    CV matchmaking is really bad

So make sure they don't stay out of range? 1. You have an engine. Move towards them. And don't be too far in the first place, they will fall for it sooner if you are semi-front line. Which allows you more sorties anyway. 2. Provide a carrot. Send a squadron up. Use fighters to keep them in place while you move your ship in range to support. If you're out of fighters, send a bomber squadron you can miss (I would go with DB, but TB are stronger lure) and have them fly the enemy back to your ship, they will follow and they will take some rear gunner damage. Subsequently land your aircraft before you lose more than one or two bomber(s): their air is now directly over your ship for half a minute. Enough to shoot down 1-5, depending on damage rolls. Repeat. 3. When they chase your bombers, do NOT have all your bombers return along the same path! If they do, their fighters can just hop to the next squadron once they are done with the first! I'd they intercept, order your squadron to sacrifice itself by leading them in a completely different direction. Preferably one that has friendly ships nearby. Any aircraft they lose in the process is bonus, main goal is to minimise losses. 4. Bringing two CV close to one another creates a very strong AA zone. Encourage the other CV to get near you near the frontline. Even if spotted, chances are the enemy ships don't have line of sight or range to hurt you. So just prioritise AA on torp bombers and you should be fine. 5. If they camp you and don't go for one type of bait, use a bomber squadron to lure them away and let one escape (as IJN). Even if you lose all, you should have done a lot of damage, enough for the match win. If you lose all, just play for base caps and AA protection for allies (helps to not be so far in the back that nobody is in a position to help too ;) ). Don't tell me it can't be done. I grinded the Hosho and Zuiho this week and often downed more aircraf than I lost, even facing two US carriers with two IJN carriers. It is a matter of playing on their greed and vulnerabilities. Both have well over 60% winrates for a good reason. And I feel I'm even playing them while too distracted! I'm quite sure I could do better still as I'm a bit out of practice since CBT (did the US line then).

Wrong. Hosho has good own AA, engage their fighters right over the Hosho. Extend AA range if possible. I frequently lured them in by having my bombers take off and immediately order them to land. That does mean you have to dare to be a near frontline CV. Find a nice big island close to the fight. Most the time poor CV players pick the islands way in the back.

One Bogue with bomber + 2 fighter setup. One Langley or Hosho for the additional fighter. Not that hard to overcome. Make sure you work together with your other CV, if it's an IJN CV, try to use its AA if there's no good cruisers (tier 4-6) or BBs (tier 5+ preferably) to engage the enemy over. Always try to get them to fight on YOUR turf, i.e. near your friendlies or right over you. Don't worry too much about enemy air strikes on your CV if they have a lot of fighters, focus on getting those fighters caught over friendly AA regions. Preferably somewhere with multiple friendly ships and even better is one with a cruiser fighter aircraft and/or AA special. While those are busy killing their fighters for you (and you get a couple too), focus on torping their worst AA ships that put out a lot of damage, aren't too maneouvrable and without too much hp. For instance, St. Louis and South Carolina's.

    What am I doing wrong?

Let's see, it's hard to tell what exactly you're doing wrong without knowing more about your playstyle. However, if I'm reading your stats right: Your damage rate is low. Your battles survived is high. Hitratio is low considering you've mostly NOT played BBs (!). I mean, I got double the percentage of BB battles and my accuracy is pretty much the same as yours that's highly cruiser / DD dependent. Allow me to make an educated guess and give some general tips. I'm under the impression you're staying too far from the fight, making your accuracy go down, as well as your DPS. If you have both poor accuracy and little understanding of when to use AP and HE (nor where to fire for damage), these two factors each other. On a sidenote, getting in closer doesn't mean getting in range of a lot of enemies at once btw. Control the amount of enemies that get within range to one or two. Three at max, at which point you should be retreating anyway. Leading is very important btw. Especially if you use AP: you don't just have to hit, you have to hit in the right spot (preferably middle, under turrets or smokestacks and close to or even below the waterline to score citadel hits). I see a lot of players aim too high at the super structure above water, while they should be firing at the base of the ship with AP. Fire HE at the top of the ship though. Another thing is you may be positioning yourself wrong and don't maintain your logistics properly by planning your route and moving timely. Possibly you take yourself too far from objectives (plan ahead) which relates directly to winratio and draw ratio especially (zone control is everything, so if you're staying too far back, you'll need to cover more terrain to undo the points and possibly missing out on the fight). It could also be you are so far away from "the next fight", which means you simply don't see enemies for long periods of time. Not seeing enemies means not firing at enemies, thus lowering your damage per second. Consider if you're finishing a fight on the move to the next fight, or finishing a fight on the spot, then move on. That can save you minutes that might just save you the win by base capture. Don't worry about leaving an enemy behind, they always follow you to finish the fight anyway, but it means you're in control of where it takes place too. Make use of that sort of thing to control angles, first salvo, ranges, etc. Hope some of that helps. Either way, kudos to self-reflecting that you may have something to do with your results, I always respect that.

    Why do i lose?

Yeah, but you're in the top 10-15% I'd say. Chances of people being prone to 60-90% losses while doing everything right are extremely slim. The guy is doing something wrong, my bet is he's not taking his ship to the right spots to be somewhere he needs to be some time later. If you catch my drift. Logistics.

Positioning? ALL your BBs except Kongo did poorly. I'm wondering why. EDIT: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/27423-map-new-dawn-battleship-tactics-south/page__p__478148#entry478148 Try reading this?

How do you dodge 2 pron torp drop + DB? I cant!

Those wern't dropped on land though, there's no torps starting on the beach itself. As you can see it's just in front of the beach.

Depends, if you get Plugged Ears as a captain skill, it might balance out.

That's the kind of footage you could look up on youtube as well though, but it's hard to find (and honestly I find the dodging skills of most players sub-par, because they really start dodging at 3-4km, when they could have been dodging at 6-7km to increase the path length of the bomber). Either way Jeboti, I think it helps if you play a bit more CV matches. You'll see the dodging patterns a lot better then and probably appreciate the effort of the timing and positioning required more. So far you've got no CV with cross hatching ability right? It looks easier from the receiving end than the multitasking actually is.
  12. You may need to switch to that CV class. Might help your game experience...
  13. Then again, the ships can get that close to the beach as well.

One thing I'm wondering about though is in general that the controls for focusing secondaries aren't explained well anywhere in the game and people should find out themselves. Are people truly aware how to focus their secondary fire? I personally think the instructions should be part of the UI.

So... have you ever considered luring the enemy fighters over your CV? I land my aircraft regularly on the IJN ships after getting them within my upgraded AA range. Even if I have just a total of 8 interceptors, I down up to 14 aircraft generally, over half of which interceptors and lose about the same amount, total.

Well, what I suggested is what makes it possible. It's all in making it as hard as possible to line up those two squadrons and keeping them in AAA fire as long as possible, while reducing the angle at which you have to dodge on one of the squadrons. The DBs are most easily avoided by making them come in at ANY angle other than direct front or rear btw. Which is not impossible to do with a hard turn, but then that depends on the timing, since the torps dodging have priority (when in panic, those will fire at wide angles, so the only concern is the aircraft in front). Of course, once they dropped torps, you switch to the DBs asap (they tend to come in later), increasing their oval size to almost triple on a Cleveland. You may not come out of it completely unscathed, as there's some chance and skill involved on behalf of the CV user, but as a Cleveland you should come out of it with a lot of aircraft shot down (minimum 5-8) and at most one or two torp hits, which depends on the skill of the CV user and how well your AA defense was. Of course, if you're sailing in convoy, your combined AA capacity could result in the complete destruction of the enemy air fleet.

    WARNING, dont be fooled

Read a story about an American guy who complained at his car dealer that the iPhone docking station in his (old) Ford made scratches on his iPhone and that it didn't charge it. The guy had no idea it was a tape recorder.

Not much more you can do then. But of the three-four squadrons hitting you, if you focused AAA fire starting at 6km on one of the torp squadrons, they should have lost 4-5 aircraft if you make it circle you for any amount of time to get an angle. :/

Gojira's are slightly OP too. Against DDs.

When did you use the repair button btw? After the DBs hit, or directly after the torps hit?

Try to keep one of them straight ahead of you and focus your AA on the other one, this way you only get torps from one side and they'll be reduced in numbers, while you can sail in between the ones coming straight on to you. And don't forget to activate your AA special on a Cleveland.
