    Nagato. Doesn't get much more accurate than that from a BB before tier 9. Same sigma value as the Warpite, but with the better base dispersion of IJN BB guns.

    CVs are not weak. There are other reasons why they are not popular: playstyle, nation balance, bad UI, reserves, unreliable rewards etc.

    So you want USN carriers to be IJN carriers? You do realize that the higher tier USN CVs will get AP bombs so that having two DB squads will be more useful.

    No one is saying that because people are fine with what Stalin did, then we should be fine with what Hitler did. Quite the opposite. The point is that banning iconography and things of that nature out of context is bad. Objectively bad. There are laws against what these symbols stood for, so there is no need whatsoever to ban the symbols themselves. Banning "things", as in items, which cause no harm by themselves only serves to lessen the opportunity for discussion and reflection regarding our history and learning from out mistakes. You don't need to legislate again something like erecting a Hitler statue in the main square of a German city, it's redundant.

    No question. I'm only against a skill which rewards you for doing the opposite of what you're supposed to do. If you are a cap pushing DD like the KM and USN you might end up taking damage as a side effect of doing your job. But with a torpedo boat whose purpose is to be hidden, you will have no use for AR if you play well. I'll pick up AR if I have points over, but I'll take 10% gun or torpedo RoF boost all the time over a 0-19% boost to both some of the time.

    Of course. My point is that you don't want to be on low health with a DD. Ideally not take any damage.
  8. I've made successful drops with Enterprise tier 7 planes against Montanas. Sure I didn't get many planes back, but they made a good strike. Midway doesn't have Enterprise's reserve issue, so loosing some planes every attack shouldn't be a problem. Giving the Midway tier 8 planes is so that it can have a balanced load-out with the new AP bombs and 6 squads.

    I'm actually interested to see how the 9-10 plane squads will play. It will at the very least fix the issue of losing a single plane and have your entire squad be useless. Now you can stay active for longer and when you nail a strafe it will really hurt. Sure you'll lose some map presence, but you had to be so passive with the fighters before that it's not much to lose. Combined with the fast landing and take-off it might actually work. Not saying it's the optimal setup, but I think it's the closest we've gotten yet to something decent.

    Graf Spee is a really fun ship with lots of utility. It's also as you mentioned interesting from a historical perspective. Still it's not the most powerful ship and probably shouldn't be your first choice if you want to maximize income. Duca d'Aosta is also a fun ship to speed around in and pew pew. Blyskawica is not that interesting in my opinion, just a very fast and well-armed DD. Torps are a bit meh and it's not that stealthy. Still it does its job and makes a good credit grinder.

    If there is any actual effective DPM difference it's very situational, like when you can actually penetrate DDs with the 100mm AP shells. I prefer the 127mm USN guns since they are very reliable under 10km and they are also much better at savaging modules and guns.
  13. Ran into @hgbn_dk this morning while we were both trying out our brand new Kidd-class DD-tear harvesters. Unfortunately for him his team decided that pushing two caps was overrated and my team could take and hold B and C the entire battle.

    This DD is great. Awesome continuation from the Sims which I love. Bad torps but a great cap contester and DD-shredder. I didn't even do my homework before this purchase, so when I saw it had heal it just made the whole package so much sweeter. It's like an Akizuki but with actual DD maneuverability, heal, DFAA and USN smoke.

    The US CV rebalance was planned since far back. It was one of the only parts they actually had nailed down well enough to announce early. No reason not to go through with it even if they end up going over everything again eventually. It's going to take a long time to get a full rework. Too long to just leave everything as is in the meantime.

  21. The more I look at her stats the more I'm getting hyped. I've loved the Giulio Cesare so far, and the Roma looks to excel in all the same places. Plus she has actual belt armor. Not sure what her base dispersion will be, but 1.9 sigma is pretty good. Let's assume she has USN dispersion like the GC. So what's the hype about? AP shells have a whopping 850m/s muzzle velocity, that's 30m/s better than the German 380s which are already bloody fast. HE shells have an insane 880m/s muzzle velocity... Not something to use against cruisers or BBs due to awful fire chance, but amazing against DDs. The turrets rotate 1°/s faster than the German 380s (Tirpitz and Bismarck) which already rotate very fast for a BB. With CE, upgrade and camo, she is down to 11.2km detection range... She's rocking 375+40mm of side belt armor, 70mm upper side hull armor and 45mm deck armor. What about the rest? The AA is mediocre. About Tirpitz-level. Secondaries are nothing special. Standard 5km range, too much AP shells and too small HE shells (90mm) to be effective. Agility is middle of the road. Slightly worse than the RN and USN, slightly better than the KM and IJN. Her main gun range is 18.1km. Almost identical to the Monarch. Not good, but with such good concealment not the end of the world.

    But worse raw penetrating power. A short fuse delay can be both a blessing and a curse. When you hit ships bow on you will often end up losing out on citadel penetrations due to shells exploding prematurely. And a shorter fuse delay also doesn't help if the shell doesn't fuse in the first place, which is by far the most common reason for overpenetrations. I will say though that better auto-bounce angles is one of the most useful buffs to guns.

    How about we dust off the old AS Hakuryu? Personally I don't mind as I'm still running AA builds on most of my high tiers.
