I know it is common to oversimplify by-case decisions and apply them as a rule of thumb. But you shouldn't fall for that mate. The individual case if mostly more complex than you think. Anyway, I guess you don't have a source then. Just the usual chatter...

You think Kutuzov was not nerfed heavily in the process of changing smoke mechanics? Yes it was, and they offered the refund together with Belfast. You have yet to give a reason why they wouldn't just do that again. There has never been a high tier premium arty. You also can't compare a whole class rework to the balancing changes that we had with TDs in WoT for example. What court fiasco? Source please.

A fundamental class rework would just be the same as a "mechanic" rework. All ships in the class will be changed. Call it a "blanked nerf" if you want. Why do you think there is a difference? WG definitely doesn't mind Premiums being nerfed if it is necessary for their concept of the game.

If the "CV-Rework" will actually come and change things drastically, these Premiums will change as well. People will just be able to get a refund, just like it happened with Belfast and Kutuzov.

The AP bombs don't do more damage overall than torpedoes+HE, so they are not the problem. It is the auto-drop that is too effective. The difference between manual and auto drop circle should have been bigger. But many people have been saying they want less skill gap with CVs. Here you go. This is what you wanted. Left-click FTW.

I just had one of these insane games in GZ, while I was actually talking on the phone (no joke). But that was only possible because the enemy CV and the enemy cruisers completely ignored me. And that is basically like ignoring a flanking Shimakaze... Shima will do just the same when ignored.

But because of that, GZ has more wave-damage, which is an advantage when strafing. 2x6 should also make you more flexible in a dogfight, since your wave damage doesn't suffer as much from each plane loss. I am not an expert in CVs, but the numbers suggest that GZ 2-0-3 is pretty competitive fighter-wise, against Shokaku.

Elazer you should get your facts straight. Shokaku has exactly the same number of fighter planes. Only that GZ will have 2x6 instead of 2x5. The health difference isn't that big, especially considering GZs Dogfighting Expert Bonus.

Shimakaze could do the same in a lucky game. Does that mean Shima is OP as well? No, because just like GZ it has heightened strengths and also heightened weaknesses. In WoWS there have always been ships with overall balanced strengths and those that have stronger strengths but also weaker weaknesses.

20km torps + reload booster means you can launch them from the start at unusual positions. Could be interesting even without Deepwater. If they don't bring the ship this way, I hope they just give it normal torps instead.

GZ 1-2-1 doesn't have a single(!) fighter wave in reserve. You simply got outplayed massively in your Enterprise, as you actually had a huge advantage with your reserves. Next time just click on his fighter wave to bleed him out, if you can't do it with strafing.

Since most AA on DM is coming from medium sized 76mm guns, 2 salvos of that stupid RN BB HE should take it away.

Bring out the pitchforks and make it a monster that can wreck a Des Moines! The ship feels just as weak as the other T8 CVs in a TX game, but hey, let's keep up the rant. So what happens to a Bismarck that doesn't stick to his friendly AA when a Shokaku sees him? 2x fires followed by a perma-flooding. All CVs are just murdering silly lone-wolf BBs.

The 1-2-1 yes. But the 2-0-3 setup too? It is on par fighterwise with Enterprise and Shokaku, according to Fara. Enterprise can bleed it out though, just like any other CV, I guess...

I don't think I have many Random games on either one do I? So not a good argument. Since I always play DD in CW/Ranked, I rather play other stuff in Randoms. Edit: pffff yeah, 15 and 25 solo games. Stop being a stat noob. You think those 80% solo WR in Yueyang are normal? -

That is why I run Radar-Yueyang with DPM build for fun. But Gearing Def-AA is extremely useful, and I don't actually need the radar. -

Is it strong? Definitely. OP? No. Many people here don't seem to realize, that with more and more CVs around, Gearing is overall the more versatile and stronger ship. Yueyang just feels OP, whenever you get to farm some noob DD, who doesn't know how to deal with radar. -

Other than in CW, that 28sec radar is only a real problem in Randoms, if you get too close to the enemy fire support. The focus fire is just not nearly as dangerous. And as long as you don't know the Yueyang position, just don't be too aggressive, simple as that. -

In the Training room maybe. But with support around, there are more important things than getting the first salvo. Not being a torpedo threat to enemy DDs is definitely a disadvantage at the cap. That doesn't work with random teams. And you are giving up the ability to smoke. The radar is fun in Randoms, but definitely not OP.
