Destroyers - and even smaller vessels - were the workhorses of the Royal Navy. I definitely want them before the battleships.

So.. taken the day off tomorrow. Staying up late to play tanks. 0:30 BST WoT servers crash so came to WoWS and... same thing. Servers down.

Specifically IFHE. It is really deadly. I have a 19 point Commander in Belfast set up as Flamu suggests and I get great results. Of course one good thing WG did was allow me to send the excess commander XP to any other commander. Makes more sense to play my Belfast with a 19 pointer in it that play the scrub I'm trying to develop.

I generally fly the Jutland Flag on all ships except Soviet DDs where I use the Guards Banner. Jutland Flag is basically a RN Flag.

It gets worse... The Yanks' pint is only 16floz instead of 20 and so their gallon is also smaller than ours.

The reason for WG not unifying the gold and dubloons is entirely due to it making no financial sense to do so. People sat on piles of one or the other have to buy the other kind to buy premium vehicles in the other game.

Unlike the tanks (I have every tank it has been possible to buy since Beta) I've stopped buying the premium ships due to the direction they've taken with this game.Last premium I bought was that new Tier V Russian DD some weeks ago. Attacks on DD gameplay seem never ending... RPF, the inability to shoot outside detection range, the messing with the Jap torpedoes and RPF among others. It's not fair on us who have paid in time and money to develop our DD lines. I even stopped playing again for over a fortnight I'm so unhappy with things. If I hadn't been banned from WoT due to losing my temper with TKers and shooting back (idiot me ) I'd not have played today either. Looks like they've made a balls-up of HMS Hood so "no sale." I know I'll never play a French or Itlalian ship, so the premiums there are immaterial.

The only anti British thing WG really have going on is withholding the Chieftain for so long in WoT, oh and keeping us waiting for so long for proper Royal Navy content in WoWS. British ships are good in WoWS. The only issue with Warspite is the bad MM it now gets.

I wouldn't go out in any cruisers other than those of the the Royal Navy. OP is clearly not exhibiting any understanding as to how excellent they are.

I'm sorry, I've obviously read the books you couldn't colour in Yeah the Matilda. Well armoured but dead slow and under armed. You have to remember that most gaming makes out all tank combat was tank to tank. It wasn't. The value of a tank force is punching a gap through the enemy lines then rolling on through into the back field and causing chaos. Matilda couldn't do that, wasn't designed to do that. 16 Mph is just terrible. All Jerry had to do to stop Matildas was move an 88 Flak battery in the way and engage at ranges longer than the Matildas could reply. What are you going to do to an 88 battery with a Matilda's 2Pdr gun that doesn't even have a High Explosive round? Churchills also hopeless. Even slower than the Matilda II. They were too slow for contemporary tank warfare. We sent Churchill IV armed with the 6pdr into Normandy and it got ugly. They were the basis for the Funnies, which is the one in war tank format the Brits did come out best at. Bobbin, Crab, AVRE, Crocodile... And don't forget these are presented as the best... all those other wrecks on wheels we sent men into battle in were absolute death traps. Sherman was just an American tank that the British up-gunned. Having to use Shermans in the first place tells you all you need to know about the British tank programme. British prowess on the battlefield relied on artillery and air support.

Hmmm. Not a great way to start given how bad British tanks were...
