All these winning rule changes are simply there for changing the statistics of the majority of bad players to create surrogate wins for those people who felt they should have gotten them when they didn't deserve them due to making bad choices. It simply cuts away bad choices from hampering player's chances to win and thereby punishes good players on the losing teams and bad players on the winning teams. It's purely there to help bad players.

Works well on higher tiers too since the caliber of guns doesn't really change, just the range, amount of hitpoints, angle and number of guns tends to change (bit of a stretch, but you get the idea).
-
So basically they've chosen to reward dumb players by cutting on their draws and making them think they're good, rather than expect them to grow a brain and prevent a draw from occuring (or allow good players to stall and bait enemies to get a draw).
-
Pretty much. If you've got to limit the class without it being a support type class of which you can't have too many on the team without not having a regular front line on all ends (artillery, CV), but simply because there's too many of them in comparison to other classes, then you're admitting you've made it too attractive to play that class over other classes. Players shouldn't be punished for playing any class with a long queue and even then people may choose not to play those classes at those tiers.
-
ON average everyone gets those people, but you can easily carry in Ranked Battles since you're guaranteed to be top tier or at most at -1 tier, have few enemies, so if you're having a good game and kill two-three or four enemies, you alone killed half the enemy team. If your team isn't completely hopeless, this should allow your team to win with ease.

I know, right? Quite silly, though I've pissed off quite a few people by pointing out they're far less stellar than they like to think they are when they try to brag about being good, while the ship "is just bad". Usualy followed with the stereotypical bad player overdefensive attitude type of argumentation about elitism, play-for-fun, etc. Well Winnie did answer why he plays. But I don't think he quite understood the point that there are loads of reasons for people to play, most of which involve good results as a measure of fun.

A very good reason not to use your repair ability too soon if you expect new fires shortly after.

Hahaha Opening Post went from +10 to -3. Looks like someone is making extra accounts just to negrep. xD
-
Quite, the realism argument went out the window the moment they used hitpoints. War Thunder tries to apply "realism" to a much greater extend, but then find the game becomes hardly playable because a game simply has balancing demands that real life doesn't.
-
Either way, this poll is uselessly biased, since the option buffing smoke etc. are removed.
-
My smoke defies physics with spot checks on where the center of the ship is in game. Kinda like how you can't see a BB if you only physically see its rear end.
-
xP Well there's always the hope they'd do that, but... Well, you know. It's more likely you'll end up with like minded people making fun of their obvious silly argumentation.

Divisions would obsolete the point of ranked battles. What you should be asking for is adding a mode for Ranked Team Battles. Problem of course is that you're splitting up a playerbase more and more.
-
Indeed. It shouldn't become visible at all you mean... ;) Seriously, stop with the whining about a stealth class using stealth. :| All you have to do is make distance to the cloud if you're scared of what's inside of it...

It's actually more effective than you'd expect, but with the amount of shells you can fire and the accuracy with some USN DDs in particular, you can get loads of citadel hits on the same target in rapid progression, much faster than if you'd try the HE tactic.
-
See the side of a cruiser: use AP (EVEN AS A DESTROYER!!!!!!!!) See the front or rear of a cruiser or an angle that mostly shows this: use HE, with one possible exception, unless your shots fall directly from above anyway. But then that's more luck based still.
-
@esa: bad is always relative to good, isn't it?
-
It's competitive because you compete every single match to win, to beat other players (or bots in some people's cases). The amount of influence you can have on each battle as an individual player is pretty huge. I'm not sure how someone could presume otherwise, unless performing mediocre or worse, reflecting personal experience rather than what is actually possible for a player. Personally thought in early CBT it was harder to carry a match than in WoT, but turns out it is actually easier.

Luck is a very minor part of it. Positioning and course plotting and controlling the amount of fire that is coming to you is everything.

The cap thing was an issue, but it could have been resolved in many other ways. Part of the sub-solution already solved the main culprit: being able to cap from smoke with enemies in the circle with you. That first issue they fixed with the small capture rule change. Having your entire fleet in never ending fog could have been resolved as well in several ways. Now, that a minute of deploying dense fog was too much when you also have a more or less 2:25 minute reset timer? Laying a smokescreen for just 20 seconds is far too short: you typically (sometimes it's enough, near islands to cover the rest of your trip) can't lay a nice screen and double back to actually use it properly, because of your turning circle and speed, while you only have a minute, maybe a minute and a half to make use of it (depends on tier I think). Simply having a 3:00-3:30 minute reset timer to go with a screen that lasts 1:30 and takes a small minute to setup would have easily solved this already, as you couldn't keep it up on your own. Sure, if you have two-three destroyers putting down the same fog screen right on time, why not? At that point IMO it's situational and "fair play". In principal you could have that situation in a team that wishes to play that way in the end and has fog screens left. You could also simply reduce the amount of fog screens to 2 + 1 for the skill, forcing a choice. At this point though it's basically "you're not allowed any advantages because the bad BB players being forced to play on your terms instead of you on theirs as is the case now, will whine". And even then, there's been more nerfs to fog. For instance the concept of sonar abilities to see into fog was something that they added rather late (at start of OBT iirc?). This ability would have been interesting as an alternative, but only when it's frequently useful. Especially as a higher tier alternative to the anti-air improvement: only if there was an actual fog threat would it be used, everyone defaults to AA skill now because fog is a non-issue to the point you can't even cover a hit-and-run approach because you run out of fog before you've covered a few miles. It's more like a puff of smoke than a smokescreen now. They well overshot their target with all the nerfs and that primarily created a situation where DDs have only a narrow situational dominance, but on certain maps and at long viewing distances and large amount of air squadrons active have a relatively horrible vantage point. And the only way to change that is increase the stealth of the DD, whether that's a fixed value (allowing DDs to get closer undetected once more, I'd really say getting surface spotted at 7km and air spotted over 3.6km without firing should be the max, opposed to the current 7.9km and 4.2km which is just silly given what damage the enemy can take and how experienced those enemy players should be at that time). That doesn't mean that a skilled player can't overcome the deficits and be succesful, obviously. But it's quite clear to me that at the highest tiers survivability is currently directly related to the amount of damage one can soak per enemy attack wave, while DDs quite typically lack the capacity to come close enough for effective proximity torping. I've even seen a lot of matches containing so many BBs, that not even half the BBs died in the match; simply because there were too many hitpoints distributed over all the ships to bring down with teams that don't dare close in on one another and that don't coordinate enough to focus fire (in part due to the size of the map, in part due to the cowardice-distance everyone maintains). There's a good reason why we deliberately brought Minekazes into tier X matches during CBT. Stealth > more torps with more damage.
-
Not sure what the negrepping is all about, the BB whining during CBT and OBT lead to the fog nerf, which was the only thing they had going at the time at higher tiers and made even USN DDs useable at all tiers. :|

Honestly you mean nothing to me, but I've been courteous enough to spend some of my time trying to help you. Despite everything. Your ego won't let me though. Says enough about YOU, and more about me, who tries to help despite your constant insults. What was it about not having a life again you said to me? Maybe you should try taking yourself less serious and accept you're just some random player with meh stats and meh social skills (worse than mine!).
-
I don't think anyone considers you to be honest, nor does anyone consider you factual.
-
No, I've got a realistic perception of myself. Unlike you. I could also quote the stats of a few hundred other people if that makes you feel better. But the fact of the matter is you attacked me on my knowledge by claiming you know better. EDIT: Look. You keep speaking about things you don't know much about as if it's evil reincarnate to correct you when you're wrong. You think it's "inflated" ego when I'm talking about MY stats, yet you for some reason think it's absolutely fine for you, who deals next to no damage per match and has horrid results (UNLIKE I DO), that you DO NOT have an incredibly inflated ego? SOME HUMILITY WOULD DO YOU GOOD. I've been incredibly restrained under the stream of ad hominem's you've thrown at me for telling you the truth you don't want to hear. What do you want me to say? That you're awesome? That you're absolutely right and BBs are the problem when I get 65-76% winrates with them and 2 to 4x the amount of damage you deal in them? I'm sorry you're not good and that your ego is incapable of handling this fact and that your brain keeps trying to excuse you at the cost of insulting me and others and dismissing the advice me and others are giving you, DESPITE of your attitude. I'm sorry you're behaving so pathetic.
-
In Co-op there are no humans on the other end... Had a 98% winrate in CBT btw. One draw.
