The metal has particular value because it has never been exposed to radiation that has existed in our atmosphere since 1945. That was when we as a species started setting off matter annihilation weapons in the atmosphere. The WWI German ships in Scapa Flow have been salvaged for the same reasons, although there is no war grave violation so people are relaxed (I don't think anyone had tried to salvage form The Royal Oak for example). You come up against a RN ship in a German cruiser and get within torpedo and secondary range and you expect to win? Think again. My experience of Leander and Fiji has been that are deadly to other cruisers. I can sink you and you might not land a shot through my smoke. If you do I'll heal a lot of that damage.

It is a lot less toxic. My sincere advice is play the DDs. They are really fun but you need to understand the spotting mechanics.

I'm not a high skill player myself but I can make these work... But even if it were the case that these ships were only any good in the hands of a competent player... would that actually be a bad thing? I don't think so.

The Pan Asian "nationality" just underlines the stupidity of the decision to have this HMAS Perth not be a ship that can take RN Commanders. The captain of the Taiwanese Yo Lang can command the People's Repuplic of China's Anshan and those to nations are not even remotely friendly. This was just a bad decision and the only way to handle this as a player who thinks it matters is not to buy the Perth.

You do realise it has weaker AP than the Royal Navy line.... right? And much as I adore my OP RN CL line I'll not be buying Perth because they have stupidly made it a different nation than the UK. So no cross training of commanders. How not to sell me a premium ship I'd have bought the moment I saw her available.

Is it possible to re-train Captain so he is specialized for "Premium" ship only?

Not silly enough to expend any gold or playing time to change that. What you should do is play him in your premium ship with the goal one day of putting him into a high tier regular ship having been very well trained. Take the commander who came with my Warspite. I've played a load of battles with him anticipating that one day he'd have regular ships to command and sure enough he is now trained for HMS Fiji. I paid gold for that retraining without hesitation, because he is a very valuable commander of 15 points. Best of all is that I could have him play in Warspite still. I would but I'm trying to bring on another guy. -
Thing is... there's no consensus on the RN CL Tree. Thanks as the last post would have been nice though, as you say.
