We have asked for either key standardization OR key remapping for ages, however the topic does not seem to be high on WG's agenda.

I do consider the FdG the last true BB of the KM line. GK probably is the better ship (and even by a large margin), however the GK experience is not consistent with the experience from Bayern to FdG. While FdG can still be considered a "super" Bismarck, even with all the differences and disadvantages due to the increase in tiers, the abomination that is named GK plays entirely different than FdG (even worse gun angles, even worse maneuverability, even worse meta). When I play FdG I usually use endurance oder generalist builds.

Poll: How should WG handle overperforming premium ships?
Ubertron_X replied to ColonelPete's topic in General Discussion
How about: Balance them however they want to but always include a buyback option? -
Just strike an Arkansas Beta and I bet you will be fine!

The difference Sigma makes.

Move the mouse over the target and/or press X? You can also shoot unlocked, but the dispersion will be even worse (like shooting into smoke etc). -
Belfast [Post Giulio Cesare saga]
Ubertron_X replied to anonym_WQDIB9XrzbSp's topic in General Discussion
Actually I would not mind putting Belfast in Tier I or II without change of stats because then their owners could do some real seal clubbing plus she would not bother me from T5 to T9 anymore. -
What however if the graphs tell us that BB players actually managed to become better, e.g. better at hitting HE shells while camping at range?

Premium ships vs doubloon camo tech tree ships
Ubertron_X replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
If you start from scratch and are a "freeloader" then yes, maybe. Apart from the different playstyles (e.g. Graf Spee) most experienced players however will use premium ships for the ease of captains training. -
Something seems to be off though. A friend of mine needs to play one to two games before his gun sounds return (each time after starting the game)...

The thing is, where does skill end and where does pay to win start? How about a ship that automatically wins the better by just pressing join, even without the player controlling it? Or a ship that does always get results as if it had won (winning credits and XP)?

While I can understand some of the reason for this change, the same line of thought would apply to radar versus DD's, wouldn't it? "This will prevent cases where a DD comes within range of a ship with its radar switched off, after which the ship activates radar and causes serious and sudden damage to the DD."

Astonishingly enough I have not had my arm handed to me while driving a DD by a CV yet. The most annoying thing usually is the constant spotting and related surface fire. However there where times when I faced a good CV player and was completely relegated to screening duty, i.e. no gung-ho solo stunts / flanks or even attempting to cap but constantly staying in the AA bubble of at least one AA capable ship (CA or BB), which is roughly 5km to 6km in front of your own fleet. Just yesterday when I was up against a Midway in my Benson I used a Moskva for cover and together we downed like 35 planes while I spotted a lot of torps and fought enemy DDs that were trying to sneak up on my teammates. Regarding the poll I have to admit that I can not easily chose any of those options. While I was not a fan of the old RTS system the new system has its own set of flaws which WG has not yet addressed. If and only if WG managed to eliminate at the the most glaring of those flaws the new system might become better than the old one, however if WG fails to solve the equation the new system might easily become worse than the old system. I like/liked and hate/hated some aspects of both systems, so unless we are presented a near final version of the current iteration it is too early for me to decide.

April fools, make ships detonate on beaching.
Ubertron_X replied to Yosha_AtaIante's topic in General Discussion
Naa, just implement exponentially increasing damage ticks as long as the speed reduction for border crossing is active. This way accidential border collision will still be punished to some degree but extensive border humping and/or border sliding will be discouraged. On the other had I would be perfectly fine for beaching to cause a flooding... -
Bought on day one, fitted, not played yet. From what I have seen and read the Alaska is an open water cruiser done right (perhaps even a litte too right when looking at the stats). Finally as I have to say. Open water respectively (super) heavy cruisers should mainly be about AP and leave the IFHE HE spam to their smaller caliber island hugging brothers and sisters (unless you are a german CA, in which case you also spam HE because of anaemic AP).

BB DD is best DD. Kii and Mutsu have torps! IJN nerfed again!! OMG!!!

Either the server hamsters fell from their wheel or WG needs to hot fix some exploit (tinfoil conspiracy mode on). Anyways good fight, good night!

@MrConway One question I have asked myself a couple of times now (and have not seen answered anywhere else): Why is it neither possible to see the "Ammunition & Consumables" nor the "Upgrades" info for tech tree ships that you do not (yet or currently) own? So if I actually consider to buy a - lets say - Alabama for doubloons, or consider moving from Ranger to Lexington I would probably need to take a look in the WoWs wiki in order to finalize my decision. => May I herewith humbly suggest that above mentioned information is also displayed for tech tree ships (normal and premium) that you do not own within the normal UI? Having to use an external source is just impractical and does not make much sense.
-
I am afraid that you misread his question/complaint. Apparently it is not possible to see (like just having it displayed) how much xp your ships have accumulated without owning at least 1 (?) doubloon. He is not asking for free conversion.
-
Exit zones are for the weak and bad scenario design. Operations should be about shooting things up!

Discrepancy in "Alaska" prices (for cash and for FreeXP if one converts "Regular XP" to "Free XP" with Doubloons) - deliberate or accidental?
Ubertron_X replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I really wonder where this will end someday Considering that there is no real drain of ingame currency (at least not a steady one) I guess WG will have to come up with at least 42 different new currencies eventually... Doubloons - devaluated because of limited use Free XP - devaluated because easy to accumulate Coal - somewhat devaluated because also relatively easy to accumulate Steel - still carries some value as income is difficult / low and prices are usually high etc.
