And how exactly do I accomplish this challenge?

Super potatoe league is... -
The switch from Edinburgh (decent armor) to Neptune (citadel extends up to flag mast) is quite brutal. If you are able to adopt your playstyle you can have a blast with the T9/10 RN cruisers though.
-
Germans T8 and up are real heavy cruisers and are considerably tanky (as is Myoko T7 for example) in addition to having great firing ranges. Especially Roon does excel in kiting BB's due to the unique dual rear turret arrangement. By the way I do use IFA on all my cruisers captains to good effect.

Winning games by making enemy BB's wasting their potential damage on you. Apart from that much that has to be done to improve CA gameplay has already been mentioned here: Reduce number of BB per battle, make cruisers the swiss army knife they deserve to be (Def AA + Hydro/Radar) and give every damn T8 cruiser their much needed heals. P.S.: Was about to buy a prem T8 cruiser over christmas but found exactly none worth buying. Already have the Takao, so Atago is more or less out of question, Prinz Eugen is too much of a carbon copy and also missing a decent gimick (smoke/heal) and Kutusov is not for sale atm. That's right people, currently you can't spent money on a decent T8 cruiser even if you wanted to.

If the only thing you want to do is to YOLO rush the enemy (typical for secondary build BB's) then CE is of course a waste. If however you want to do any tactical/strategical gameplay then CE is almost a must on any BB as it is simply too good to pass. * Attack (very easy to surprise attack others ships from critical ranges / angles especially when supporting your scouts; most DD and CA don't like it when they try to push your DDs out of caps and suddenly get pummeled from 12km) * Defense (option of disengaging earlier as the enemy can't kill what he can't shoot; especially viable as an "oh-crap" option if you are heavily out-numbered with the added benefit that you still are a threat/distraction) * Maneuvering (turning undetected equals avoiding to show broadside; switching flanks undetected equals a confused/timid/slowed enemy) * Meta-gaming (easier to determine unspotted ship locations; keeping the enemy guessing is a big deal about warfare)

CV's are "OP" because the good ones require a change in gameplay for all other players. And usually the other players don't like any changes to their gameplay which are forced upon them by the one CV player. Therefore the hate.

5 crates does not seem to be a high enough number to provide statistically "good" yields. I bought 5/5/5 boxes and got the Gallant + some doubloons, camo and flags, which is fine, but not extraordinary. The guys that bought 20 boxes *and* reported here seem to have more consistant "luck".

The only problem with DDs and games is their matchmaking algorithm, namely: 1) DD's are not balanced by sub-class (gunboat/no stealth vs torpedoboat/stealth) 2) DD's are not balanced by tier if not top tier (VIII's vs VII's can happen in a tier IX game) 3) Amount of radar ships on each team not balanced at all

Which Ships you would you like to find in a supercontainer (but never buy) ?

Hood, as I already own Nelson and Warspite and don't need another T7 RN BB. -
-
Ok, looks like I read or remembered that wrong.
-
Aren't you locked if 2 vs 1 without possible escape by strafing? Another counter-intuitive rule.
-
I'll take an eXpresso, a lasaggne and some gnokkies. ^^

The most curious thing is, that WG's WoT has all those game mode options, but you also need to keep in mind that the player base is much larger so you will always have enough players for each mode.

@PzychoPanzer@ForlornSailor As much as I hate standard battles myself and disagree with @ColonelPete he is clearly not derailing this thread. The opening argument was about how boring standard battles are and that we need to have a choice not to play them (which I agree to), his valid input to the discussion was that - depending on playstyle - standard battles do not need to be boring per se, which is a valid opinion.

Please Wargaming - let us change the names of captains to avoid duplicates

Like father and sons? (even the historic dates for the ships somewhat match) -
If you need credits and have a port slot to spare (and you will need some patience too) I would suggest the following. 1) Work your way up the US cruisers until you unlock tier VI cruiser Cleveland. 2) Buy Cleveland at a massive discount (e.g. there will be a US special starting 30.11. which will grant 30% silver discount for Cleveland; ~2 million credits still required). 3) Optional: Consider buying permanent camo for Cleveland (1000 doubloons). Why do I recommend this? The US cuiser Cleveland will be moved up the tiers because of the upcomming US cruiser split (date not yet fixed though, so it may be quite a wait) and it will move from tier VI to tier VIII. This means that after the split you just can sell it for an extra couple million credits (selling price will be around 4.5 million credits, so you will earn ~2.5 million credits in one go). Why is the paint optional? Because ships usually take their camo with them when they are moved within the tech tree (however this is not fixed yet, so you should wait for the official anouncement). This means that if you paint your Cleveland at tier VI (1000 doubloons) and want to keep it you most probably will get the tier VIII Cleveland with its respective premium camo "for free" (regular price for tier VIII premium camo is 3000 doubloons).

I'm curious, what's the female proportion in WoWs?
Ubertron_X replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in Off-Topic
However I can't really understand why, because: *Edited -
Just keep in mind that HE gets significantly stronger by as much as your fires started manage to overpower the enemies repair party, as you will have noticed if you ever teamed up with a friendly RN CA in comparison to a friendly IJN CA. The more people use HE and start fires the more potent and dangerous it gets! So I too use HE often, especially if accompanied by a friendly fire-starter (Kutusov, Belfast, Mogami etc), even if in a BB for as long as the enemy does not offer better pot shots.

The prime question is not when but for how long...

Though I am not as pessimistic about my chances as OP when I do get uptiered I too don't like the overly high probability of being uptiered. Maybe change matchmaking algorithms to create full T10 matches first and only throw any remaining T10s in lower tiered battles? Apart from having to play less uptiered battles as a T8 then it also is a huge difference if the setup of T10/T9/T8 is 2/5/5 or 8/2/2 per team.

Totally my fault, no way it was the team, right? RIGHT?
Ubertron_X replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Best teams are those who call AB or BC and then nobody ever stays at or even near B because:
