long, isn't it? But with Wargaming things are different. They need players to willingly spend cash for this game, and premium is just one aspect of this. High tiers are a pain to grind without premium , and that's for a reason. It's even harder for ... Stop. Let's make a convention: since Wargaming won't allow me to call one group of players by their name, I will call them from now on: Less Skilled Players, or LSPs. I'd choose to call them differently, but I'd get censored. So, back to our LSPs, the game is even harder to grind for them, but they make the majority of paying customers. Leo Apollo, you are above average, you don't desperately need premium, but a LSP simply goes out of money quick. Now, in order to motivate such a player to keep paying, you need to keep him happy. How do we do this? Even with money he still aims like my grandma, so he'll soon get tired of getting raped each game and he'll go cheat CS:GO. Now the statistical part comes in. If you want an older (still Wargaming) article, find it here for your reference: http://greedygoblin.blogspot.ro/2013/05/world-of-tanks-cheat-introduction-and.html Wargaming needs to balance teams , so they calculate your recent rating (not the overall) and if you're on a wave they decide to give you a few LSPs in your team, maybe you'll pull them up a bit and they'll make their share of wins so they stay interested in the game. I would dare you to test it statistically, but not yet, we haven't added some more important tweaks yet. Now, even with team balancing LSPs will still lose badly and will think about leaving the game, but milk cows shouldn't be allowed to walk easily, so here comes the fun part: HITBOX. A hitbox, for whoever doesn't know what that is, is the actual area on which a hit is considered valid. It is by no means equal with the contour of the enemy ship as you see it, no way. Hitboxes get adjusted depending on recent player stats. You're a LSP? Ok, here, take this 25% reduced hitbox, you'll be smaller and more difficult to hit. By now you called this ******* already. Here's a little exercise: try and figure out how camouflage works. You're too lazy, right What does it say? 4% less likely to be hit? How comes that? If I fired at you and I aimed well, I should hit you, where do that 4% come into play? There you go ... your hitbox is 4% smaller if you use that camouflage. Same goes for gun spread, identical maths: you're too good for wargaming to allow your projectiles to go where you pointed them to. And now comes the statistical part, for whoever made it to this point and didn't go directly to insult me. Go install a playerstats mod, have pen and paper ready and go out shooting. Each time you think you should have hit a ship but somehow your projectile took a trip into the twilight zone, take a note about the name of your opponent. At the end of the game compare your list of names with the stats of that players. Try to be objective and don't look at their stats till the end, it would bias you. You'll see that the lower your opponent stat is, the more projectiles took the twilight zone's path. After 50 matches you'll know what I meant. At that point you may also want to **** this and seek a game where you ain't cheated by the devs themselves. Don't be in such a rush, most of them do, LSPs are 90% of the player base in any game, so each game needs them as cash cows. I, for one, chose to accept being cheated , but not on my money. For free ... it's reasonably fair.

The answer is NO, they will not fix it because it ain't broken, it's working as designed. And by design, if you don't want to spend weeks grinding money in tier VI you'll have to buy premium. Wargaming will do anything for that sweet cash.

Tirpitz BB vs BB capabilities in comparison

I wonder if any of you girls writing here have taken your meds today. It is not about penetration or armor, it's just about M O N E Y. Let me write it for you: if ( $firing_ship in @gold_ships ) then $target_ship_hitbox=$target_ship_hitbox * 2 if ( $rating.commander.target_ship > $average ) then enable_citadel_hit fi fi Wargaming just found their cows to milk and they surely won't let it go easily. Translation for who still didn't get it: Buy a Tirpitz, fire at will, don't bother with aiming too much, Wargaming will do the rest. Welcome to citadel festival, dear buyer.
