Having bad support sucks, but you can work around that. When I have no close support at the cap, I will just stay at the edge of it and send torpedoes towards RPF. Ready to run away at any moment. As soon as there is radar, I will kite out. To me it is still important to try and block the cap. Maybe get torpedo hits. Without heavy focus fire in randoms, radars are not that dangerous, if you are ready to run. If I end up having to hold a flank alone, I will try to delay them with torps, always staying at the end of their radar range, ready to kite away.

Well, you should play it more aggressively, to utilize the heal. But that just means trading health, not getting yourself killed right away. DD play always requires dancing on a fine line between aggression and self-preservation. With the heal you should really just fine-tune this a little bit towards aggression.

You don't need AA skills on the Kidd. That Defensive Fire is good enough without them. I am running a shared Gearing+Kidd captain without any AA skills and it works just fine for the Kidd. (Gearing lost 9-11 sec torpedo reload, but gained a smoke, so it is fine too.)

Full AA-spec BBs are a rarity these days. Not even Missouri can prevent a torpedo drop, if you approach from a good angle and drop immediately (and not too close). If your Ryoju meets a full AA North Carolina, then you need to wait till his AA gets peeled off by the first two RN BB HE salvos. -

Again, what you want is impunity. -Impunity from fighters, which you simply don't understand. -Impunity from enemy BB AA, because you are simply staying in their AA too long or attacking larger blobs. Just learn the game before you demand any changes. -

Blys has better gun angles, alpha damage and overall RoF. (DPM goes to Lenin since the RU HE buff, but there is no significant difference) The longer reload is even an advantage, because it gives you time to maneuver. Blys has always been the better brawler. But hey, Lenin is as fast as Khaba, which is simply fun. And Lenins shells have flatter arcs (less time to target at all distances, despite higher initial shell velocity on Blys). Haven't played either in ages though. If I want to brawl, I play my Kidd. If I want to roam, I play my Khaba.

It has already been mentioned in other threads: PA Deepwater-Torpedoes are not a special anti-BB, but a special anti-cruiser weapon. When normal torpedoes approach BBs from a 90 degree angle, the only chance to evade them, is to have them spotted early, just like DW torpedoes. DW would only provide a real advantage, when hitting BBs from a bad angle. But good DD players will always try to hit them from the side. Cruisers on the other hand are agile enough to turn into normal torpedoes that have not been spotted early. And this is where PA Deepwater-Torpedoes will have the biggest impact. The short reaction time prevents cruisers from turning into them, making them a special anti-cruiser weapon. Objectively, PA DW torpedoes won't make such a big difference for BB players. Cruisers are getting shafted yet again.

In the end I did it in Kamikaze by dropping 2 torps every 15sec at the same target. Should also work in Minekaze.

Gallant with single torps could be perfect to rush people for this.

That is not easy, you have to be super lucky. I got 30k so far by rushing people, but it is very frustrating, because if you get a flooding, they are often already low.

Just wait, till you get hit by DW in your cruisers. The difference in reaction possibilities will be bigger than for a BB. -

I would like to see a video of a BB reacting to a 90 degree torp salvo in 7.5 sec. Add the time you need to realize the situation in reality then. If they come from the side and are not spotted, they will hit just like DW. (If you don't use the silly widespread) But I guess we will have to wait for the stats. -

That is why you need to stack them at range. So they don't leave wide gaps. DW will only help with bad/wide sidedrops. -

I hear that Atago might still be the best premium (after Missouri) and its 30% off. But Takao is the same, just doesn't make credits I believe? -
I would only be interested in the Atago -30% doubloons. But I don't see the point when eliteXP and permacamo for the Zao are available.

Armada pack for doubloons is way too expensive. Multiple 55x Halloween container packages made more doubloons, plus additional freeXP, speedflags, etc. And you didn't have to invest 400 Euros for that.

While I like LWM, she focused a bit much on the spotting aspect, regarding Kidd. To me Kidd is about cap control first and fire+flood second. Scouting is something a DD should do on-the-fly, in Random gameplay.
