Full IJN BB and BC tree (Done)

Yeah I understand this balance decision. Longer barrel would usually give higher muzzle velocity indeed, and thus I understand your reasoning, but I'm not sure if the older L/50 gun would perform much better than Yama's newer guns. The older 46/L50 was designed to use 100kg lighter shells than Yama's newer 46/L45. Thus it would be interesting, albeit pretty hard to answer anymore, whether the older gun could have been upgraded with heavier shells and new/more propellant to try to squeeze better performance out of that longer barrel (when compared to Yama's L45, assuming the L50 is worse without upgrades). Hmm, interesting. English Wiki says 457/L45, citing Breyer, while Japanese Wiki says 460/L45 and Navweaps says 460/L50. Barrel lenght can be confirmed to be L50, via this picture on NW: And if you squeeze your eyes it really looks like the caliber is 460. Well, this was interesting little learning session, as I had always thought the Number 13 class was to be armed with 457's, but apparently it was to be 460 instead. Now I'm just interested to know (if even possible), which gun would have better performance as built, N13's 46/L50 or Yama's 46/L45. Atm I would say the L45 thanks to newer, more heavier shells. But then, if you want to add little extra raw pen for that Mikawa, you could use the older L50's, modernised with newer, heavier shells. Thus it should have more raw pen than Yamato ingame, but the overmatch bonus would stay the same (as it's tied to caliber), and as such I don't think it would be "too much power". Overall Yamato has already lost its short to medium range "penetration champion" to Republique. Either way, 46/L45's are more than adequate for the job ^^ Anyways, it was nice to read this BB + BC tree proposal and I hope it bears fruit someday. Only major proposal with which I disagree is the lowering of Yama's citadel. It's balanced as it is now and it adds some challenge to play her. Additionally you can reliably punish bad Yamato players. In my opinion the BBs of other nations need some tweaking to their citadels instead (mainly Conq and Monty, can't comment on Republique yet). Yama has never been a brawler, and should not even be turned into one. I have to disagree with this statement that you'd need to (be forced to) bowtank all the day. Yama can roam given adequate distance to enemy (like 14-15km), you just need some experience to do it. I.e. maintain the correct distance and time your turns accordingly to the flow of battle. Thanks to her thicc, angled belt you can make a broadside turn, even in front of BBs as long as you turn outwards (thus the belt angle increases as the ship lists) and stay within certain minimum distance from the enemy. So Yama isn't a brawler indeed, but she can roam just fine. Thus bowtanking definitely isn't the only way to play her.

No offence, but somehow I was awaiting for this response I mostly prefer originals too, but I like some (english) covers equally as well, like the english cover of aLIEz by AmaLee. Well, lets continue with music then.

So you upgraded this Mikawa to use 460mm guns instead of 457mm, or is the 460 as caliber a typo? (As Number 13 class was planned with 457'ers.) If the 460mm is intended as caliber I can understand it, as those 3 extra mm bring the overpen capability for 32mm plates.

Dunno tbh, just asked out of curiosity. I have Vegas Pro 14 only as I got it very cheap from Humble Bundle a few months ago. Haven't used it at all though :P

Poll: Map Proposal "Dynamic Iceberg Map"

Interesting idea and would be fun to at least test it. Just use Ocean as basis, add some ice physics there. If iceberg collisions would cause flooding, we could play "who dares like Titanic?" aka drive as fast and close as possible through the ice masses :P An idea for a new scenario/operation using the new Ocean map with icebergs; Save the Titanic! You need to blow up all the icebergs before Titanic yoloes into them and sinks

    Yamato worst tier 10 B.B.

The Queen is a demanding ship who has tremendous power, but also clear weaknesses. Just update the 3D model (into higher quality like Musashi) and while doing that add the few missing AA guns + return the Chrysanthemum emblem you took away from her funnel.

    The ultimate clutch kill
  10. While the whole team was A-grade, I couldn't be without noticing as our Bayern's first action was to take firmly a bearing towards our CV. Apparently he had an important mission to do, to protect the CV! Though the post mortem comment of this Bayern was the cherry on top. Must be hax that he was outplayed and outnumbered. Must be.

As I have sh*tloads of screenshots since the day 1 of CBT, sometimes it's fun to notice that you have met people you know now, but didn't know back then. What were your Greatest Gaming Achievements Retro edition: When Yama AA build was still viable Oh I'm starting to feel depressing nostalgia while going through the pictures, each of them being a memory fragment from the past. I guess it's a part of my journey to find again what I once lost.

Ofc, during last minutes some heroic BB had to yolorush, thus flipping the points for enemy. Then we barely managed to kill their BB, flipping points back for our favour. At that point I was already boiling on overpressure making it clear in chat to survive, just to notice the timer; Only 10s left, they couldn't throw it anymore. Phew Why is it so hard to think about the pointloss and consequences yolorush causes? Well, at least this hero in our story understood himself that his action wasn't wise, kudos for that.
  13. Got Texas credits, flag and mission for Texas perma camo. Apparently missed Kappa + earlier loots by 2 days, blah. Tbh I dislike Kappa so don't really care.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Not even angry, just sad. Some story time: Start with supporting DDs at C succeeding in it. Then finally end up going solo flanking south side. Rekt a Neptune. Proceed forwards, understanding that CV isn't at south anymore while following his planes. Near A I took the role of bait and managed to turn their Yama's attention to me with Monty joining the kite as well, lessening the pressure on my team. That BB div wasn't bad though, they understood it was pointless to hunt a kiting Senjo, thus Monty turned away, barely surviving. Yama was healing behind an island, accepting his fate. I close the distance to island, he misses his front turrets completely, and I go for successful torpedo run. In process though he manages to hit me down to 3000hp, making it so that one torpedo from Taiho is enough to end my life. I had used my DefAA against a single squad during that torpdeo skirmish as I thought that I could as well just take down some planes before I die. Well, kinda mistake I think as now the CV came back with two squads, end of my story. After my death our sole ship left, CV (who played well), kills the Montana. Enemy had two caps and their Bismarck was blocking our last one, thus during the very last seconds we lost by points. Such a bittersweet loss Makes it sadder as I first didn't notice we still had points lead, then noticed it and took a look at timer; 10s left; We might even win after all! But no. Only misery and pain can one achieve ^^

    Losing distinct emblems?

Again, as I read it: At least those exp based emblems won't go away by any logic when you think it, thus why would they take away the damage based ones either. They are basically missions: once completed you get the emblems and that's it.

    Losing distinct emblems?

Afaik they are permanent. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/updates/dasha-in-training-070/#insig As I read it, once you achieve an emblem, you won't lose it. E: ninja'd

Monty is a nice ship. Sounds like a broken record? This SS just captured that oomph! effect so nicely.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Sometimes three brave guys just aren't enough. One story from game above; Enemy DD goes around the map like a pro, meets our BB. What does our BB do? Nooo, instead of turning around he goes straight into the DD and *surprise* sinks. GJ.

    Is there a Forumite clan?

Well yeah, there are forumites, then there were the "more enthusiastic ones" aka those who hanged around also on Forumites channel. From the people on that channel we SCRUBs took a big chunk. Kinda off topic I think, but the Scrubs Community Channel is the spiritual successor of the Forumites channel, a place where people can come (even without clan) and ask for divs. Hmm, if you think it more, you can't really give that "Forumites clan" title easily to any clan, but personally I like to call SCRUB as such, thanks to the history of that clan.
