Not really. If it's a single ship, you can always dodge it. It's just not always possible when there are multiple ships shooting you, as you will not be safe from Flak inside the 3.5 km.

In fact though, it's the other way around. The skilled player can reliably make AP bombs, torps and rockets on MvR work even against people who try to evade, while Audacious DBs are a pure RNG fest where you have to hope for fires... Audacious is just user friendly but not very powerful...

That was not the point though - it was that Audacious sucks otherwise, while MvR is great.

This is why it will probably be available in the Research Bureau. So you will not see that many of them after all.

Halland's Flak is quite potent and should de-plane a straight-lining CV squadron somewhat immediately.

Because most people are bad players. And a bad player cannot deal with Halland while playing CV.

Halland is just annoying by providing AA support while you drop other ships with AP bombs. If you want to kill a Halland, it's not that hard though, especially in something like the Enterprise...

It's not like MvR cannot do anything against DDs though. We're talking about Randoms, so you can get 5k salvos with your AP rockets or torp them, while you spot them for your team to shoot. You are right that this is less effective of course, but MvR makes up for it by blasting everyones citadels apart from that, while Audacious cannot do much... As I said myself, MvR is not very versatile. I just find Audacious to be utter trash...

Nah, that's certainly the Audacious. As an anti-cruiser specialist it is an obvious choice. Haku is more consistent with the AP bombs though, the torps hit harder and the rockets can punish DDs as well as angled cruisers. So I expect both of them to be viable.

The AA on CVs is in fact most useful by preventing you from dropping your own fighter to pull away the CV fighter. Because then you could just multi-drop him.

If I would have been that Enterprise, I would have dropped him and his tiny HP with AP bombs twice immediately. Odins are hilarious in that regard.

The AP rockets work best when creating a "crossfire" or against stationary ships like Stalingrad or Des Moines (you need the TX rockets for these though).

You can say that Richthofen is an anti-cruiser specialist, yes (2 AP-options and torps that are hard to dodge). But on the other hand, the AP bombs on Haku hit more reliable against cruisers than Richthofen bombs and the AP rockets can only be used on broadsides...

The way I see it, next CW people will either bring Legendary Upgrade Hakuryu or they will bring Richthofen, as these 2 have the most potential against cruisers. Out of the 2, Haku is more versatile in Random battles, but Richthofen AP rockets are fun. To answer your question: I think it is fun and worth it, but if you want the most versatile line, you should get Haku first.

Thunderer and Slava are superior at all ranges (don't let the horizontal dispersion formula on Slava fool you, as the vertical dispersion gives more reliable citadel hits even at closer ranges). Russian BBs are way superior at mid and close range. Maybe even at long range due to the combination of still decent horizontal dispersion and better vertical dispersion. That being said, Ohio's shells are also lazy as [edited], making the guns yet again less reliable in hitting stuff. Last but not least, most people I know have experienced Ohio not getting citadels on close broadsides for what ever reason and I have had the same. Maybe the vertical dispersion is the reason, don't know. And it is a "personal attack" to point out that you actually do not have the ships you are talking about yourself? Amazing...

The thing is that in a 3v3 he could just charge you and at close range it could be deadly. Haven't tested myself yet though...

This thread is about Slava, a BB that is BY FAR more consistent than Ohio. But since you have not played Slava (or Thunderer for what it matters), your comment is rather silly.

I don't even know how to reply to that. So these BB guns are more consistent than cruiser guns? And which BBs are we talking about here, and is Ohio supposed to be on par with all of them?

He is not. You are probably waiting to pull some spreadsheet from your "back", telling us they deal sufficient damage on average or whatever. The truth is that they have a very low skill floor, but also a very low skill ceiling. For a good CV player, these things are simply pathetic and he will certainly prefer Shokaku, Enterprise or Parseval AP bombs.
