Because I don't recognise the "shunning." Sure there was a revolution and that 1812 business, but since then the UK and US have broadly got along quite well. I counted 18 countries in Africa that have remained in the Commonwelath.

Well the high tier Brit tanks are pretty weak and there are some (not me) who think WG have a grudge against the Brits. I think is more neglect (not caring) that does it. It certainly fuels a lot of RN fans expecting the worst. We have some of the most capable and fun tanks further down the tree... they're both Cromwells.

If you think sailing all around the planet , discovering much of it and mapping it and accurately studying the flora and fauna in great detail and so on is a merely military achievement and not a cultural, scientific and technical triumph then I'm sorry for you. Royal Navy captains like James Cook and were some of the best educated and most capable men alive at the time,as were the passengers they carried. Ever hear of Charles Darwin?
