Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Nechrom replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Met @aboomination in a co-op battle this morning. He seemed a bit ornery. -

New american CV...another indecent gift for Premium CV
Nechrom replied to OOAndreasOO's topic in General Discussion
"Really good AS player" is an oxymoron. A good CV player doesn't use AS in random battles. If you need an AS loadout to manage enemy fighters you should stop and think about what you're doing. Thankfully WG has done you a favor and you can now learn how to play without overwhelming numerical fighter superiority. Or you can quit I guess. Either way the game is better as a result. -

Working as intended. (no sarcasm) You're the reason they made this change. -
Which Ships you would you like to find in a supercontainer (but never buy) ?
Nechrom replied to Favuz's topic in General Discussion
In honor of the first premium ship I'm not buying on release, I can answer: Ashitaka. -
I play more premiums mostly because they often offer something special which you don't get with the tech-tree ships. And even for those that are not as unique, they still give more credits and XP. There are still regular ships I go back to though like Myoko, Mogami, Fubuki, Kongo etc. Hmm... lots of IJN ships now that I think about it.

Tier 7 is a good tier with lots of nice ships, but I would be lying if I didn't pick the obvious answer: Scharnhorst. No matter how much I love my Atlanta it simply can't beat the versatility of the Scharny. If I'm picking per class it's Scharnhorst, Atlanta and Leningrad. Special mentions to Nelson, Myoko and Sims.

And that would be fine IF the matchmaker would take that into consideration and not put a team with Shimas and Khabas against a team with Gearings and Z-52s. -

You're saying this as if the Shima has any chance of hitting a non-AFK cruiser in the first place. While the DW torps will literally be unable to hit a cruiser, the other normal Shima torps are practically unable to anyway. It's a tough thing to balance, no doubt. Because the Shimakaze becomes "bad for the game" long before it actually becomes comparable to the other DDs in effectiveness if you just buff the torps. I still think it should have it's un-nerfed HE shells back (all IJN DDs should) and the regular torps should get another visibility buff by -0.2km. -
Same accuracy actually. But yes, Mutsu penetration. Comparable to Warspite/Hood penetration at all but hugging range. Going to function a lot like Hood with garbo penetration, high speed and wide turning circle. She sacrifices the "Ohshi..." defensive AA consumable for a heavier main battery. Biggest difference aside from that is that Hood is armored all over while Ashitaka will take HE damage from everything. Oh and that visibility... This is the stuff which makes being a collector in WoWs so hard to justify.

I actually don't think it's bad. Too early to know if I'm going to enjoy it in the long run with all the possible combinations of maps and matchmaking. It's like a Yubari but with OP smoke to make that kind of toilet paper cruiser work without amazing luck. Also having actual good AA is nice. The maneuverability is fantastic so you can do the DD-shake until you get unspotted. As a captain of an Atlanta without AFT, the low range doesn't really bother me.

Blocked on Twitter for critiquing the game...
Nechrom replied to Drunken_Jedi's topic in General Discussion
Turns out that reposting something which got you blocked on Twitter isn't a very good idea. As to why it hasn't resulted in the topic being locked, I can only guess. Maybe they they don't mind other players discussing it on their private forums. I don't think the OP would have been banned or warned if he only posted what he did on the forums and not on public social media. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Nechrom replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Good game for me and kudos to @Corleox for equally good play, making it a double carry and a very fun battle. -
I'm sure someone would make up a reason why WG is doing a "moneygrab" either way. They can't win with some people. Besides, they can't just stop releasing stuff during CW and ranked. Makes no sense.

I don't even.

The new most expensive flag in WoWs, 400€.

Together with the Kamikazes and the Leningrad, the Kidd is now my go to "fun-DD". The heal really seals the deal (hehe) and I can't count the number of times I've been kept in the battle and viable simply due to it. Being able to actually fight off CV planes is also a bonus when it's needed.

What's your most influential ship class?
Nechrom replied to Murro_the_One's topic in General Discussion
Without a doubt CVs, despite representing less than 3% of my total battles. Out of the other three classes both cruisers and BBs are neck in neck with cruisers having a slight advantage. DDs for me are unfortunately not the play-makers they should be. -
Prinz Eugen aka Hipper and WG attitude towards her
Nechrom replied to peepoStinger's topic in General Discussion
AGAIN I never mentioned bow or stern armor. Read much? And if you actually followed the game development and looked at the ship stats you would figure out exactly what they will change for balance and what they won't. Educate yourself.- 117 replies

Prinz Eugen aka Hipper and WG attitude towards her
Nechrom replied to peepoStinger's topic in General Discussion
One is an old premium which they can't nerf, the other isn't. Basically trumps everything. But I wasn't talking about bow and stern armor. Even then if a ship historically didn't use the all-or-nothing armor scheme and had extended armor protection fore and/or aft, it's reflected in the game (like on the Hipper/Eugen for example). Tying it back to the topic. The Hipper/Eugen doesn't have bad bow or stern armor, that's not their issue. They just have small and weak belts so that even if they don't get hit in the citadel they take penetration damage from basically everything.- 117 replies

Nechrom replied to peepoStinger's topic in General Discussion
So let's just ignore all ties to reality? My point is that they won't increase the belt armor to 100mm if the ship didn't have that. Nor will they shorten the ship to give it better turning radius.- 117 replies

Nechrom replied to peepoStinger's topic in General Discussion
She's not very tanky or maneuverable, that's pretty much down to basic historical values, so not much to do about that. So what can we improve? DPM obviously, either by just increasing rate of fire or improving soft shell stats like Krupp value or auto-bounce angles. Either would work for me.- 117 replies

It's a big change in the switch between Fuso and Nagato, in a lot of ways. Going from: 12 to 8 guns. 28 to 32 s reload. 1.5 to 2.0 sigma. 356 to 410mm guns. Nagato also turns her guns slightly faster, has better gun angles and is less visible.
