Warchester, no other pronounciation thinkable or possible...
-
You see comrade, if use stealth and torpedoes then must be submarine!
-
One specialised single-minded purpose and playstyle. No variation possible. Counter-example: Leningrad * same speed as Khaba * can gun-boat * has stealth * has workable torps Result: Leningrad can change playstyle on the fly and adjust to any situation that the team, set-up or situation requires. You can cap, cap-contest, shoot up enemy DDs, shoot up enemy capital ships, spot for the team, torp capital ships and much more. That is what I call interesting gameplay. Khaba has exactly one style of play.
-
The Khaba is still an excellent ship, however it is a most boring ship, both while playing yourself as well as playing against. Also I find it ironic that this cruiser without a citadel labelled DD is most suceptable to AP damage which however fits its overall DD CA theme. Putting a 12k+ BB AP salvo into a Khaba always brings a smile on my face. Dodge and repair that, ship without a purpose...

I am also not quite sure on RPF for torpedo boats. For sure it is mega helpful for avoiding enemy DDs, however it also telegraphs your presence to the capital ships you actually want to torp like no other. I therefore mostly take RPF for aggressive DD action (German Z-series or PA destroyers), not for torp bots, however this choice is more of a preferential playstyle thingy. It still is a fantastic skill, so taking RPF should not make your Kagero experience worse.

World of "Every island has an HE spammer behind it."
Ubertron_X replied to AngreyNoob's topic in General Discussion
It is an easy and effective tactic indeed. My only complaint is that counterplay options are somewhat limited if you combine high arcs, isles and radar. You can either stay away because usually high arc means less range and longer flight times or you can kill all of his friends first (already winning the game in most cases) before you can flank and push the enemy out of position. -
Unfortunately you can only give +1 once...

Just rename to Warchester and we are good...

Look like another "don't play T8 weekend"...

Yeah this kind of missions are not especially easy to do. Let's take a closer look: 1st requirement: Victory 2nd requirement: Most XP on your team 3rd requirement: 12 fires or flooding 4the requirement: Tier IX and X only 5th requirement: Destroyer or Aircraft Carriers only 6th requirement: US ships only 7th requirement: Random Battles only Thats right: You need to win a good to exceptional game, using restriced tier, class and nation (leaving at most 4 ships to do this in) in just one possible game mode and achieving a heavily RNG dependant result. Thank god I am no completionist, so I won't actively try missions like these even if I have/could have the ships in addition to being a decent player...

Indianapolis Marathon (01.06. - 16.07.)

Which is perfectly in line with either everybody can do it or nobody can do it. The question is how high or low to put the bar in order to set at least some challenge. Are 5% of the playerbase supposed to be able to finish the marathon? Or 10%? Or 50% or 95%? Only WG knows... -
Indianapolis Marathon (01.06. - 16.07.)

However there is theory and practice. In theory every opportunity that at least one guy on the planet can do counts as equality of opportunity. In practice it is either everybody can do it or nobody can do it in order to count as equality of opportunity, at least in my book. Just set a contest to sprint 100 meters in under 10 seconds in order to win a sports cars and see how many can actually manage that. And WG is infamous for setting harsh requirements as I remember some WoT marathons that required you to either be unemployed, still in school / university or retired in order to be able to complete them. Disclaimer: I am doing well in this marathon and I also don't think that the mission requirements are too harsh. However I do understand that less gifted players might consider them harsh. It is the knowledge of what you can do versus the level of the requirement that determines if you find any requirement(s) unfair or not. So if your name is not Ursain Bolt you might find some opportunities less equal than others... -
I don't know about you but my UI (standard game client) seems to fail to show all reports received, i.e. I often lose karma (the few I have) without any notification at all. Anyone else getting reported without proper notification?

Divisions are not invincible, but they are skill multipliers. For good and for worse! That is normal/good players teaming up => better performance. Bad players teaming up => even worse performance.

I sense a certain toxicity in the thread, so how about some music to lighten up the mood?

Rant / CV / AA / in-game exploits / a request
Ubertron_X replied to wot_chikor's topic in General Discussion
OP can I have you in the enemy team please? I still need to down 40 planes in a cruiser for the stage 5 mission 2 Yamamoto campaign and haven't found a CV player that feeds me enough planes yet. Most are clever enough to stop comming for me after the first wave of planes lost. -
Best ship for 150 hits? (Indianapolis Marathon)
Ubertron_X replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
Farragut and Cleveland should both work, the former via smoke HE spamming, the later via island hugging HE spamming, however Cleve is probably the more safe solution. I did the mission using Roon using it's patented 455-tanking/kiting playstyle. -
Ahh, I see that the gimmick for the Russian BB's has finally leaked...
