    Unless you try to micro-manage 6 to 8 squads in different corners of the map (which you should not try to do anyway) or trying to conduct a triple cross-drop on a heavily evading target the current CV play is less about APM but about knowledge and timing. Knowledge what to hit, where to hit and when to hit and timing of strafes and timing of strikes. While the former is more related to theoretical knowledge about AA bubbles range and power, AA skill duration, durability of your own planes, torpedo and deck protection of your target etc the later usually is the problem for the majority of players as timing requires immense skill (and in case of strafing attacks a lot of theoretical knowledge and practise too). And while even I can quite reliably hit targets with strikes using both attack types I for one never bothered to invest into the art of strafing (general timing, locking of enemy fighters and strafing out of a lock, counter-strafing etc). Instead I found that the skill level required to perfom well against more than mediocre opponents made me quit CVs, simply because skill gaps are immense and as a CV you can be shut down by a skilled adversary too easily. So no, CV play is not about constant APM but about careful planning and the actions and timing in the 5 to 15 seconds where it matters (execution phase).

Though CE is by no means a necessary captain skill for BB's in my opinion the absence of this skill vastly increases the player skill requirement for correct map and battle reading and subsequent movement / route planning else your survivability may severely drop. Thus my recommendation will always be to only skip CE if you already are a veteran player and you know what you are doing.
  3. Very much this. T7 to T8 are the only tiers where ships and typical engagement distances can make a secondaries build shine. On T9 and T10 AFT may help with AA, but only if the enemy CV is not T10 too. Alternatively you can take 3x 4-point skills (CE, AFT and FP), although you will have to sacrifice other skills if you do. I usually love to combine secondary capability, AA and FP at the cost of a little survivability. 1: Priority Target, Expert Loader 2: Expert Marksman or Adrenaline Rush (depending on your turret speed; Germans tend to be rather fast anyway) 3: Basic Firing Training 4: Fire Prevention, Advanced Firing Training, Concealment Expert The downside is that if you take 3x 4-point skills you probably will be missing skills like Superintendant or Basics of Survivability.

    People like Stats but which ones matter

    Apart from solo win rate there is ONE important stat that is currently hidden from us and that I would really like to have in the statistics. And this value would be % damage done! The games already uses this stat to determine XP and credit rewards so it should readily be available. And this stat would be way better suited to determine player skill than total damage done (inherently flawed by uneven HP distribution over the classes), XP received (inherently flawed by premium time, however WG could easily fix this and display base XP only) or K/D ratio (inherently flawed because WoWs is no shooter and the killing shot is just the last shot that finally kills the target).

    Do you enjoy playing against CV?

    1. CV's need to be in nearly every match. Else some skill and equipment does not make sense and you literally have no choice how to spec or which built to use. 2. Skillgap and CV influence needs to be looked at. A unicum player in a 12 vs 12 battle is less influencial than a unicum player in a 1 vs 1 vs 11 environment. 3. AA / plane interaction needs to be looked at. The difference in between fully AA spec'ed and stock captains/ships is simply too big. Apart from the above there are a lot of good arguments for both sides: Take evasive action to minimze strike damage <> looks at circular bomb patterns and planes that can run circles around your ship at higher tiers. Use friendly CA AA cover <> mourns the broken hulls of his support cruisers that where killed by stray BB salvos. The end comes soon. We hear drums, drums in the sky. They are coming ... AA ist too stronk (it mostly is) <> yet to see a decent high tier CV run out of planes by AA alone. etc. etc. What I would really like to see - apart from a sensible CV revamp - would be some alternative CV vs CV battlemodes in addition to some Jutland type capital ship action. Those CV battles could center around CV's, e.g. your CV acting as a mobile cap, so if your CV is down the battle is lost. Perhaps such a mode could even help to improve teamplay and teach people how to play versus CV's in random battles too.

    Hi there, I am using the following setup on mine: Priority Target, Preventive maintenance Adrenaline Rush, Last Stand Survivability expert, Torpedo Armament Expertise, Basic Firing Training Concealment expert Also I am running the Def AA module and consumable, just because I can. In the end it is mostly all about personal preference, e.g. while @Kenliero has maximized his torpedo power, my build is somewhat more focused on DD gun duels, respectively swiss army kniving (TAE+BFT+AR work nicely together once you did your first couple of clashes and are on below 50% health or similar). Would not recommend AFT though.

    The only one complicating the issue is Wargaming themselves. It is either 3 flags or 3x 30 wins, however not a mix-up of flags and wins as they did here.

    I have to admit the offical announcement counfused me too when it was originally posted. Until I did take a closer look and noticed the difference of the depictation of the ship on those flags. The infograph clearly shows the flags for 1st and 2nd season. The flag for the 3rd season is not shown (it was shown in the mission though) and apparently either not needed or counted. I have to admit though that I do not know WHY WG chose to not show it, because you needed 30 wins to get it, so the infograph could as well have shown all 3 flags.

  15. I always found it fishy and extremely counter-intuitive that capping with two ships will in most cases be slower than capping alone. If you have a no camo Izumo and a full camo Kagero capping and the Izumo is constantly spotted and reset by enemy fire then their mutual effort will be slower than just the Kagero capping which to me does not make sense at all. Even if the Izumo is hit a quadrillion times and her cap contribution is zero the Kagero needs to secure cap after 180s, same as capping alone.

    Where would we end up if players would just be allowed to wait until the event is nearly finished, see how many tokens they actually managed to collect and then just buy the containers they need to "cheat" a second permanent tier 10 camo out of Wargaming. This will teach you filithy capitalist westerners to buy the containers you want, not the containers you need, da?

    Why not grant all ARP ships the ability to mount any camo, which however is just not displayed? This way this more or less regular ships could mount and use camo like any regular ship does?

    If you go full shark you can still get the Wooooster shark camo, however you will need to spend a couple of bucks for it...

    Only the Wooooooooooooooooooster has a very distinctive shark camo in contrast to a likewise very distinctive eagle camo. For the DM and Salem you will always receive the "make the US great again" (aka freedom) camo, which is bald eagle themed regardless of which kind of tokens you use to buy it.
