As someone who took a decision some time ago not to grind everything I don't recognise the issue as being a problem. There are two "nations" I have never played a single battle with and never will for example. Looks like there's a third on the way. I've never played a Jap carrier and never gone past the Bogue with the Yanks. I'm not actively grinding any cruiser line which doesn't have smoke. Even if I liked the idea of playing the French and Italian lines |(and the upcoming South Americans) I'd not have time to grind them out because WoWS is my second game after WoT I don't have everything in WoT up to tier X because I don't like SPG play. It doesn't bother me. A friend of mine intends to get every tank one day. That's nice for him. What the game offers you, even if you don't play a lot, is choices. You might really only like your own nation, or you might only like one class of ship. Perhaps you have plenty of time and you want everything. It's up to each player. I don't recognise what you say about premium ships. I buy a ship I want when it becomes available because I know that WG sometimes pull in-game objects from sale and never sell them again. Nikolai, Gremiashchy, and Belfast are examples.

Don't do it on my recommendation alone. I am a very average player.

I know there are specific calibres of gun for which IFHE is essential, the six inch guns of Belfast and Perth for example. Yet it feels really good to hit ships with Haida and Gallant guns with IFHE shells also. Ultimately you might argue IFHE costs seven points because you need to use Demolition expert to bring back the fire chance.

I expect I'm doing it wrong...

I was pleasantly surprised to find my 17 point Commonwealth commander whom I have trained up on Perth will work well in Haida. I just need to use the last two points on Last Stand. This will mirror my UK RN line with Belfast commander doing well in Gallant. That Jingles video is one of his best.

With some Coal I bought the speed boost extender because I only ever get radar from crates. This thing can shift across the map really fast. Stand off at good range and rain HE down on the baddies.53 Only thing I wish I had was a build with RFD to hunt the enemy stealth DDs, but then my large detection range sort of does that for me.

Unfortunately for you the Kagero hasn't changed much from the era where Japanese Destroyers were masters of the sea. Meanwhile the game is always changing to make life harder for the DD player because the BB lobby are pretty much the only players to whom WG listen. Now the seas are continuously swept by radar, you can be detected in smoke from further away than the auto detect range, the enemy sees your torpedoes sooner than they would originally. And of course there are other nations DD lines that will rip you to pieces if they see you, equipped with speed boosts and speed boost extenders that can do 50kts and they know where you are because of the Radio Direction Finding skill. German BB secondaries can nail you from 11.3km and BBs have sonar now. There was a time when you had to spend a commander skill point to get the detection warning. Not any longer. So yes it can be hard. I suppose the other thing is that BB players don't sail in straight lines as much any more. Bit of a bummer. Good luck. This will be a test of your character.

Finally got home to open my container and I got 20 Wyvern flagas and two duplicates from the collection m(bound yo be ans I have completed that). I'd have preferred Dragon flags but hey ho it's free. Once again thanks to OP.
