I've been playing the RN line, reading through this thread, trying to figure out things, like: How do these cruisers fit in the 'random' nature of each battle? I have jut won a round in the Belfast, which I think is pretty darn good, that is until I go popped in the last minute of the game, bow facing a Fuso. Now, I honestly, was expecting to instantly die. I did. But still, I took 19k+ damage with not one overpen or ricochet, this all when facing directly at his guns in the vain hope I wouldn't be seeing my fragile glass cannon sink.
Also, here's a a tiny piece of info I thought might be interesting. Of the 160 AP shells that hit my targets, I did 46,469. So for each shell that hit I did just over 272HP of damage per round.
Any way, I want to play as the RN, I want to enjoy the experience. I want someone from WG to skew the ship balance the same way the did for Russian HE cruisers and destroyers. The Light Cruisers as they are do not have a role to fill in the current state of play. Essentially this post echoes what numerous other people have posted before me. If it's about crew skill which differentiated how the ships were used in reality, they need to buff crew related functions, spotting and accuracy being feasible in my opinion. Additional repair by default and more HP per repair cycle and quicker damage control functions, time to extinguish fires, repair modules etc. Make these functions overpowered in order to bring them in-line with how dreadfully under armoured they are.
Hopefully not falling on deaf ears, I'll go back to playing IJN in anticipation for the DD re-tree.
