  1. Just take IFA, stay ready to evade vs any target(s) you can see, and if the alarm goes off for any reason (even targets you cant see will trigger it) start to maneuver very hard. Works fine for me.

    Rebalance CVs

While I agree that CV play does need some fundamental changes I am not sure if removing fighters will do the trick. The problem is how to implement a CV's prime element - aka asymetric warfare - into the game without CV's becomming an overly decisive factor (or indecisive factor). So let us take a look how CV combat looked in real life (not a fan of those comparisons but we need to take a quick glance here in order to better understand how the asymetric warfare is implemented in-game). First there never ever were extensive mixed air/sea battles involving planes and exchange of shells. Second each capital ship had their fair share of AA support ships in order to defend against CV strikes (and submarines). This meant that through clear roles a basic teamwork against a dangerous and common threat was already established and unless targeted themselves the support ships were not in danger of getting sunk. Now have a look of what we have in-game. First and formost we have mixed air/sea battles which brings a phletora of problems/changes! AA support ships are now supposed to participate both in the air war as well as in the surface war. Obviuosly that does not work as most AA ships (cruisers) are missing the tools/survivability and range (both gun and AA) to do so. They can either stay back with their capital ships, mostly doing nothing but warding against an AA strike that may never come or try to surface engage the enemy with a high chance of getting sunk by return fire (as we all know the current meta). This means that there simply is no natural teamwork against CV's and even if there is it can be and easily is shattered by surface engagements. So the monumental task for Wargaming is to make their CV's fit in their mixed battles without sticking out (too much). In regards to your suggestion if fighters are removed and CV's are designed as pure damage dealers this may indeed force some more "teamwork" but other than making players feel coerced to cuddle or be herded together I would still consider it some kind of forced teamwork (unliked by many players) instead of a more natural teamwork. Also I do not agree that CV's do not need to fight themselves by removing fighters and adding defensive AA. Every single ship has to fight its counter-parts eventually (ask DDs) so why should CV's be an exception of this rule? That's like playing any MMORPG, MOBA or strategy game where ranged units (often the prime damage dealer) can not target each other. Other classes have fun being at the receiving end while your own CV can only shrug and continue the damage race? P.S.: When talking about natural or forced teamwork think of roleplaying terms, where e.g. a tank and a healer is the smallest natural (and often said viable) team versus e.g. a team of a melee damage dealer and a ranged damage dealer who - apart form stacking damage - usually do not interact very much.

    Halloween waste of time

So, here's a story from A to Z, you wanna get XP, you gotta listen carefully...
  4. ...not release premium ships in an order like this: Premium BB Nelson Premium BB Kii Premium BB October Revolution Premium BB Giulio Cesare Premium BB Massachusetts Premium BB Musashi ... Premium BB Nextcashgrab? It is not overly surprising that when customers do buy something they also want to use it. If WG really wanted to address BB overpopulation they simply need not to release premium BB for quite some time (I'd reckon at least 6 months, maybe even a year) while simultaneously pumping out a lot of good premium CA and DD.
  5. Perhaps there should be an ingame tooltip like "When in battle just press 'H' for an interesting read..."

    IJN DD Sisters Nerf Them

Please keep in mind that all premium ships will accept any captain of the same nation. And while I give my 19pt Shimakaze captain a spin in my Kamikaze R once in a while I think that this very captain had like 7 skill points when I actively leveled the Minekaze. So comparing silver and premium ships performance is not as easy as you might think.

6.12 marks the end of World of Warships

October 19th, 2017: P.S.: I do also not favour the changes but I do not deem them "end" worthy...

    The limitation of modding

You do not understand. This is not about effort. As far as I am concerned it either is in the vanilla client or it does not exist (and this is basically the same issue I have with mods). It is my deliberate decision not to download or manually adjust anything in order to not further support Wargaming's obvious inequity in between two of their own titles.

    The limitation of modding

The one that is lazy here are not the players but Wargaming themselves. Replays: * WoT: Included in the game client * WoWs: Has to be installed manually Training room: * WoT: Included in the game client * WoWs: Has to be installed manually I have extensively used both options in WoT but I do not all all bother to manually install them for WoWs. The year is 2017 not 1997.

    People hate russian dds

I don't hate Russian DDs. I hate that their gunboat line is classified and treated as DDs.

    The limitation of modding

Very much this. Any mod that provides additional information or helps processing existing information better should be included in the vanilla client and the sooner the better. There should only ever be 3 distinctive stati for each and any mod: 1) Accepted and (to be) included in the client (soon), 2) under evaluation, 3) banned. The whole idea of an 'official 3rd party modpack' is ridiculous from the very start. P.S.: All the above is excluding any purely cosmetic mods, like painting all your ships St. Patrick's Day green or changing the rangefinder numerals from Arabic to Roman, as those can still be used as the user sees fit.
  13. In WoT you receive enough gold to actually play one or two tech tree premiums each time the test server is set up. Though test server games are not really comparable to random games I used this option on a regular basis in order to decide if to buy or not to buy a tank. Was a little astonished that they dropped this option in WoWs so I fully support this rental option.

  17. Don't forget that AR also boosts torp reload, which can get quite nasty on a 5.X km visibility 10% HP left DD.
  18. Don't have it on most of my BB's as I usually go for a 3x4 skill setup that does not allow a second 2nd row skill after EM. It's a damn fine skill however so most of my cruisers and destroyers use it (which inherently seem to be less 'dependent' on 4th row skills).

Helping cruisers is easier than what you might think.

Ideas: - Provide heals for cruisers at T8 and possibly even at T7. It's nothing like a T8 cruiser that has to play with the 'big boys'. - Reduce gimmicks on ships that are not CA. There can be only one! (class that has them) - Allow CA to use more of their gimmicks simultaneously, e.g. not having to choose in between hydro and AA barrage. Making cruisers the Swiss army knife they need to be. - Increase BB service costs while lowering CA service costs. Perhaps this could lead players to actually switch to CA because of credits. Double edged swords: - Increase BB visibility either throughout the board or during reloads (depending on calibre). May lead to even more passive BB. - Increase BB accuracy, so when you actively evade you wont get hit by stray citadels. Will punish weaker players the most so WG would hurt their largest player base.

Hits on cittadel from 5-10km distance

Either aim for superstructure using AP (mostly overpenetrations) or aim for lesser armoured parts using AP (bow/stern; only if angle is not too steep; either overpenetrations or regular penetrations) or try to start fires by aiming at the superstructure using HE. In some cases (you usually need to use very big caliber guns) and if the enemy is not angling correctly you can also try to citadel enemy BB's through the bow. However this takes some experience and you need to know which guns will be able to overmatch which enemy's armor.
  22. No I do not look at it from my perspective I am trying to help you by looking at it from a positive perspective, not a negative one. And to give you some outlook as you said you might want to wait for a marathon. Since I started playing WoWs two years ago I got the following mid/high premium ships 'for free' (and a couple of T2 and T3, but that don't yield too much credits): Kamikaze R - T5 Japanese DD - marathon Admiral Graf Spee - T6 German CA - marathon (just this christmas) Shinonome - T6 Japanese DD - finish the 'Honorable Service' campaign Nelson - T7 British BB - 375k free XP (available in tech tree) Missouri - T9 American BB - 750k free XP (available in tech tree; best credit printer in game)
  23. The system is neither broken nor unfair but it is not especially well explained by the game itself (no tutorial). For starters there is a fixed service fee for every ship/tier, so as soon as you enter battle you have lost money regardless of the damage you receive. Even 0 damage to your ship will require you to pay the full repair fee. The only way to make money is to deal damage, kill enemies, spot for the team and other actions that Wargaming deems worthy to be cashed in credits. If you have them use the flags that reduce service costs (-10%; use only at T9 and T10) as well as the flags that provide additional income (+20%; all ships that you use to grind money as well when you play T9 and T10). Wargaming is a company and needs to make money to get the game going and they do this by selling premium account, premium ships and premium camo, all of which let you grind credits a lot easier (and flags of course, however you can not buy those as single items). You simply ran in a situation where you grinded a (what - considering the current high tier meta - most players would consider only mediocre) line and in addition to that rushed a ship that does desperately needs all extra modules/equipment/100% trained captain to be fully effective without having sufficient ressources to provide that extras.
  24. Don't do this while you are still enraged. Sleep over it and then decide. A word of wisdom though: WoWs is no race. T10 is not some final goal to be reached in the minimum amount of games possibe. The route is the goal! Just keep this in mind and take your time and things will eventually look much brighter than they may be now.
