The problem with DDs is that they only get better in HP. Farragut compared to Nicholas has less torps, longer reload, worse detection, but hey the ship costs more and has a bit more HP so it is one tier higher! This is how all destroyers progress after tier five. You progress the lines just so you can get longer reload times, a bigger, more easily hittable hull, higher repair costs, and enemies with stronger and stronger salvos. There needs to be something that prevents carriers from just floating a fighter over every enemy DD and disabling them for the entire game with no effort in this way, but even if that something were added tomorrow, it won't fix destroyers because the class is currently broken in many way more important ways past tier five.
That you would make this statement shows that you know absolutely nothing about CVs. It is precisely the low tier CVs that are overpowered. The problem is with Hosho, who will never face any meaningful AA that is not from a langley or yubari, as well as Zuiho and Ryujo who have ludicrous damage outputs for the tiers they play in. To me as a primarily DD and CV player, your statement that low tier CVs are crap is hilarious in this context, since you are the OP of a thread about them. Your understanding of CVs is the complete opposite of reality.
