    "Born in the Purple"

You'd jump between the target and the shooter on a shooting range too then?

    "Born in the Purple"

I've always hated that mod in WoT. People relied in it completely: they left games if the stats "weren't right", targetted the wrong enemies because they should be "prioritzed based on stats", and neglected to support teammates "because of stats". Seriously, that mod should have been banned a long time ago. I was duelling with that enemy ship for a good five minutes, and we were at point blank range, circling eachother,.. then that guy literally charged right in between. I sunk both his ship and the enemy's in a single volley. Are you the kind of person standing at a crossover disinterested, suddenly jumping in front of a car as it tries to pull off?

I'm not saying I disagree, just that the penalty is too harsh for accidents, that everyone agrees might happen. I am still/again learning the game, one accident happens,.. and I'm purple.

    "Born in the Purple"

So I haven't played WoWS for a long time, and just got back to it last week. I am doing quite well in my first match of the day engaging an enemy similar tier cruiser, with my full torpedo volley heading straight at him. Suddenly le wilde teammate's destroyer appears and sails through my torpedo line of fire,.. BAM! my name turns purple as he takes 3 out of 6 torpedo's launched, and sinks. Next game I am struggling with steering my ship. Like I said, I haven't played in a long time, and I am having some trouble with the innertia. I scrape hulls with a teammate, we take like three damage,.. BAM! warning issued. I mean,.. come on. That's not what the penalty system is for is it? I've played WoT for years and saw teammates leisurely duking it out at eachother on purpose, untill half the team's top tiers were gone, and nothing ever happened. Then in this game you get instantly purpled if you accidentally sink an overeager teammate, and a warning for sucky driving?

    Inconsistent Performance

I do know this, hence I specifically stated that "Temperature, matchmaking, ingame effects count, background processes, tiers, reflections, machine operating time" have been taken into consideration. We are talking same ships here, and same poly count. Also, I do not get horrendous performance "once in a match". I played quite a few matches on thursday or so, without ANY problems in ANY match, while yesterday I could not play ANY match without SOME (actually quite a few) problems.

    Map Border abusing.

This could be fixed easily by implementing a double border with a buffer zone for aircraft.

    Inconsistent Performance

First of at all lets make one thing clear. I'm playing this game on two absolute lousy machines. Two, because my brother and I both have our own account, and always play WoT or WoWS in a platoon or a division. One machine is an older non-gaming laptop, which runs WoT, WoWP and WoWS just fine (on low settings). The other is a genuinely antiquated desktop with the following specs: CPU: Intel Pentium D 820 (allready upgraded on an 10y old basic Dell mobo) MEMORY: 4GB DDR2 RAM (originally only 2GB) GPU: 512MB Saphire Radeon 4650HD (upgraded TWICE from what was originally a passively cooled ATI Radeon X300 or so) Naturally, with specs like these I've long accepted that it won't run most new releases, not even Freemium games (that are generally build to run on older machines). However, this machine as well runs WoT (and WoWP) just fine with the SD client and performance has actually increased with recent patches. In fact, it also runs WoWS just fine on some days, reaching 55 FPS consitently with ease. On other days though it won't go past 8 FPS and even grinds to a halt. This I find very strange. A machine should either be able to run a game or not. It's impossible for a machine that pulls 55 FPS at one point, only reaches 8 FPS on another under the exact same conditions, or rather, a machine that can pull no more than 8 FPS will never be able to suddenly reach 55 FPS. Temperature, matchmaking, ingame effects count, background processes, tiers, reflections, machine operating time; these have all be taken into consideration. It makes no difference, and it makes no sense to have such a varying performance when the same machine runs WarGamings "sibling games" (WoT and WoWP) just fine. Therefore I must conclude that it's an optimisation issue with the beta software.

    Hull Upgrades & Bridges

Motte-and-baileys had an outer ring (or two) of fortification, but those generally were fortifications only. With square castles the outer fortifications are thicker, hollow to accomodate housing, armories etc., and an integral part of the main structure, usually joined with the keep (if there is one) as well. This innovation stems from fortified monasteries/abbeys and the transition to non-religious military use took place after the crusades, which had blurred the lines between the secular and the religious.

This is a classic donjon in France. They're one of the earliest types of medieval fortifications. The typical square castle we think of when a "castle" is mentioned, didn't appear untill later. In fact they only appeared after the crusades, and were derived from the fortified abbeys used by militant religious orders. The abbey/monastery model became favoured because they could serve as a garison for an entire unit. A lot of old donjons still in use, had extensions added resulting in them serving as the keep of a more modern square castle. However, originally classic donjons would be pretty much free standing, such as the one in the image.

Yay! In that case I will not steer from my goal, go straight to my donjon, and from it, proceed to pour boiling oil over my foe's mariners.

So, with open Beta, I'm finally to join in this game. Having played WoT extensively, and having tried WoWP (good game, just didn't grip me as WoT did), I'm very excited. I intended to go for Japanese battleships first, for the sole reason that aesthetically I'd like to have a huge disproportionate friggin donjon on my ship (from Tier VI onwards). However, when I look at the ship models using the research tab, all the bridge towers are skelentonised, and well,.. look rather underwhelming, compared to the art. Were my expectations too high (and was my knowledge of historical ship design too little), or do I get my donjon on e.g. the Kongo, Fuso, and Nagato with their respective upgraded hulls?
