I don't get the "There are too many BBs and too many DDs" coming from the same player. Why not just accept cruisers are hard to play?

The main issue is the same as with Belfast: The AP is weak after the main RN Tech Tree equivalents. The HE does present other opportunities though. I still think it is just plain stupid that this is a separate nation from the UK.

Suggest playing ships other than CV.

I just read about the action between HMS Glowworm and the Admiral Hipper on Wikipedia. Struck me how familiar this is to us as WoWS players Hipper initially had difficulty in distinguishing Glowworm from von Arnim, but opened fire eight minutes later at a range of 8,400 metres (9,200 yd) with her 20.3-centimetre (8.0 in) main guns. Glowworm was hit by Hipper's fourth salvo and she started making smoke. She turned into her own smoke in an attempt to break visual contact with Hipper, but the cruiser's radar-directed guns were not affected by the smoke. When the destroyer emerged from her smoke the range was now short enough that the cruiser's 10.5-centimetre (4.1 in) guns could fire. Glowworm's radio room, bridge, and forward 4.7-inch gun were all destroyed, and she received additional hits in the engine room, the captain's day cabin, and finally the mast. As this crashed down, it caused a short circuit of the wiring, causing the ship's siren to start a banshee wail. Lieutenant Commander Gerard Broadmead Roope, awarded a posthumous Victoria Cross At 10:10 Lieutenant Commander Gerard Broadmead Roope, fired five torpedoes from one mounting at a range of 800 metres (870 yd), but all missed because Captain Hellmuth Heye had kept Hipper's bow pointed at Glowworm throughout the battle to minimize his risk from torpedoes. The destroyer fell back through her smoke screen to buy time to get her second torpedo mount working, but Heye followed Glowworm through the smoke to finish her off before she could fire the rest of her torpedoes. The two ships were very close when Hipper emerged from the smoke and Roope ordered a hard turn to starboard to reduce the range and possibly ram the cruiser. Hipper was slow to answer her helm and Glowworm struck the cruiser just abaft the anchor. The collision broke off Glowworm's bow and the rest of the ship scraped along Hipper's side, gouging open several holes in the latter's hull and destroying her forward starboard torpedo mounting. One German sailor was knocked overboard by the collision. Hipper took on some 500 tonnes (490 long tons) of water before the leaks could be isolated, but was not seriously damaged. Glowworm was on fire when she drifted clear and her boilers exploded at 10:24, taking 109 of her crew with her.[8] -

Citadel to Tirpitz with T6 cruiser Leander

Don't forget the 6 inch Ap on a RN cruiser is more powerful than other nations have. Still a very good result. -
I'm no great BB player but my WR in Warspite is stellar. Main battery accuracy is the best I've experienced in a BB. Secondaries are good. They are accurate and the range can be made over 7km. She's tough to hurt if she angles. She is agile for a BB, turns quite well. As I recall she has additional repair ability over other BBs and the repair party cooldown is shorter than for most BBs. These factors make a lot of difference in a drawn out battle. I have Arizona and find it lacking. Partly because of not having a commander as good as my Royal Navy guy. Guns don't seem as good as Warspite's. I've never been struck by the secondaries being up to much.

I'm all out of "likes" guys. Consider these all liked.

I hope he lived a happy life. Living to 97 means his death is no tragedy, yet the world is losing that truly great generation.

south dakota-class Battleship alabama is coming
Hedgehog1963 replied to Reisen__'s topic in General Discussion
In what way is London not an "actual port?" That being said Gibraltar would indeed be superb... ESPecially if it annoys certain Iberians. -
Knock out 2 per game and play 100 games.

Loving the London port. Will be the port of choice to have any ship parked right where HMS Belfast sits today. -
Best results I get with secondaries seem to be when I'm out in Warspite. I want to ask OP - do you have the secondaries focus skill on your 15 point commander and do you use ctrl+click on the enemy ship you want to target? My understanding is that your secondaries will be worse if you have that skill and fail to highlight the target.

Is it so hard to create proper matchmaking for people with good WR?
Hedgehog1963 replied to FaceFisted's topic in Archive
It is a constant background whining on the WoT forums now making its way here. "Good players" not having their sense of entitlement to win fulfilled seek to blame their team mates. Never mind the concept of the team game. Never mind that over time they'll fight against teams with the same weaker players. In this case OP's sense of entitlement to have everyone on the forum agree with him has also not been fulfilled and he's flounced off. Oh well... -
4x CV's in one and the same battle? Is that becoming the new "normal"?

I'm offering a service. For 50 dubloons you can division up with me when I'm in a ship equipped witht he AA boost/cooldown. I never see enemy CVs if I do that. -
Yeah this and then trying to play Edinburgh without having to check which consumable is which is so frustrating.

I'm wondering whether the issue goes back to the decision made in the days of yore to use WASD as direction in these games. I've always - always- used the four arrow keys between the alphabet and number pad for steering because those are the controls I used to play the original DOOM back in '94; the middle two arrow keys are directly over each other - I can't get past the W key being more over the the S than the A; they have arrows on them FFS; you're less likely to smoosh a key you didn't want to hit; and laptop people should get a proper keyboard What I'd like is for WG to create a full set of customisable key bindings for specific consumables.

I just realised I should clarify that I expect to retain Kagero camo since I'd bought the Fubuki camo before the "great second IJN DD nerf to near oblivion of 2016."
-
Do you notice a change in playing style with the new IJN DDs?
