  1. It's only subjective if that's the way you want to look at it. You can easily compare the value of different things objectively. What was the last welcome gift you remember? And I'm conceding that if you're the kind of player who has the Missouri for example, these gifts are of less importance. But it still dwarfs what you get for free by playing the game. I think you'll be hard pressed to match those gifts with everything you've been able to win for free by playing for 6 months. And I want to once again point out that the welcome gifts are rewards for doing nothing.

Monty AP still doing full damage to DDs?

They are looking to rework the entire way AP damage is calculated to try and get this sorted. That's why it's taking a while. I appreciate that they aren't just making extra mechanics for hitting DDs specifically, which would be the fast and dirty fix.

Monty AP still doing full damage to DDs?

Not full damage, no. Penetration damage? Yes.
  4. But there's a massive contingent of players between those who don't play the game and those who have the Missouri. Even those who can put in the game-hours to pick up an October Revolution, Graf Spee or Duke of York are a comparatively small group of the active players. Also I think it's important to remember that getting something for nothing is immediately a huge deal compared to whatever we can get by playing the game. Add to that the fact that the gifts are of an unprecedented size and quality. Last time I heard of a "Welcome back"-gift it was an Emden and a few days of premium.

    RNG and CVs

But some cruisers are more or less dependent on fires to deal damage, while the only CV load-outs that leaned on fires were removed from the game just recently.

    RNG and CVs

First of all the UI not working is not RNG even if it feels random. It's not intentional design. Even if you sometimes get lucky/unlucky with AA/fighters it's still in a microcosm of a single squad. When a CA/CL or DD get's unlucky it's the end of the battle for that player. Flooding, fire and accuracy RNG is something other ships also suffers from, except much much more.

    RNG and CVs

CVs are the least RNG affected ships in the game. Just want to point that out.

Quitting due to full HP detonations.

In a perfect game detonations shouldn't be a thing, but at the same time on the grand scale of things it's such a tiny annoyance that it's not even worth raging about the few times it does happen. When it really counts (ranked, CW, tier 10 without perm-camo etc) you have the signal flags, so the only times you actually have a chance to detonate is in some random battles where you just shrug and move on.

    SBL: Make Izumo Great Again

FTFY The only thing idiot proof about her armor is that any idiot can damage her with any gun from any angle.
  10. Last time this happened it was due to a white-list. Only a handful of domains were allowed for image posting.

    SBL: Make Izumo Great Again

The forum is eating images again.
  12. I'm only a bit annoyed myself over the fact that extremely generous gifts are given to some but not others and it seems to be the opposite of incentivizing good behavior (activity, spending, good manners etc). What rubs me the wrong way the most is that it's not labeled as a "welcome back gift" or "incentive to return", but as a "New Years Gift". "Why does that matter?", you say. It makes it sound like WG is giving out New Years Gifts, which they quite clearly aren't or their actual players would have gotten them. It both makes active players feel unappreciated and creates a false assumption with returning players that WG will be continuing to give out "New Years Gifts" or whatever the next holiday is. I would probably be even more annoyed if I didn't already have the premium ships and a good amount of doubloons/credits/free XP. I can only imagine how active players who are just barely affording stuff and have a very limited premium ship line-up, would feel. Those gifts would be absolutely massive to them.
  13. Am I supposed to see an image in your post?
  14. TFW you only get "New Years Gifts" on your unused NA account.

Duke of York as reward for Campaign - Opinions?

Are we back to this "Missouri's value" discussion again? It's free if we're talking real money, not free if we're talking time and effort spent. Full disclosure, I did convert XP for roughly half the free XP cost of her because I didn't want to wait any longer and because I had doubloons laying around. Since then I have also acquired the Nelson but I didn't spend anything but naturally collected free XP and I'm now at 600k free XP and counting. Suffice to say I rarely use free XP to unlock regular ships or modules. I used to skip especially awful hulls before, but now after they removed them all I don't really see anywhere it's worth using free XP in the regular tech-tree, possibly CV planes and load-outs. Back on the topic of the Duke of York. I did buy her through the cheapest option and have tried her out a bit. Since I haven't played the King George I can't make any comparisons, but by herself she's a decent ship. Spamming HE mitigates the issue of having small BB guns with bad reload. The guns feel fairly accurate when you only have to actually hit a ship, not necessarily in the citadel. She feels very tanky against AP and I've yet to be citadelled. When I die I usually burn to death since she doesn't have the usual RN zombie heal. Anti-fire captain skills and upgrades are a must. I've yet to face a CV, so my AA guns are still in mint-condition. The gun layout is a double-edged sword. On one hand you almost always have at least 4 guns on target, on the other hand the angles of the rear turret is really bad, so getting all guns on target is a bit awkward. Maneuvering characteristics feel super average across the board. Turning is decent and speed is good.

Please re-read that post, it's not that long.

Then why quote me in the first place?

how long can you play? yamamoto: Campaign

I'm getting a bit annoyed at repeating ignorance, not from you specifically but just from people in general. If you intentionally quote an NA post regarding this then I question if you're really trying to prove me wrong or just want to bring up the only contradicting information that exists despite it being irrelevant to us on the EU server.

I see you can copy and paste other people's images. Here's the link if you want to make an image yourself: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/content/update-notes-main/patch-notes-05151/

  21. And here you go presuming that all I had to go on was the main EU article. We had already asked WG about it before the article even went up.

Didn't see this coming a mile away. Check out the new permanent historical campaign that narrates the story of Yamamoto Isoroku I wonder why they didn't mention anything like that when Missouri was released.
  23. He's talking about consumables though. I never pick containers which have consumables in them, so I have no idea.

It's a permanent campaign, so you have until WoWs shuts down.
