Does RNG determine your Gun Dispersion

When it comes to artillery, each gun has its own dispersion. I think it helps to understand when you describe what actually is happening when a shell is fired. You have ... 1) A long metal barrel 2) 200kg (~450lb) explosives as propelling charge 3) 800kg (~1775lb) bullet 4) With a huge controlled explosion, the propelling charge forces the bullet to fly out of the barrel. The flight path of the bullet is now affected by at least 2 important effects: a) Gun vibration: The controlled explosion causes each metal barrel to vibrate. Each controlled explosion causes a unique vibration. Keep in mind that this is an extreme physical situation. The lifespan of BB Bismarcks barrels was around 250 shots only. When the bullets pass the muzzle, the different vibrations of the gun barrels influence the flight path of the bullet. b) Propelling charge: In case of the Bismarck, 200kg (~450lb) of explosives were used as propelling charge. The slightest variation in quality of the propelling charge could alter a bullets flight path. (production quality / storage -> wet) You always have to keep in mind that naval guns of WW2 were new weapon systems. They did not make use of advanced technology and materials such as todays artillery systems.

    Haha. Good one!

    THE Sonar

Hydroacoustic Search is just a waste of credits. If it helped detecting DDs in general and/or in smokescreen, it would be interesting. AntiAir is just superior.

JANE's is an English database. It makes use of the Imperial (UK) and US customary measurement systems. In fact, British and US ships should make use of this system, too. Probably with clamped metric information. For German ships or nations with the metric system, simply vice versa.

BB's need a huge buff against cruisers.

BBs do not need a huge buff against cruisers. In fact the balance between those classes seems pretty decent to me. When sailing a BB, you should never ever allow a Cruiser to get that close. Especially not when the Cruiser has torpedo armament on board. Keep in mind to use AP versus BBs and CAs. Only switch to HE to fend off DDs. Omahas and Phoenixes can be a pain. Their high speed makes it difficult to hit their citadel. At roundabout 10km you should aim quite a lot in front of the Cruiser. Usually more than +10 (something like +12/+14). Hold the guide to the waterline et voilá. You just gave him a citadel. Certain BBs allow for brawling. Best is to check your secondary armament. A Nagato for example can easily sink Cruisers with secondaries. Also, please keep in mind that some veteran players love to troll new players. It usually takes some time until you master a boat, no matter if BB, CA, DD or CV. Enjoy the game and good luck!

Main "playstyle" of the IJN BB's?

Hi MightyDraracle, i think the only thing worth mentioning is that IJN BBs are sort of snipe and kite boats. Between T4 and T7 they are a bit faster and more agile than US BBs. In addition they often outrange US BBs. From T8 to T10 US BBs catch up and both nations play more or less similar (exception Izumo with triple front turrets). Myogi & Kongo: All upgrades unlocked, both ships have superb range and are extraordinary fast (29 / 30 knots). When I played these ships, Myogi seemed to have a higher dispersion than Kongo. Kongo is where the sniping fun actually begins. Fuso: In my opinion Fuso is the most fun T6 BB currently available. The ship is quite maneuverable which makes dodging incoming torpedos quite easy. All upgrades unlocked and upgrade modules fitted, the 6 main artillery turrets can deliver a tremendous amount of damage. With good aiming and a bit of luck you are able to "one shot" Cruisers of T6 and lower. Nagato: Nagato is an "OK"ish BB. After Fuso, this ship kinda feels like a downgrade due to the lower amount of turrets. However, she is quite sturdy and has good secondary guns making her a good brawler. Amagi: With 30.4 knots a very fast BB. And finally again ... 5 main artillery turrets. Plays like Fuso but is even more fun. Izumo / Yamato: No experience, yet. Best, Iarnsaxa
