    Battleships everywhere! Where are others?

    1. Do not 100% believe what the waiting screen is telling you as in my experience what is displayed does not seem like any realtime queue numbers. However the numbers displayed usually still provide clear trends. 2. Having said so I and others noticed BB's currently trending too, which left us quite puzzling as the current events, missions and game modes do not in any way promote BB gameplay and since the release of the phat american BB's a couple of days have past already.

New ranked is breaking the game

While this is an respectable amount of doubloons for "just playing the game" and on the danger of sounding like a whale: If I wanted 12k doubs I'd rather pay 40 Euros and be done with it in the 2 minutes it takes for the transaction than to play the mode for a full 30 weeks. Also if you don't plan to play without camos or flags (which surely is possible), how many camos and flags you will have spent during this 30 weeks of play in relation to all the steel and doubs you get?

New ranked is breaking the game

As I never played ranked for steel or to rank out, the new mechanics and rewards have killed ranked for me. Having to admit that I have never been a big fan / player I usually played at least some games every season for camo/flags, the special flag (which was a big incentive) and eventually even for the 2nd league flag in order to save some credits while ranked was running, i.e. I usually played till rank 15 or 14 and sometimes to 10. Perhaps I did this in the very first week, perhaps I did this over the course of several weeks, perhaps I did it during the last week only, depending on my own time schedule and on the games other events and missions. As ranked games usually did not count for other events I only played those battles during WoWs "spare time". The new ranked however is a "do or don't within 1 week over-and-over again" type of system, so if it stays this way I permanently opt for don't. I understand that you can now grind a decent amount of steel and even doubloons as a single player, and that is is supposed to be available constantly instead of being its own separate event, however this simply does not cut it for me.
  4. Dunno about Friesland being rated this high. Yes it can farm damage like crazy in certain situations, however it can't do frak on its own. Usually can't do a single point of damage without a spotter, can't push a cap versus any decent DD player due to bad camo and can't deter any half-hearted enemy push because the lack of torps. If you somehow get pushed in the open by ships with no access to a long range hydro or radar all the while having a spotter, good for you.

Yours worst and best premium purchases of the 2020

Best: Ignis Purgatio I know that it is just an Amagi clone with worse reload and a tiny bit more accuracy, but for me the combination of speed, armor and firepower still works splenid. Worst: Z-39 Quite surprising, even for me but the main battery just doesn't provide enough firepower even with an enourmous health pool to back it up. Not that it is a bad ship per se, it is just not matching my playstyle.

High tier state of the game not strategical anymore

No country for old man, aka e-sports takes its toll. Static gameplay may be fun to watch (and play) for some, but usually not fun to watch (and play) for most. I quit WoT because it went down this exact route a couple of years ago, making the game faster and faster (WG: more dynamic) until it became a scoot and shoot clickfest. I will quit WoWs too once the current development has progressed far enough.

High tier state of the game not strategical anymore

While this is of course correct in principle, the setup really likes to screw up parity by pairing the high tier ships of one side versus all low tier ships on the enemy side. So in reality there is at least one very good excuse to stay back from the start and it is called matchmaking spread.

    My latest creation

Well... if you actually had this exact number of planes on deck, then perhaps balans could be achieved.

Don't play if you can't handle EPICENTRE!!!

The problem with this is that the designers vision and how the meta plays out is radically different because the territory you need to control in order to have a high chance of winning is not the Epicentre itself but the flanks. Maybe the designers envisioned massive close combat brawls in the center of the map, however this is entirely not how it works in random. Find enclosed my "best winning strategy" for random Epicentre battles. 1) Use a token force to contest the center without thinking much about winning early on. Blocking the enemy is 100% all you need. 2) Send the majority of your forces to the flanks trying to win one or both massively increasing your map control. 3) If the enemy tries to rush center and to dislodge your token force mangle or kill them via crossfire from the flanks. 4) Once you have secured a flank first crush center, then the remaining flank with your now superior map control. So in a stealthy DD, go mid and block the hell out of the cap without dying. In a gunboat you may want to go to a flank. In a radar cruiser go for a position close to the cap in order to radar the enemy token blocking forces. If you can kill a DD or two early you have very much won. Open water cruisers should go to a flank to support the push with their guns and hydro. Battleships all go flank and push hard in order to win their respective flanks (depending on the distribution of forces of course). A single hard-target bow-on BB (e.g. Soyuz) in middle can be helpful in discouraging and thwarting enemy push attempts. Focus fire any surface ships that dare to push in from all sides. Which means you have now turned a "all random, all mid" kind of battle into the ships equivalent of Cannae.

    Updates to Ranked Battles

Thanks for the heads-up! Still wondering why the flag is and always has been hidden in the text and not shown in the overview graphics. Edit: I just overlooked this when I saw the ugly flag. ^^

    Updates to Ranked Battles

Hm... I played the last 16 seasons for some extra signals and the commemorative flag and I cant see either in the current rewards...
  14. My "forgotten" lines are CV's. While I have every other T10 tech tier ship (when I am not currently resetting lines or grinding new ones like the phat US BB's). I did play CV a bit while RTS and made a couple of test games in the new meta. Stuck at Weser (6), Ranger (6), Furious (6) and Shokaku (8). And while I have to admit that I never bothered to properly learn the flak minigame, to me overall CV Gameplay is simply not applealing .

Jean Bart B bundled with Jean Bart mission?

Well, it certainly means not everyone is funny, even with humor in the name...

Jean Bart B bundled with Jean Bart mission?

The problem is that it is only clearly explained in the "fine print" and not in the "ad" itself. And yes you should read the complete item description, especially when buying online items. And no people sometimes just don't read any (perceived) tl;dr parts. For example, how many EULAs have you already agree to without reading a single sentence of it? Ideally the line item in the bundle contents should also read "Combat Mission for 2,500 Doubloons FOR THE REGULAR COSSACK". So technically WG did nothing wrong, but they could do a lot better.

The AI has found a way to neutralise CV threat

Thats about the difference in between Midway the island and Midway the carrier.

    Resupply flags using ingame currency

Auto-resupply should not be pre-selected as the default setting as it can and will always and directly lead to waste of some sorts (flags/camo/silver/doubloons). So instead of adding a button to disable auto-resupply it should not set as the default in the first place.

Nothing Changes what is wrong with people?

There is nothing wrong with a little caution, especially at the beginning of the battle when both teams are still at full strength. And playing around your ships concealment range (typically 12 to 14km if your BB is build for it) is also very proper behavior. As long as you can present yourself as a target as needed (e.g. your cruisers need to go dark but you don't want the enemy to advance at full speed) and you can go dark as needed as well you are probably doing fine. The cruical question for any BB (or CA for that matter) captain should always be: "If need be, can I do a full turn and start running/kiting without ending up crippled or killed while doing so?" In case your answer is 'YES' you are still on the cautious/controlled/safe side of the battle. In case your answer is 'NO' you should at least consider yourself committed (and sometimes already may be overcommitted) and you now need to 'finish' your course of action, one way or the other.

Nothing Changes what is wrong with people?

I call it the "oh cr4p we are losing" syndrome and given their inherent range advantage especially BB players seem prone to it. The problem is that those players probably never learned nor mastered how to stay in "effective range" of their guns without dying early, so their solution to the problem is to stay at ranges far greater than the effective range of their main battery (which is not entirely wrong, range is life, but this is of cause also true for your enemies) and to try and shoot it out from afar. This usually leads to their teams cruisers and destroyers dying unsupported which usually leads to your side losing the game pretty fast. This however seems to trigger some sort of mental alarm and/or panic reaction and those players often abruptly decide that they have to make a move now and thus suddenly advance completely unsupported, usually throwing away mint condition battleships in a matter of mere seconds after staying (too far) away from the action for most of the game. The thing is that I fear that skills like "riding your effective range / concealment range" as a main gun BB or "how to safely reach brawling distance" as a secondaries BB are skills that can not be teached easily (e.g. WG videos) but have to be learned the hard way, i.e. by practice.
