Who needs arguments or facts, let's just say things randomly as if they are true. When you have nothing and can't admit when you are wrong, that's what you do. I say don't shoot. You say you didn't. I quote you saying you shot. And there is the closer of someone who have run out of actual things to say. Bravo. Top tier discussion.

And I humored you and explained that it's part of the basic spotting mechanics. Meanwhile this the rest of his post that you are obviously completely uninterested in acknowledging: This is what I was discussing until you came around and demanded that I have to discuss something else.

I know it changed, that was the entire point of the smoke change. I'm saying that the fact that the bloom stays regardless of LoS if anyone saw you firing hasn't changed. Before the smoke change you could fire outside of smoke, move into smoke and then out again and the bloom would still be there despite you getting undetected inside the smoke for a moment. Everything is the same except for what the smoke change added, which is a reduced bloom inside/behind smoke instead of a hard LoS block (like solid cover).

And just as I pointed out before, this is a criticism of basic spotting mechanics and not about the smoke changes. No matter how much you're trying to pivot the discussion, the topic was about the smoke changes, not about spotting mechanics as they have been for a long time. If you think that smoke should override basic spotting mechanics, that's up to you and might be an interesting topic, but it's not this topic since that has nothing to do with the smoke changes. Defensive smoke works fine. Don't shoot. That's the solution.

Read what I am writing god dammit! Now, do you have any objections regarding something I've actually written?

That is not true. Try it out in the trainingroom. I can now see, why you think, its working as intended. Its not. No, you are wrong about how spotting works. If anyone sees you firing, that triggers the 20sec timer and nothing at that point will make your bloom go down before those 20sec are up. That's how the spotting works. The only time your bloom goes down again before those 20sec is if no one saw you fire in the first place (within max gun range, or smoke firing detection range if in smoke).

I didn't know you were required to individually discuss with every single person in a topic. But why not, I'll bite. That's the way every part of the spotting mechanic works, not just for smoke spotting. If I'm only in LoS of a DD and I shoot and kill that DD, if I then get into LoS of another enemy ship within 20sec of firing my guns, I will be spotted despite that ship never "seeing" me fire my guns. Complaining about the smoke changes on the basis of how basic spotting works in WoWs makes no sense at all. If you don't think it shouldn't work this way then please bring it up in the context of general spotting mechanics and not as a reason why the smoke changes were bad.

Speaking of not reading. Did you only read the last of the 4 paragraphs in the OP?
  9. Right... I don't know why I thought that the Des Moines was moving as well. Derp. My Cleveland have had premium camo for a long time. Such a gem of a ship deserves one.
  10. That was what I initially thought. You could also go for Des Moines and New Orleans instead of Baltimore and Pensacola. That way you get a tier 9 and tier 7 camo for free. But I'm not even close to getting the Des Moines, so I probably won't have time unless I start grinding which I don't really want to.
  11. I'm sitting here wondering about optimal permanent camo purchase if that's something you want for the line. When ships get moved down you keep the camo of the ship as it moves down but also gain a new one on the ship replacing it. So I'm wondering if buying every other premium camo would be the most tactical choice... That's assuming you want every camo on the line of course.
  12. Are you using all premium consumables? For tier 7 I can't see you getting so little income. At tier 8, sure. Also credit rewards are not effected by winning or losing. So as long as you do well yourself your credit rewards shouldn't suffer.

I have never seen a DD intentionally go to spot a smoked up CL. Using your logic, any kind of spotting or lack of concealment is a BB buff. BBs thrive in a target rich environment, yes. But I'm not arguing that BBs gained nothing in this smoke change. I'm saying that they didn't gain more than they lost and that the change was good despite whatever positive BBs got out of it. Changes will have a cascade of big and small positive and negative effects for different ships. I don't think the value of a change can be distilled down to "what did each class of ships gain/lose in this". I can honestly say that the smoke change was a nerf to cruisers, not a big one but no question a nerf. Do I want cruisers to get nerfed? No. Do I think the smoke change was good? Yes. That's not inconsistency of opinion.

Yes. Did you have anything else useful to add?

Except in practice no DDs actually goes in to suicide spot a CL in smoke. Most because they don't even realize they can, and some because they realize that being close to a RN CL with hydro is not healthy. A BB smoked up in the right location was incredibly powerful when the priority was to keep the enemy at bay. Obviously just randomly smoking up BBs when they are not in those important locations makes little difference or can be detrimental to the team as you don't want BBs stopping randomly in positions where they have few targets and don't serve a use as deterrents.

I'm happy to see that the "spinning everything into a BB buff"-meme is still alive.
  17. Are you trolling? 10k? It should be giving you 10x that. Please show me a good Nagato battle paying out even close to as little as 10k. Or any tier 5-7 ship for that matter.

Good change. Added skill-based mechanics to something which was just a no-brainer ability outside of radar use. BBs don't need smoke. Cruisers can still use it with a couple of caveats and DDs are unaffected. Working as intended. I still smoke up cruisers which is a class that benefits from it greatly. Not smoking up BBs is not a bad thing. Saves the smoke for someone who actually needs it outside of when they mess up.

Making the forum section isn't the issue. Moderating it and having someone supply official localized information, is.
  20. Ibuki into Zao. Super close to a really fun tier 10 CA is a no-brainer in my opinion. I like the Hindenburg as well, but you're a long way away from it still.

    [Guidance] Khabarovsk or Grozovoi?

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm meaning with support. Any ship can "support" another or their team in general. It would be a pretty awful ship otherwise. What I'm saying is that it doesn't have what you would call support abilities. In multiplayer games a support is someone who helps the team without relying on doing or taking/blocking damage. Regarding the focus fire my experience is the opposite. No one ever focuses the Khaba as they always go for easier damage farm targets like BBs and CA. They might not even see the Khaba as much of a threat unless it's targeting them specifically. This frustrates me to no end since you need to get rid of the Khaba early or it will just continue grinding away at your team over the entire duration of the battle.

    CV player skill is polarized

Had this guy on my team in 2 consecutive battles: Making WoWs a wonderful place in his Lexington. The first battle I had some choice words about him after he was afk for the first minutes and then went at 1/2 speed across our side of the map while being run down by two enemy DDs and every enemy within gun range. The second battle I just felt sad as he was communicating a lot with voice commands and it looked like he tried to do things, but it obviously wasn't working out.
  23. Saw @Odo_Toothless in his QE today on North. Noticed him too late when I was already sunk, so no jolly cooperation. We did pull off a win though, so it's all good.

    Loyangs were a huge mistake

But the hydro is only ever going to matter once the Lo Yang is covered in smoke. What do you think happens first? The Lo Yang disappears in smoke after popping it and slowing down to a halt or the Benson getting out of 5.43km range?
