Gearing has way more gunpower than Z-52 (214k vs 135k HE DPM). German strengths in AP broadsides and shell speed are less important, if both know what they are doing. Also Gearings long range torpedoes really help to stay away from radar cruisers, where Z-52 is struggling.

The problem is that Z-23 and even Z-46 hydro is just too bad in comparison. Also the only tradeoff, compared to Benson, is a 20% gunpower and a bit torpedo damage. Comparing similar ships is easier than judging actual performance, so people focus on that.

No, because this premium is actually just worse than the techtree ship. To me Kidd and Harekaze are balanced and still very unique premium ships. Which is what I want.

Oh wow, I thought they would give it DW torps to "justify" the DPM difference. (The little extra range is not worth it at least.) But it is just a worse Kagero.

Sometimes they move stuff around. Kiev was initially supposed to go from T7 to T9, but they changed their mind. So until the final announcement, there is no way to know anything for sure. -

That is true. I really like the Kidd. In fact I had no issues against Loyangs. But the lack of torpedoes was simply not threatening enough against enemy pushes. I didn't want to be weight on my teams chest, so I just played my Loyang. And well, the utility of the hydro really won me a couple of games.

To me Loyang is very strong in Ranked, and the hydro buff was a bit too much. But it is still hard work and in no way a guaranteed win. You can't just sit in the cap with hydro+smoke like a moron below R5. I have seen many games lost by Loyangs against other DDs.

Difficult, if it is more than one set and stacked properly. They can definitely flush you out with 2 DDs. But the main problem is not only Radar. Cruisers have hydro too, and if you are alone, they can just approach your smoke to flush you out.

Indeed. But in this situation, you should have ran from the cap immediately, when you realized they were pushing there. As I said, you can just scout and torpedo them. Your team was at the other cap, no need to suicide.

Your job as a DD was not to attack those guys or "bait his hydro". Since the enemy was pushing that cap, your job was just to scout those guys and throw some torpedoes in their way. Loyang is spotted before he can hydro you. Chappa only has 20 sec radar. If you play it safe, you do not die like that. Is Loyang hydro too strong? Probably. But this was just you playing it reckless.

It is indeed the Chappa radar, which lasts only 20 sec. You obviously ate a ton of damage before, when you engaged the Loyang in the cap. Your team was at the other cap, so you had no support. Still you did not play it safe, but engaged the enemy DD and got wasted by his support. You had it coming, sorry.

I have only played the Grozovoi as a rental ship, but to me it was just not worth it over the Gearing. The Khaba is one of the most special ships in the game. Every match is a crazy rollercoaster ride. As long as you don't have to spot enemy DDs yourself, you are simply Troll-Superman and enjoy complete freedom. -
I am seeing more and more CVs. USN rework seems to have good reception. But many people are still too annoyed by the laggy interface. A smooth handling is mandatory for a good experience in any game.

In Tanks there are many people, who are afraid to get a scratch on their TX, because of the repair cost. We do not need more DDs avoiding the caps, and hiding behind their torpedoes all game. We do not need more BBs hiding at 20km.

I guess he meant, that if 1 of 2 bad players goes for the cap and the other one hides, the hiding one will be rewarded because he survives. The truth is however, that the bad player at the cap is just the only one getting punished by the Radar. But that doesn't make the hiding guy suddenly win. Yes, radar can keep bad players from going for the cap, because they don't know how to deal with it. Still not rewarding that though. From an XP standpoint maybe, but bad play will always suck at that.

My point was just that Radar is not rewarding bad play. Instead Radar is rewarding good and aware play, while it punishes bad play. And just hiding all game will never be a winning strategy, so it will never be rewarding in my opinion. (Even if it would shift the balance a little, you would not end up winning.)

There are some good Radar Mino videos around. It is a troll build for the more advanced player... Also Yuro will compliment you immediately ingame...

Only Minotaur and Chapayev can really outradar their detection. But the rare Radar-Minotaur has slow shells and can be deleted by your team if he stays in the open. Chapayevs have never been a problem, even in Ranked. Just kite and brake after 15 sec.
