  1. Henry HE can already penetrate 40mm armor. IFHE means spending 4P and hurting your firechance, just to be able to penetrate some 50mm decks... Sounds overpriced to me...
  2. "Surveillance radar with test stats is somewhat reminiscent of Z-52’s Hydroacoustic Search. In both cases the consumable is combined with a smoke screen. Hydro detects torpedoes as well as ships, is active for much longer, but has a shorter detection distance than Grozovoi’s Radar – 5.88 km against 7.5 km. Z-52 creates a lasting threat inside control areas and she spots torpedoes while hiding in smoke screens. Grozovoi would pose an even bigger thread with her radar, however a short-lived one, and disposing of her in the smoke screens is tangibly easier." That is basically what I have said.
  3. I will bring what I choose. And Z-52 is still an option for me, even though I was one of the first Yueyangs in the 1st Season for good reason. Of course I started grinding the Grozo again though, since I want to have all viable CW DDs at my disposal. IF Grozo would get smoke+radar, it would definitely be one of the strongest picks, only held back by its maneuverability and torpedoes.
  4. It depends heavily on the situation of course. There is no simple answer, but I will try it for you. Lets say that you are in a Gearing: #1 Pick a cap where you have advantageous or at least equal fire support, that is close to the cap. #2 If the situation is looking good to cap it, you can bait a radar first, by slightly passing through the cap, while torping at your RPF. #3 If you were not radared or the radar is out, and the situation looks good, you can get into the cap, but stay at the outer edge facing outwards. #4 If he radars you then, you just kite it out, into your fire support that will have your back. #5 When is radar is out, you can try to spot him and use your superior DPM at close range, like with any other DD. Does this depend heavily on team support? Yes. Does it mean that you cannot do it in Randoms? No. Simply play your team and don't go to a cap alone, because you think you make the rules as a DD. Good kiting is very effective, even in Typhoon/Hurricane CW. The most important thing is to just stay far enough from the majority of the enemy fire support, and stick closer to your own buddies. @dCK_Ad_Hominem you may talk directly to me. If you don't push too close to the Grozos fire support, it is not as deadly as you make it out to be. But again: I don't like radar+smoke in the game. I am just not buying into the whole doom prophecy once more.
  5. "No escape" - seriously, it is not that bad to properly kite away from a Grozo at 7km. Stop making such a big deal out of it. That was not the point. You were making Radar Grozo out to be some kind of unbeatable cap-dominator, which is not true. Again, have you ever tried to kite a Grozo at 7 km ? That is not very dangerous if you can kite.
  6. If it really keeps the smoke, that radar will probably be nerfed to 15 sec. (Like the initially proposed PA radar+smoke) But my guess is, that the smoke will have to go for the radar after all, for the same reason why they did it on the PA.
  7. So what is the big difference to facing a Z-52 in your example? Is that gamebraking too? Z-52 hydro only has 5.9km range, but it lasts 2:30 min and it can spot torpedoes. Grozovoi radar would have 7.5km range, but only last 28sec and could not spot torpedoes. Yes Grozo could shoot you longer if he would pop it close up, but he also would have to leave the smoke bacause of possible torps and would be out of radar after 28 sec. Z-52 is way better at denying the cap completely. "If you get spotted, you can smoke up. But you still won't get the cap if the Grozovoi contests it and nothing else spots the Grozovoi to force it out." You would only smoke up if he shoots and is spotted by your teammates. And again, Z-52 is even worse to play against in that situation...
  8. That Radar is only 28 sec. Also it is a common mistake to think that you can never give up the cap for a few minutes. It is actually quite important to sometimes give them the cap for a short time to stay alive, even in CW.
  9. Well, yeah. Smoke+Radar is actually not a combination that supports fun gameplay and I don't want to see it in the game at all. I just don't see it as such a big deal, that's all. But maybe I am a little too okay with adding more unnecessary challenges to the game.
  10. You know who has 7.5 km 20sec Radar + smoke already? Black. And if you are not an idiot and just turn around and kite, Black is not a big problem. Yes, Grozo has better ballistics, but seriously - if you don't push into it and kite properly, it is not as big of a deal as you make of it. Just like with the Asashio, it will not break anything.
  11. How do you deal with Z-52 hydro+smoke? You turn around and just leave. You come back when it is out. How do you deal with Grozovoi IF he gets smoke+radar after all? You torpedo his smoke (he can't spot torps), and again you turn around and kite, if you have no radar cruiser support. You come back after 28 sec. Grozo will not get smoke+radar on live, that is just a test where they overbuff it. Also again, he cannot spot torps, so he cannot just sit there like a Z-52, if you were close when he popped his radar... "forced into a passive, reactionary role" - not overcommiting doesn't mean that you have to be a pussy.
  12. Then you will die to firesupport anyway.
  13. Would be the same threat as a radar Yueyang. (Don't think it will keep radar+smoke, but even then your play is the same, as his support is the real threat anyway, at the start.) If Yueyang could be at your cap, you simply don't push too aggressive like a retard, which you should NEVER do in a DD. Instead you stay relatively close to your support and stay ready to run if needed, which you should ALWAYS do at the start when in a DD.
  14. You need 34mm armor to shatter 203mm HE. Only Khaba can do that as a "DD". People just need to learn how to predict radars and play accordingly. In most cases you will know if there is the possibility of you being radared, and you can play it safe or even bait that radar at first.

Cleveland the new Free XP farmer

It makes more freeXP than normal premium camos. But as I said: If you want to stack lots of freeXP signals, you want more ShipXP, where the Anshan only has +50%.

    aa-builds are completly useless

Unless of course, you are russian comrade Khaba. Then you are able to gun down BBs by yourself, evade any crossdrops without AA, and bend time and space around you on the fly.

Cleveland the new Free XP farmer

Save all your freeXP AND XP stuff. Then put them together. The more XP, the more freeXP.

    Kronshtadt has arrived!

The fact that everyone is comparing Kronshtadt to the TX Cruisers is telling though. And with worse penetration than Des Moines, Hindy will probably not get any citadels on BBs, while Kronshtadt can do that easily.

Cleveland the new Free XP farmer

Guys, you need to go on "Credits and XP", hover over the FreeXP and make a screenshot then. Otherwise it is useless, because no1 can see what you did there.

Cleveland the new Free XP farmer

Btw, if you are not stacking with a limited amount of Bonus ShipXP missions, like I did in my example, it is better to split Ouboros and Spring Sky camos, and stack the Ouboros with Mosaic camos.

Here is what you can do with a mediocre game, but well stacking:

Cleveland the new Free XP farmer

Nope, they don't multiply with FreeXP, they multiply with ShipXP. So putting them on Anshan is really stupid, since it only has +50% shipXP. Best is Spring Sky or Mosaic camo.

    Musashi or Kronshtad???

That you are matched against an Iowa/Missouri/Lion etc. doesn't change anything: you are still playing a bad Yamato clone. Being matched against a "normal" T9 BB might improve your WR a little, but it doesn't improve your experience at all.

    Indianapolis Marathon (01.06. - 16.07.)

Akizuki, Khaba, Minotaur and similar ships make it kind of quick.

    Freedom Containers

They want those people, who are willing to buy these in the first place, to spend more money after getting the "wrong ship". You can argue that more people would buy otherwise, but it is probably why they did it.
