Up to Edinburgh so far and I've never registered the main battery causing a fire. Secondaries yes. I do run one of the 1% extra fire flags for the secondary battery.

Comparing IJN DDs to USN DDs - No point in talking about which would win if they fight each other. USN want to fight where IJN will evade because they're not meant to shoot guns much. However, the other question is: which is the most effective at handling the capital ships.? Until now the IJN DDs have been the best at that by a long way. They do the real damage. Those days appear to be coming to an end.

As someone who has invested a lot of gaming time into the IJN DD line I am well annoyed.

Big issue with the Anshan is that your visibility increases massively on firing where it doesn't with Gremyashchiy. That means they're not very similar in practice even if they are on paper.

No ship which could be earned by playing can be labelled Pay To Win. I have no positive expectations about what WG will do to my ships. I've played WoT since 2011 - 41k battles. The things they've pulled would melt your tiny mind.

I have all three. The Minekaze is set to be significantly changed. It may be that the premiums become the far better option. Did you buy Fujin when she went on sale around Halloween?

Mayhap not playing selfishly and allowing your team mates room to deploy their weapons is a thing to do.

What I'm concerned about is the commanders. I have a Reasonably good Fubuki Commander in my Fubuki. My best IJN commander is in the Kagero. What will happen to these? Does Fubuki guy go down to Tier VI with the Fubuki? Does that mean I have a skillfree commander in the replacement at Tier VIII? My bes Commander is in my Kagero. That will move to Tier VIII. Will he move or will he stay at tier IX? O will the commanders stay at their Tier meaning I'll have a Fubuki at Tier Vi with no skills?

BBs are not easy to play well. Low tier DDs are the smart way to learn the spotting.

My advice is to play Japanese destroyers to get a feel up to Tier V. Read all you can about concealment and weapons in the wiki and watch YouTube videos.
